Nice demo and good to relate it to relevant rules and regs. As an aside, if you fasten a thin bit of copper wire down the length of the apex of your roof the rain will wash tiny bits of copper oxide down both sides (although the Northerly side is ususally the worst) and this is quite effective to prevent moss and lichen growth.

Great video again. Very interesting. Done my roof recently and it works really well! Daughters house, however was a different kettle of fish - the Red Kites have much better flying ability than me!! lol😊

    Hi There, great video thanks.
So, do you believe it is okay to charge for roof inspections even without formal roofing experience or qualifications?
I suppose like you said in the description, you articulate that you are not a roof surveyor of any kind, but provide the customer with all the material and information they need to make the best decision for the home and any further action with regards to repairs is up to them?

      To add to this:
What package do you think I should be offering?
I am stuck between photos, videos or a combination of both... As of now, I think a full video inspection of the roof (if battery life allows) is best and then photos of certain intricate areas and any damaged parts you noticed during the flight.
Thanks in advance to anyone who offers feedback or assists me here :)

the world has changed since this video was made - pricing is what you need to make it pay - cover insurance costs drone costs etc and time and fuel getting there etc what package should you offer thats not possible I do not know your overall skill set etc

Don't forget that if you shoot in 1080 you have 4x zoom, which might be more suitable albeit you lose some resolution at max zoom.

The thing is with drones let’s say your near airports and stuff 10 metres would not affect anyone or anything BUT in some cases drones can fly away and these drones can go for miles on a fly away so one doing a fly away straight into a landing aircraft os highly dangerous that’s why such a limit

  • @gameyogo

You mentioned birds, would adding reflective tape to the drone make the birds stay away from the drone?

Another interesting video Mark, I'd like you're opinion, I have an Anafi with plenty of batteries, I have an A2 CoC I bought a mac mini for editing after watching you're video and it IS a beast so thanks for that video! I was going to get a mini 2 and and wait until C marked drones come out to buy anything heavier but I'm edging toward a Mavic air 2 although I know its transitional (none commercial, just to take video of my kayaking and mountain trips) be interested to see what you think of the mini 2 in average winds 10-15mph. In you're opinion would a MA2 be worth bothering with? (Crikey that went on longer than I planned!)

Thanks for posting Mark. You talking about 'Tripod Mode' got me thinking. I've found out that with the latest firmware and Android Fly app, it'll only fly slow in "Cine" mode if capturing video with the camera looking vertically down.

I have a p4 pro thats tri pod mode - so for me I just call them the same thing

Same here Mark. I'd be list without it for jobs like this. Shame the slow speed mode doesn't work for capturing images. Maybe DJI will add in a firmware update?

  • @jayellard489

Nice one Mark. I suppose it's a matter of time for an update so we can use the smart controller. That would be a massive win for me. Cracking picture too , I don't think you need nothing else really for roof inspections. inspections..

Hi Mark, I enjoyed that video, well done with that! My only cringe is your mention of putting the Mini 2 overweight with lights, you obviously have no idea what you are dealing with here. They come in at about just over a gram and with the Mini's 240 total flight weight there is room to spare I wouldn't recommend plastering them everywhere, maybe one?. Did you realise they are SUB 250g by a margin? I'm sure you must know!

    • @allaboutdrones8070
      @allaboutdrones8070  3 года назад

think depends on LED you add and any 3D printed mount - so you have to be careful what you add - theres always a risk someone could go over - mini v1 and v2 also have different weights so again depends on aircraft and weight of items added - I give a general check what you add because - I am not going into every aircraft and every version, the video would be way way to long -

Good day, What did you mention about Phantom 4 pro toward the beginning of the video? Would you need to block traffic from 30 meters of the take-off point? I am in USA, so the rules are a little different. I am learning about roof inspections before getting started. I need to learn my local rules about take-off zones.
