Hi Kris, This spring I am going to use your ideas to build my mill. Thanks for the simple looking ideas. Well done and definitely one of the best!!! Wish I had a little more detail on the raising and lowering of the saw.
I've seen alot of these on the youtube, but this seems like the best one so far. If you ever get to that second video with more details on the build, I'd love to see it. Ive been drawing up some plans so I can mill my own cedar for the fence's I build. Great work!
Nice! And like others have said, a few more details shown would be great! Especially the height adjustment, and the teflon glides! One of these days I'm going to get around to building my own, I'd like to copy yours!
There is a huge difference in speed when using regular crosscut sawchain and chain made or modified for ripping/sawmilling. Plus engine size, wood species, and log size plays a role in how fast a chainsaw can cut lumber.
I have seen a lot of mills on youtube but yours seems to be closest to what i am after.i am now going to use this inspiration to build a mill here in england europe.
Sitting here in Whitehorse Yukon drinking beer with your causin Austin. Watched this video and instant subscribe. Now aust and I are making plans for our own ;p
Stihl 044 with a rip chain made for milling, basic Alaska sawmill for good control, oil adjustment set high, I can mill 13 ft in a little over a minute of pretty thick spruce
any luck with does demention very exited to start building my owne my dad has 90 acer and i am an 36 year military vet with lot of time on my hand so the doctor told me to stay busy
Awesome mill, however do yourself a favour. Wear some ear defenders if you're gonna be at that for any length of time or your ears will be ringing for the rest of your life. $20 bucks in at Princess Auto - I can't reverse the damage I've done but at least I'm not making it any worse.
Wow, that’s a really nice mill

Absolutely awesome mill. I made up a mill a few years back and your video gave me a lot of ideas. Great content.

The only thing missing in this video is the smell of freshly cut wood. Nice mill.
