Totally keen to try this at home. I recently looked at buying them online and was a bit gobsmacked by the prices. Thank you for showing us how to do it. 🙂
Thank you for actually pointing out the obvious! I have watched soooo many videos of how to mix this properly, I also have the cheap affordable zip sealed 52 colour set, I'm sorry if that reads bad, but I can't afford the brand names already bonded! But I couldn't understand why some of the packets were half empty! I now know it's a weight thing and not a volume thing The Gum Arabic is 1-4 ratio not 1 scoop to 4 scoops ratio, It all needs measured in weight 👌 Good call btw. I have tried Everything and failed, even the 'hairspray fix' 🙄 but you just fixed it all....thank you sooo much haha 😉
Very nice! Thanks for the demonstration, I wanted to try to make some shimmery colours, got the mica powders but didn’t really know what to do next without investing into a whole range of extra products, so I like the method you show that only involves liquid gum Arabic. Thank you so much! 😃 will try it tomorrow 😊
I’m glad you found it helpful! Do take a look at the blog post I wrote about making the shimmering watercolours. I found that by adding a little bit of glycerin to the liquid gum Arabic improved the rewetting properties of the watercolours.
I accidentally added a little bit too much liquid and then I added more powder. It is pretty high and will probably take longer to dry out, so hopefully it still works. I’ve also been adding glitter to all of them. Do you think there will be a problem with the bigger one or other ones?
This was SO helpful! I would like to have glycerin available too, but there are a lot of varieties out there and I'm not really sure which one is the "right" one?

I don’t think watercolours are the best paints to use on polymer clay as it doesn’t absorb liquids. I have made shimmering paints by mixing mica powder with PVA glue. I haven’t tried it but it feels like this would be better on polymer clay.
I’m afraid I’m not an expert in making watercolours. This was my first attempt. I’ve used PVA to make a kind of acrylic paint. Others use gum tragacanth but gum Arabic, along with glycerin or honey are the most popular mediums.

The banging it on the table to make it liquid was truly science in action, love it!! 🎨
Thank you! That’s my favourite part too 😀

Thank you for this beautiful video. Most appreciated. Hello from NZ ! ❤
Now I understand why it is so expensive, thank you for sharing. ❤🎉
I use metallic eye shadow powder from Dollar Tree to do this sort of thing
Brilliant, I’ll have to give that a try!
A tiny bit of honey could be put in along with glycerine for rewettability. These are beautiful!
Thank you for that, that’s really helpful!
Incredible. Thank you so much!
You are very welcome! ♥️

Thank you so much. I just used a little baker’s glycerin from the supermarket and it worked well.
That gold is gorgeous
That’s one of my favourites too!
Amazing!!
Thank you!!
Wow ❤
♥️🥰
What happens if everything is uneven and too much Arabic gum is added?
Omgosh thank you so much
You’re very welcome!
Can we
Use on walls
I would use them as you would use any watercolours.

Can you use this paint over polymer clay and can you seal it?

What can be used instead of Arabic gum
