The issue here is that senior leadership are swanning off to conferences, having lunch, hearing presentations, collaborating on ideas and decisions and talking to people at work and don't realise the majority of us sit at a desk all day working entirely on a computer.
My company was pushy about getting people back in the office because they had paid lots of money for a newly renovated, larger office space. Then they hired a lot of people fairly quickly and no longer have enough room for everyone to work in the office so they're encouraging people to flex lol. Mind you, the company had its most profitable year while we were mandatory WFH. It's nuts.
Remote work has changed my life and financial future. I live in Lousy Louisiana, and the job I had in 2020 paid like 20k a year and was forcing us back into the office. No way a single person could live off of that. Because I left that job for another job that was remote first and headquartered out of state, my salary increased by 125% for the same type of job. Remote work has changed the game for ppl like me who were completely blocked from opportunities based on geographical location. My productivity has never been better, and I really did not like the constant interruptions from team members talking about their kids or whatever when I was trying to work. School taught us there is a time and place for chitchat. Not everyone got the memo. It is the greatest thing to have ever happen honestly and I'm very grateful.
The great thing about having arthritis in the UK is it is a disability if bad enough which meant I could work from home pretty much permanently. They couldn't fire me because it would be discrimination.
As a disabled person, also including some learning disabilities, trying to find a remote job that will accommodate you, or an in-person job that lets you work from home when necessary is often very difficult. At least where I am.
Once they maim everyone who is willing to go into work in the office they are going to have to reverse this position and go back to offering work from home. And if they do that I might actually get a job, as someone with a chronic illness I am not willing to disable myself further Just so corporate real estate investors can make more money
Exactly 💯 to me, people have totally went down hill. I work a hybrid and have to be in office 3 days out the week, I can hardly take 3 days with them people , I have been using up vacation time on those days 🙃 I never use them on my work from home days so I can spread them out
Working in person gaslighting is gross You can’t convince me that being in a group session Forced btw Is fun That’s a losing argument It’s dumb That’s the thing with CEOs They’ll never work harder than it’s employees
Prior to Covid only those in upper management will work from home and we were told not to ever bother them. Now we’re from home isn’t really special. Anyone can do it if their job allows and if their job is just a regular desk job. But of course, as plebeians can’t do that only the leaders. /s
The WFH system allowed/s companies to heir employees from anywhere instead of only around the local area. It also allowed the employees to live wherever they found it affordable for them to live as well...
So people in work to home Could make food at home do laundry do mundane chores at home while in idle at work And people were happy and made it work Going into work is what a low work Low effort No backbone CEO Who is very confident making rules on paper and not tell in a meeting but is a complete coward to criticism Office culture is what managers and CEOs and company owners advocate to make sure unions don’t happen If they can’t see you unionize They won’t feel safe
tbf influencers work is not a 9-5 desk job they are self employed and a big part of their job is filming themselves so technically they are working in those videos when they are shopping and eating out
Honestly, I prefer a hybrid schedule-having worked solely from home for 5 years in my career. But i don’t think it should be mandatory-especially for those who are extremely productive working remotely
I know “conditions are improving” is a joke, but do y’all know how bad it is? I looked at the Wallgreens index yesterday and the positivity rate is like 25% nationally, in my state it is as high as 30%. Now I understand that the only people getting tested at Wallgreens are people who feel sick, but that’s still abysmal. Furthermore the wastewater levels on Biobot show the levels the week of 10/12 are the higher this year than the same week every year except last year. So this is the second highest mid October measurement of all the four years they’ve been measuring. Not over. Wear a mask.
Great I'll move to the Philippines. Also they could save millions of dollars on office space rent which would be much more profitable to their bottom line.
If you think us sitting in an office here will stop a big company outsourcing to cheaper overseas labour you have more faith in big companies than I do

“Instead of being happy and separated, we want them to be ANGRY… and TOGETHER!” 🤣🤣🤣😂🤣🤣🤣

HR will find a workaround, they did with me when I broke my foot.

Trying to find a job period is hard in general
Why can't people just say that they don't want to be around other people anymore?

We never had the option to wfh here in Korea. As I get ready to return home, I find this content shocking and informative. Thanks
This is a great video if you want your cortisol levels to go up.
Boss: come back into the office. Me: I quit, bye.
So people in work to home

Maybe those influencers should stop filming their daily life working from home while shopping and eating out.
Honestly those day in the life videos piss me the fuck off

Lololol, ZOOM demanding RTO…….why would any company need zoom if everyone is in the office. Are they stupid?

4 days is just to much. Maybe 2 days a week max.
Cute opinion.

just stop with the fearmongering…wear a mask all you want, but the rest of us want to be able to breathe.
They must have to justify the rent payments.

A compilation of Americans complaining about having to go back into the office…. WILD
As soon as I have to return, I quit
15:07 WHAT IS THAT? 😱

you to quit.

Virtual is make believe.... just keep making believe you have a job and live in your make believe house and eat make belive food
If your job can be done from your house it can probably be done from the Philippines. Be careful what you wish for.
Great I'll move to the Philippines. Also they could save millions of dollars on office space rent which would be much more profitable to their bottom line.
Nit every company can do that

They already outsource whatever they can, it has been like this for years, so this argument doesn't work.
O no, you had to leave. You're home to work? How will you survive?
