- Thank you for your service, Fernando Torres.
Far too often we are reminded of how little time we have left with the #GreatestGeneration. The sense of urgency heightens with each passing moment to make sure these men and women are remembered for their incredible acts of service during #WWII.
We were so fortunate to be able to take Fernando back to #Holland in 2018 for the first time since WWII. It meant so much to him, and to us. He shared with us wonderful stories and had such a good time talking shop with the other veterans with us. Just imagine going back to somewhere that has held so much significance in your mind for so many years. It was incredible for us to give him that gift.
He was supposed to go to #PearlHarbor with us this December, but he unexpectedly passed away recently at the age of 99. What a long and beautiful life lived. We will miss him greatly, but he will be with us in spirit at Pearl Harbor this year.
Rest in peace, Fernando Torres.

This is what an American looks like. This is by far the GREATEST GENERATION to have ever lived.
"..Dec the 16th, 1944". Exactly eight years later, I was born into a free world. I don't think I fully appreciated that until now. Thank you so much brave sir. 🙏🕯️🙏

Since WW II, no major wars. Oh little ones, yes, but we are currently in the longest period of world peace in ALL OF HISTORY.

My God!!! You always make a way for my tears to fall down from my eyes. That's life, these warriors were born before any of us in here, had to go through the most deadly time in history, which made them unforgettable for ever. Then they leave one day.........always teaching us to learn from it. Such great men, great people who sacrificed themselves for this future for their kids at that time.
