I've played 200hrs+ of FS 25 and 1000s of FS22.
First... fixes - 1) grass texture never grows, 2) hail damage to grass? (never seen that in real life) 3) Make the purchasable farms functional in the game... great big horse area on one and huge chicken pen on another and nothing usable... 4) fix the barges so they are usable. 5) contracts - some the borrowing amounts are MORE than the rewards! wut?
Second: like to see changes. Contract some planting/seeding/lime jobs. On riverbend I've seen 2? 'standard' crop harvests (on minute fields) with the rest being the new crop with their insanely slow and narrow harvesters.... 'clean the entire bathroom with a toothbrush' is what i think every time i see them..
Third: the planting calendar is ridiculous... there is no way to cycle a field with just a seeder or just a planter with months and months of fallow ground. EG. in real life, "Spring canola: Takes about 50 days to flower and 87-100 days to grow to full height
Winter canola: Takes about four months to flower after January 1 and 129-163 days to grow, plus another 120-150 days to overwinter".... in game it takes 330 days... wth!
Basically feels like they are forcing onto the new crops....
Fourth:
Would like to see 'weather forecasting' and crops that are say 'drought tolerant' or 'frost tolerant' or 'mud tolerant' (as they are in real life), so you need to make risk/reward decisions.
Pest control on crops.
More wildlife (region specific)
Merry Christmas to you and Beanie, The map I would love to see on FS25 would be Vintage Oaks by Farm sim Brisco, I know his making Saxlingham for FS25 to be out early 2025. Looking forward to seeing you in Calmsden, great vidoe as always Scroft. 👍
The maps I liked on FS22 were the Mission to Mars and the Frontier one with all the dirt and the big city. Proper dev maps with new ideas that were actually not regurgitations. :D
The one thing I am surprised that Giants did not put in the game, is a cat. Over here in the US every farm has a cat or twelve. I know we have a dog; my dog is named Waldo. Anyway, that's what I would change, having a cat. Merry Christmas to you and Beanie.
Merry Christmas to you and your family scroft, have a safe holiday 😊🎅
I think farming simulator over the last few years has slowed down on progressing as a sim and gone in the direction of the arcade type which is a real shame for the 'hardcore realism' fans like myself and plenty of others. I think that the game after 2 years or so of development is somewhat of a failure, don't get me wrong they have a lot of new players on the franchise which is a good thing but a graphics update isnt going to keep me playing consistently until the next game in probably 3 years. Im continuing to play fs22 on calmsden and i think the 25 conversion will bring me back but relying on modders to essentially make the game enjoyable isnt right. Would've been nice to have an animals upgrade for a more in depth look at the health and produce which i dont think would be a huge task for them. I think crop protection is majorly overlooked as spraying or applying chemicals is a huge thing in farming, its the deciding factor between a crop not worth harvesting and a high yielding one. I think machinery seems a bit low from fs22 basegame imo (i havent looked in depth it just feels like it) aswell as the previous games dlc equipment isnt basegame either which is quite stupid honestly. Overall it was just a bit of a let down i think the 'ground deformation' was a nice feature, makes ploughing enjoyable but still some issues with that.
I'm with you 100% on the shortcomings of FS25. I'm really enjoying FS25 and Riverbend Springs, my hometown is about 30 miles away from the IRL map location. It is surprisingly accurate for a Giants map. I'm glad they added rice as it is a huge crop for much of the world. The baby animals were a good add as well, but the lack of animal mechanics is disappointing. Giants have been VERY SLOWLY improving animals over the years but like you mentioned, it's still very arcade'y.... I like how you described the "ceiling"...It's been that way since FS 15 > 17
Merry Christmas to you and Beani and your families, And also a better 2025
The only map that I would even pay to bring back is Farm Sim's Brisco's - Vintage Oaks. It came out right at the end of FS22. It truly is a beautiful 4x map and is one of the best maps of FS22 IMO
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours, Scroft (and to everyone else reading this!)
You were asking the question of what it is we want to see in the game- and to be fair, I am NOT a player myself. I got hooked on watching The Farmhand, which led me to spread out into a few FS roleplay series on RUclips. I know the term "GOAT" gets tossed around a lot on the Internet, but you really are the gold standard for FS roleplay by a country mile (turn of phrase intended).
But that being said, my outside observation, as someone who follows yourself and other FS content creators, is that while they did a tremendous amount of good work on the visuals, they seem to be content on relying on modders to complete the gameplay experience. Of course, that's kind of the intention of having modding available, and part of the game. But it seems like there are a number of "absolute must have" features provided by modders in the past, that they have simply not taken the time to adopt as core mechanics. That is kind of tragic, and a bit of a disservice to the community. Modding should be an enhancement to the base, not a required upgrade to the base experience.
I understand that not everyone plays games on "hardcore" mode, but I can't imagine, say, a new version of a flight simulator come out, but you need to mod it to make landing seem realistic? Seems a bit crazy- and that's what this current version of FS25 is at. Not complete, for people who want to play an accurate simulation.
I know it's all much more complicated than this reductive observation of mine, but I suppose what I want, is for the game to rapidly get to a state where folks are happy with the realism. I guess in my mind, that means the developers doing everything in THEIR power to empower the modders. Acknowledge the shortcomings, present the challenge, and figure out a way to compensate the modders who are capable of completing portions of the game which requires completion.
I know that modding isn't shit wealth and glory, but to be honest, it feels like a little wealth and a little glory absolutely should be given to those helping to compete or fix at least the core functionality of the simulation part of the simulator.
Anyways, sorry for the long and potentially pointless rant. I guess the story of No Man's Sky is what I like to see from a developer- relentless work on providing for the promise given. It seems like what we have here instead is "eh, you customers can fix it yourself".
But it's early yet. I guess patience is going to be the key.
Thanks again for everything- I hope you aren't getting tired of hearing how much your work makes the world a better place for so many folks such as myself.
Merry Christmas to you both hope you have a good one. I’m not really sure what I would change as I have only played a few times and the reason for this is the problems with the game so I think what I would change is Giants putting a little more effort in to the finer details
So, there's a couple things I want to see. As far as new crops, I want to see peanuts. They're a little different from everything else in that you actually pull them out of the ground and sort of swath them to dry them out, then you pick them up, and there would be some cool machines we could use.
For maps, the UK map next year may be cool, but I can't wait to see if Rennebu comes back. I got into FS22 in the last year of its life, and Rennebu was the map that everything clicked for me and I gained a passion for the game. I know the dev was still working on it near FS25's release, so I hope they'll finish or update it and bring it to FS25.
I enjoy he automation so I can get the workers to tend my fields while I do something else like forestry etc. The fieldwork is great but I haven't found a truck that will drive one end of the map to the other without trying to visit someone's living room so I would improve the course finding off the fields. I get the changing the load layout trigger on my truck using the largest flatbed trailer. It comes up in the hints box top left.
Merry Christmas Scroft & Beanie. I have managed to find most of the mods including the latest beta for Course Play, that I have on my current FS22 Calmsden Game play. I gave it a lot of thought and decided to recreate the new game as close as the old. However, I am going to make use of the dynamic Pastures in '25. I have played 1000's of hours on Calmsden and it is my go to R & R. I would change the weird white floating things that are all over Giants maps. Calmsden is the perfect map; I am still blown away of the visuals that Oxy achieve in FS22, cannot wait for the new version.
I'd like a glue factory so I can do something with horses... Or hire a worker to exercise the horses would make them more bearable.
I get their marketing to kids and casuals but man i just want more realism, reason i'm playing something with the name "simulator" in it. Precision farming, Maize Plus, Terralife Plus etc added so much more to the game, more variety and made it more indepth, gave you way more to do and broke up the monotony i'd get after awhile. while graphically FS25 is a big imrpovement, there's not much thats new except baby animals and terrain deformation and that doesnt even work in multiplayer. Its amazing to see what solo/a team of a few modders can bring to do game but for some reason Giants just doesnt.
Fixing the manure and slurry pit and I am perfectly happy. I am one who prefers it not to be too realistic, I find it already too much work as it is with the animals. I think it is good the way it is right now, mods should add complexity for those who like it, but it should be just surface level for me otherwise.
i think giants could add more realism to the game and just have options in the settings that can be disabled for people who dont want the added realism
@@illuscion Agreed. A toggle for "enhanced animals" or "precision farming" or "realistic Seasons" would be great. I like to have a realistic game save alongside a play-around relaxed save. There's certainly a place for both, but the base game doesn't really facilitate that beyond the economy, and 3 or 4 field settings.
I love doing animals so yes I would say fix the animals. Also horse staff mod would be great. Also I would like to see a specific farmhand mod where you can employ specific people. Pay a set wage etc. In terms of maps I liked Attingham but I am actually looking forward to playing new maps. Merry Christmas.
😏So looking forward to good maps. Merry Christmas.
I honestly think Giant's let players down again less and less in the games, Modder's are doing all the heavy lifting.
Realistic Animals, that is what I was looking forward to the most.
I am actually dreading the release of the British map from Giants. The amount of moaning about 25 from all content creators has been high, it will go to the moon when they see that Giants makes the map more accessible to the masses. It will not be tight like Court Farms etc....I fear very high disapppointment is coming.
There is a reason Giants has not done a map of that type...it doesn't fit their "For everyone" model.
Very excited for Calmsden!
I have hope bud. And I'll be the first to be honest on the map. It's also well overdue
Totally agree it is overdue,,,,Just really afraid of how they do it. Merry Christmas to you and Beanie!
Merry Christmas to you guys and everyone else watching
Merry Christmas xx
Wow, thank you so much Nina 🙏🙏 Have a wonderful Christmas!
Millstown and lone oaks maps I would like to see on fs 25. Merry Christmas
I would love to see a clever mapper/modder create a decent Aussie map, doesn’t have to be a real location but needs realistic vegetation, climate, seasons, crops etc
One of the best maps has to be Coldborough Park Farm just a favourite from FS15
Merry Christmas Scroft, Beanie and Scroft JR. I’m really looking forward to Calmsden but I won’t play on it until we have a Land Rover available, won’t feel right driving anything else on the map
have a great xmas scroft and beanie lookin forward to meny more adventures of the farm hand
merry Christmas to scroft and beanie hope you have a good one
Same to you!
FS19 style Seasons for more realism.
For the autoload trailers, in the customize screen hit the Autoload button at the bottom to change from stack loading to layers. Merry Christmas
I would get rid of seasons all together. Like 19. I don’t want to deal with them in a game. But otherwise I don’t mind 25
I just want the ability to be rid of seasons if one doesn’t want them. That’s me but people that want them can have them. The older I get the more I hate cold and winter. I don’t want to deal with the junk in a game. Again it should be an option for everyone to choose to have or not.
Merry Christmas to you too.
Was wondering if you'd be able to put together a video with all the mods that you recommend?
MERRY XMAS . I HAVE NOT BOUGHT 25 OR PLAN TO YET.
Merry Christmas Scroft and Beanie
Great Video Scroft keep it up
Also where can I get that Redrock trailer??
That Red Rock trailer 🤤🤤🤤 I’m so jealous 😁 If I could change the game, I would change the animals, add precision farming and add seasons from fs19. Seasons in 22 and 25 is so boring. It feels more like FarmVille.
Reverbed springs is the best map out so far and I don't think you have given is a fear go. For me FS25 is a massive improvement when it comes to dynamics and graphics FS22 I was getting 57/60FPS FS25 I'm getting 75/80FPS Ai workers have improved driver assessed is good when used properly. I Agree animals need improving I want to see male and female animals with both being needed for reproduction I want the ability to breed animals for food. But anyone that thinks FS22 was better are just deluded most likely because they are judging it by the mods FS25 don't yet have you can only judge the gams has they release in vanilla. It is unfear to judge FS25 against a fully modded and spouted FS22. Judge that in 2 years for now the Comparision is the vanilla release and FS25 wins hands down. IMO I would also like new maps that we haven't seen before not just ported maps new maps for a new game. Calmsden Farm, has good has it was it is just a ported map nothing new I'm not really excited for something I have already played on.
Cannot argue with your logic, that is why I tried playing on FS25 and went back to FS22. I cannot believe the number of good Mods that are out already for FS25. CoursePlay is available as a BETA download and by all accounts is working great. We have Autoload and now just waiting on AutoDrive. Regardless, when the new Calmsden comes out for '25. I will be playing regardless.
I get your side, my only complaint so far is a lot of the stuff makes no sense. I want more realism, but that's a play style preference and everyone has a different style. But the best way to describe FS25 is it has bigger potential than 22 did. And it's going to be great when modders drop some new maps. What we need is a overall mod that makes animals, crops and other game dynamics more realistic. That would be amazing. Thanks for watching and for the comment. I hope you have a great Christmas
@@Scroftcompletely agree with you. Love the game but Giants should already have added stuff like more realistic animals, crop rotation, bale rotting, germination, crop moisture etc… I get it that they add non farming stuff for extra buyers, but they should cater also to people that actually want a sim.
Hi scroft the thing that's annoying me with fs 25 is the crops when seeding it use unrealistic low seed usage and when harvesting the yield is unrealistic low it's the most unrealistic game since FS11 how they have gone from 22 to 25 if the next game moves in the same direction I will give up on farming simulator that would be a sad day from a farming background I like to play it in now thinking it's a shame cattle and crops went bust that was beginning to look good
I get you there. When I did all my testing videos I realised just how broken stuff is. Most of the stuff makes no sense. We need and overall mod, and PF
you also pay 200 k + for a field with a lot of trees or big hills on the side and you can't do anything to the field you cannot expand it you can but you have to spend hours in the build menu and cutting the trees done
Just being honest, I haven’t purchased FS25 yet because of the lack of Updates and Bugs etc… I miss Seasons mod in FS19… I would like to see a Veterinarian coming to the Farm or Sales People coming to the Farm to Sell Fertilizer and Seed or Steel Buildings etc… Brand Loyalty gets you Discounts… Highland Cows and more British Irish ☘️ and Scottish Brands for all Platforms… Hard Mode… Can’t seed over a Plowed field etc… More Realistic Farming… How long is it going to take before Chickens 🐓 need Water 💧 in game? More Off-Grid Farming
I miss Map Makers like GB 🇬🇧 Modding Six Ashes and GreenBale Northern Coast!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year…🎄✌️🚜🐄🌾🍁
Some amazing suggestions there. Sign me up!
Merry Christmas, have a great time
donte worry every one hofbermann is coming may be aprill looks great very big yard the best i have seen since 2017 giants should pay farmer andy for hees work also oxy
Meadow Grove - Lacyboi's extended version
Where can I find fast farmings red rock trailers?
Agreed with a lot the points you made in the last video. As console player there have been some great improvements to the gameplay with the AI and auto steering.
I am missing precise framing, I like the addition depth it added. Also like the animals to be more realistic as you say with ages of maturity and when to sell.
I love your videos but lately I've watched less it's not you or your content I think it's because I'm watching the same maps not just your channel when there's more modde maps come out and mods I'd watch more I mainly watch your fh love that series merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family scroft
On the 27th when I'm back making content. I'm starting my Calsmden let's play series while I help out with testing. So I stay tuned mate. I do understand, I'm also the same.... I think a lot of players in the same boat. Merry Chistmas bud, I hope you have a great time
@@Scroft I can't wait scroft keep up the good work 👏 merry chrimbo
We need older equipment in my opinion no farm has all the latest equipment
more of an "overhaul" on the animals.....where is the bulls!?, more food options? herding? ......at a minimum at least have them working lol
Fs19 seasons with the animal extension and maize plus 👌
they need to fix the grass physics really bad its like driving over boulders wtf is that about
For FS 25 I want to see real ploughing dynamics and also real seeding dynamics what we have at the moment is pretty useless. It's neither one thing nor the other in fact with the last upgrade they have turned off the tyre tracks when you are in GPS mode on the fields, what use is having dynamic ground displacement when they turn it off ?????? I am totally sick of Giants trying to turn this simulator into some sort of toddlers game. This supposed to be a AAA game it isn't even a game and it isn't even a simulator. What it is is an half arsed attempt at one. What's the point in playing all month start a game just to find out that when it comes to selling the produce you cannot sell it growing a Meadow field that does not grow back, or window screen wipers on a clear window also grass that you can't make into silage for whatever reason and the stupid pricing of just about everything in the game.
I have stopped playing FS25 for this reason and many many others it's just not worth bothering with and it's just no fun for me whatsoever!
Merry Christmas to you, Beanie and family.
Im going to upset people here but i want Giants to drop consoles all together. They are holding back what the game could truly be.
Sorry if us console players are upsetting your game play but not all of us can afford gaming pc’s and all the peripherals that come with it.
@rongair9315 long term costs actually make a gaming pc cheaper.
Console players still have extras to pay for like monitors, tvs, controllers, extra hard drives, game passes etc. New console every 2 to 3 years. Where as most pcs will last 5 years before starting to upgrade.
