@@Karma--vi5zq if you have a mod luncher of sorts its often as easy as droping the mod into a folder and making shure they are combatable. and off you go or get a mod pack.
Just finished putting together my personal modpack, focusing on Immersive Engineering... Looking forward to it, especially after watching these very informative videos. Relaxing, well-explained and just the right pace.
This mod goes well with Better With Mods, No Tree Punching, RFTools and Mekanism. BWM and NTP as a early game, IE - mid-game for 80% of automation stuff and finally Mekanism as a late game machines for more powerful energy generation and ore processing. RFTools with all addons will work as a additional utility mod for storage, logistics and other stuff.
You can shift+click the scaffolding on a pipe to remove it without removing the pipe. You can also right click with a diffrent type of scaffolding to replace the existing scaffolding, which will be dropped as an item/picked up.
I like how the complexity of this mod is only the different combinations of things and systems Edit: I’m trying to build a factory with this mod in Skyfactory 3 ;3
Just wanted to mention with the fluid tanks, if you apply a redstone signal to the bottom, it'll output into any pipe placed on the bottom block, no matter it's location.
I'm in the process of refining a design for a mob farm with a lot of floor space. (A little under 32 by 32 blocks wide.) And first I was going to use water to move the mobs to the drop shaft, but it's too big for 4 water source blocks in the corners, meaning I would have to use lines of water source block, which would cause the whole floor to turn into source blocks. So I tried conveyor belts. I noticed as I went along the tedious process of laying down multiple stacks of belts, that the game was getting slower to respond. It became quite laggy in the end. So I'm going to take out most of the belts, and try mob fans, which don't reach to whole distance. I also didn't make the shaft wide enough the first time, so it's time for a 3 by 3. Good thing I have Psi, and some spells for digging and placing blocks. I don't have a quarry yet... But anyway, point is, conveyor belts can cause some lagginess if over-used.
I am pretty sure I have watched nearly every IE vid you have and I can't seem to tell if you have talked about a way to keep yourself from picking up the items off the conveyor belts as you run by going to something else. I would like to make nice big factories with all the stuff in this mod but I really don't want to have to add the extra logistics of having a re-injection system that would put wayward parts and pieces back on the belts I might have grabbed them from on a run through the factory. Is there something like a contained conveyor, or a "hammer click" option to make it so I don't clean off a belt as I am moving around my factory loading and unloading my injection points for heavy automation? If I wrap them in glass would the drops try to pull to me but then hit the glass and fall back on to the belt when I am further away? Any ideas to solve that issue would be greatly appreciated. By the way, you make the best MC mod videos I have ever watched. You are very informative and helpful and so much more chill and relaxed than most of the people I have seen make mod spotlight vids. Thank you for everything you are doing.
+Strato Driver Thanks Strato Driver! In fact there is a way to stop items being picked up off conveyors. It was a minor add in not long ago. You can click a conveyor with a scaffolding to make it a covered conveyor. :)
Well the thing is I have lots of other reasons to appreciate the magnet feature so I was hoping I could just find a solution like that covered conveyor like you told me about. By the way, can I cover all the different types of conveyors or will I need to be careful about how I build so the special conveyors like the vertical and dropping conveyor don't get items pulled off of them?
Ty very much for this great video. It explains the mod much better then other Tutorials. Is it possible to pump lava from a Silo into a tank from Tinkers Construct?
So.. what if i want to build a sorting mechanism that needs to sort more items than one sorting block allows? Since the conveyor is pointed towards the sorting block, but items that are not pulled into it are just stuck.. how would i make items run into 2 or more sorting blocks sequentially, so that an item that is not taken in by the first one, is then taken in by the second one?
I'm currently just trying to learn about different mods since I just started playing FTB again with the Revelations mod pack. It has been frustrating because of the lack of insight in game on how to make rf generators and sort items. The item descriptions sometimes don't give enough info about how things are made. So one of the thing I needed made was a steel ingot for something, but it never told me in the creation menu that I needed a coke furnace. But anyway, my question is with conveyor belts. If I am mining at bedrock and want to set up belts that run up to base on surface to be sorted will the item despawn after a while if left out too long on the belts?
+lazy gizmo Very long running belts with lots of items I would say is a very bad thing. This will likely cause a lot of lag though the items on it will likely not despawn though I can't say I've tested that.
If you're playing FTB, the best method for long range item transport is an Ender Pouch linked to a matching Ender Chest in your base. Have the Ender Chest sitting on top of a hopper, which will empty the chest and send items to the correct storage locations in your base. Getting a full sorting system set up is a bit trickier, but it's very easy to at least sort out junk items like cobble and dirt, to send them to a simple mass storage location. Super convenient for inventory management during long mining trips.
Great vids..very helpfull But is there a way to pump water out of a lake or something? I still have to manualy fill up the tanks that bring water to my garden thingies. Second prob is that the garden makes more then my machines can handle. So it all stacks up on the belts. Would-be nice if there was something that looks for option 1 and if thats no option it goes in to a chest (or lava)
There are pumps that you can craft that do exactly that. They take power and need to be activated by redstone (frequently overlooked). You could always use another mod or a comparator to check the fullness of a container and use the signal to turn off the garden cloches (since they can take a redstone signal too)
Maybe I'm out dated or need to see the more advanced stuff, but IC2 may require more complicated crafting but is more efficient automation and ore doubling so far.
But admit it, this looks hundred times nicer visually. Who cares about.. Pipes and ugly conduits, when you can just watch a spaghetti monster of conveyor belts
The micro crafting in IC2 killed any joy for me. IM is awesome because the cost to make things are much more realistic/less grindy. Plus the steam punk aesthetic is awesome.
im trying to power my metal press and bullest press but it wont work with any of the batteries even if they are being powered it only works with a creative capacitor how do i fix it?
Watching this has made me realize, if you play Factorio (I do) this may be the greatest mod in existence.
+Gavin Burns It is a wonderful mod.
How can i down load this

This series is great so informative and your voice Is just soothing to listen to :D
As opposed to the guys who are really loud and excited and stuff. Ugh... I hate when they do that, and this series is a good transition.
Dude, I just discovered your channel and I am so happy. Amazing detailed videos, kudos for all your work.

No worries. Happy to help.

Yup. SAme with almost anything that is an entity or tile entity in Minecraft really.
OMG! Belts :D
this is definitly alot more dificult than redstone, non the less really fun to learn how every machine operates with others

Thank you so very much for that!!! I was hoping there was a way within the mod so I didn't have to fashion something up using other mods or methods!
+Strato Driver As an aside though, Botania does have an anti-magnet flower called a solegnolia if you need it.

hey, did you ever have a part about how to automate removing the oil from the coke oven?
Use a fluid pump with the input side facing the oven and the output facing away. Hook up a fluid pipe to that and into a tank.
