I’m a vegetarian and I just moved to Texas lol … I’ve never seen more stunned expressions then when I say “I don’t eat meat” The Texans I’ve met so far have no idea what to say! … I never knew Texas would be SO DIFFERENT from Oregon but I have to say it feels like an alternate reality lol
I did not expect you to mash together pieces of gardein for the chik’n patty 😝 this is the first time I’ve watched one of your videos and I love your chill voiceover. subscribed!
Thank you for what you do! Your content is more then just delicious plant based food. It’s helping change our world by making it easier for us to make better food choices! 🙂
I loved this! I just found your channel and I’m going to binge every video. I’m not vegan, but I like the idea of being more aware of my food choices. This video makes eating well and eating with awareness seem much more attainable for me, so thank you!!!!
That looks fantastic. I bought some fresh oil for my deep fryer at the beginning of the month and really need to get started on all of these deliciously greasy treats.
Oh my word!!!! I'm finna try this next week! I'm from Houston, Texas & let me just tell you: after this freeze and no power and no water, I want some gosh darn comfort food!!!! Found you on Twitter & now I'm a subscriber! Holy canoli, this is amazing! Vegan for 3 years now & I'm STILL learning something new every day! P.S. Thank you so so sooo much for this!!!
Oh I hope y'all get out of this awful mess soon! I can't believe what's going on right now. Sending positive thoughts and yes, you definitely deserve some comfort food ASAP! And thank you!
I love when you make food from scratch! I would be happy to see more recipes like the biscuits and less assembling of store bought food, because I usually don't have these things here, and so do your other viewers from outside of the US
Thanks! I prefer to do a mixture of both. Part of my MO is to show non-vegans how easy it is to veganize things by simply swapping stuff. I do plan on making some veggie burgers from scratch though as well and I try to include options for folks who don't have access to the products I use (like you could totally use tofu instead of the Gardein chick'n in this recipe) Thanks for your feedback!
I totally get it! Than maybe consider using Beyond Meat burgers, which are more widely spread around the world and are available to more of your viewers. It might not solve the chick'n or cheese problems, but at least it helps with the burgers. And you are, after all, Thee Burger Dude
next time freeze the grater and possibly a plate to catch the grated butter -- that way you avoid the stickyness that comes with butter thawing. it happens regardless of dairy or non dairy butter
Gardein Chicken strips you can find at Safeway and King Soopers sometimes at Walmart. But yes you can get Ripple at Saeway and King Soopers. Other Plant milks at the grocery store
I use to eat this when I wasn’t vegan to be honest I always thought it was crappy as in mc Donald’s crappy but I know that this one looks really good (crunchy
I made this recipe the other day & it’s an instant hit!! Exactly what I was looking for. Also I was able to get 6 patties from the bag because I made them the size of the biscuit 😋😋😋
Also, the reason you don't overwork the dough is so you don't develop the gluten in the flour. If you do overwork it, you will get a chewy biscuit, and who wants that? The same for pie crust, for the same reason.
Just subscribed. The videos and the recipes are fantastic. I live abroad, and the Gardein is not available here. I am thinking I can use TVP large chunks, rehydrated instead. Or pressed tofu. Then with the dredging and batter, it should still be super delicious. Thanks.
When I saw you make the honey butter I remembered a family from Dalhart, TX when I grew up in Germany as an 8 year old. The husband of the family used to make syrup and butter or margarine mix for pancakes.. I guess this is a Texas thing!
Just a tip since you said you’re not the most familiar with biscuit making😅😅, the dough wasn’t over worked, and more liquid was needed because you packed the flour too tight in the measuring cup. Next time fluff the flour in the bag/jar with a fork thennn use a spoon to fill the measuring cup with the flour and don’t pack the flour in.. 😋 use that trick with any recipe to ensure you get an accurate flour measurement ❤
As a NON vegan hailing from Texas, I really appreciate your take the HBCB and btw you’re not messing with Texas you are innovating a iconic meal from my state good job also much love to you from Texas 👍👌
Hiya can I check the heat for these? In your book pg 127 says 450f(230c/gas8) pg130 says 425f(220c/gas7) so I came to double check here as I’m making them for brunch tomorrow and this video says 475f. Guess I’ll go with the middle one and hope they come out good as they look ✨💕
I’m new to the FryDaddy. Have only used it once...man, does that thing splatter. I love that it’s self regulating, & you can store the oil, but it’s messy. Is that why you chose to use the pot & thermometer route?
You know, I'm not sure why, but the Fry Daddy has stopped producing good results for me. When I check the temp it says 375 but when I've tried cooking with it recently it feels like it's cooking a lot lower. Maybe my thermometer is busted?? Either way I might invest in a different deep fryer. But yeah, it does splatter a bit! You can get a splatter guard.
@@TheeBurgerDude bummer, but good idea! And if you find a better option, let us know. Especially if it stores the oil. If I’m keeping mason jars of oil, on top of having a single use appliance, my house is too small so it doesn’t make much sense for me.
I've never used oat milk, but not sure why it wouldn't work. I always use Ripple or soy milk and have good results. You can try lemon juice or white vinegar, but since plant milks are different they might not thicken up the same.
Please try this with Quorn products. They make the Chiqin through *myco-technology. (*mushrooms that do not taste like mushrooms).😊 I made this for friends that normally eat meat products and through honest review they said " It reminds me of white meat". So close it's almost scary.
As a vegetarian from Texas switching to the vegan lifestyle, thank you! I’ve missed this meal so much 🥺❤️

Thanks! I’ve gotten better with biscuits since this video. I always weigh my flour now 👍🏼
What brand of plantmilk do you use? The one's I've found still end up being sweet, even when I get it unsweetened
I'm using Ripple in this video (and it's what I use pretty much every time). I believe I showed the bottle before I poured it.

I am wanting to make this so much j actually looked it up on RUclips because I want to make them for dinner
Wow^Wow!
(Wow to the Wow factorial)
Everyone is a star on this one 🤣🤣🤣
could we freeze these and eat them later?
I've been binge watching your videos the past few days and now I don't know what you make! 😳😆🤔🤤🙀
Have yet to try vegan honey...looks legit
Definitely watch on x1.5 speed
is it self rising or self raising flour? 🤔🤔
Son of a biscuit! These look amazing!
Wow, I thought I'd never see this again 😔 😊😊
This guy cracks me up
TFS... I started a few years ago just cutting dough with a knife...no re-rolling and who said that we can’t eat square biscuits?
Square biscuits are totally legit! I wanted to do round since it's a copycat recipe.

my buttermilk does not get thick :/ I used oatmilk and a tablespoon of ACV then put it in the fridge to chill. Did I do something wrong?

Oh myyy
Vegan Honey Recipe Link is not working?
Damn this looks good
Is it imperative to flip the chickn when frying…
I'm not even really vegan (the only meat and animal substances i eat are from animals that i know are not being treated hashly) but this looks good!

A side of kale slaw, a glass of apple cider and you've got a meal!
Why not roll into a rectangle and cut square biscuits. You'll get more even layering.
Mmmmmmmmmm
Now you gotta do the honeybbq chicken strip sandwich
I've made them before, but not a video! I can't find Texas Toast anymore so I gotta learn how to make my own!

Oh no you didn’t! 🤤
Please Mr Burger Dude make a kebab 🥙 or a kofta-sandwich video
I'll def look into it!
