I’m really old but leashes were already being used when I started surfing . Just saying if someone started surfing before there were leashes - well that was a LONG time ago
As a child i remember watching surfing competition that was held at night at MAKAHA with search lights spotting the waves and surfers riding the waves to shore. Must of been early 60s! Aloha from westside Oahu.
@@MoviecraftIncyou're right gotta love it. Thing is when first saw it thought it had been edited recently but now I can see it's actually the original sound so that gives context and yes no matter I may like it more or less I gotta love it tells so much about the whole story
Warren Miller, the ski vid master, RIP. This classic reminds me of surfing in the morning, then skiing in the afternoon in California.
Before there were leashes we did a lot of swimming.

....40 mph is really pushing it since I only saw up to 8 footers mostly, above 12 ft is is POSSIBLE with a quick closer but for only 2 seconds....
