Great job on explaining about that and showing where it is located. This video is very easy to understand great camerawork and great explanation. I paid the dealer $527 to replace the seal on that because it was leaking.
You did great job You are awesome You helped me figure out the sensors position and replacing them My problem with my 09 corolla is it takes five seconds of cranking then It turns on With watching all the videos related to same problem thar i have I got the idea that i would start replacing camshaft first which is in very easy place then if it didn’t Then the second would be crank shaft which is the one you showed us now Thanks a million With no check engine light
I had this code p0016 and p0013, all p0300,01,02,03,04. Had a fram oil filter Castrol 5w/30 high mileage oil. Changed oil 5w/20 full synthetic and wix o I’ll filter! Used oreillis brand oil! Let it run was running rough. After 20 mins it smoothen out! Cleared codes etc... make sure to change oil on time. Do not cheap out on oil filters! Use wix, oem or any good quality oil filter!
At 10 years old, the symptom of the car: run & dies out at stop lights /or stop sign, no check engine light Crankshaft Position Sensor was caked with metal grits: you can clean but best to replace it.
My wife's car is 2013 Corolla. I am showing a code for the crank angle sensor going bad. I watched a video for this 2009 Toyota, and another one for 2007-2013 Toyota(Yiannis, who is very good here), which turned out to be more involved, with the sensor cable clipped to the dipstick tube, and involved removing the alternator. I guess I will just have to open it up, and figure out which approach will work for us.
Daniel H97055, do you know what is that part name (0:51) has a plug w/bright bolt, next to Camshaft Sensor? 2009 Corolla has two Camshaft Sensors. One in the front (0:51) and the second is in the back.
@@DanielH97055 On a dual camshaft, there is one in the front & the other in the back. Go straight back from Camshaft front (1:07) to grey cable. Move that cable and you will see the second camshaft sensor.

Replace sensor cleaning wouldn't help if the sensor is bad. If it still gives you code with new sensor you have an alignment issue that I couldn't help you with.
@@DanielH97055 and if it is not bad (I mean without damaging just metal on it surface) can i remove this metal and rust or anything stuck, and will it affect on performance?
Hi, i have a toyota Yaris 1.33 2009 restyling, i have ordered a camshaft position sensor and i'm waiting for it. I'm not sure of the position of the camshaft sensor, cause on the 2007 yaris i've seen a video which shows where it is, but on the 2009 yaris i can't see it in the same place.... Maybe i have found it seeing your video cause there is a sensor in the same position, so i have disassembled it and taken some pictures. i would like to send you these pictures on your e-mail so you can confirm it. i would really appreciate it.
What's wrong with your 09 corolla? Mine cranks longer than usual before starting and when I'm stop at a red light, rpm would drop to about 500 and it seems like its going to stall.
@@simonrileyg I'm going to inspect the crankshaft sensor on my car this weekend and see if it needs replacement. Seems an easy fix. But an OEM replacement sensor costs about $106.00 that's why I dont want to buy it yet until after I checked the current one. I will keep you posted.
Good luck trying to find the Knock Sensor & PCV Valve... Very bad designs. One has to scream at Toyota because you have to remove Air Assy & Exhaust Manifold out. Then you have to replace the Manifold gasket & hope you didn't break any wire when put all back.
Pcv valve you have to remove the air intake in the front (black plastic), then you will see it on the right side from a black hose connected to it to the engine block. Knock sensor.. please advise.
@@kito1san Well, looking from the front as you open the hood, the Knock Sensor is located in back of the Intake Manifold, left side. You will need to replace the Intake Manifold's Gasket once you removed it out. You can not get to the Knock Sensor without removing the Intake Manifold.

what code did you get ? with the engine light
0:58 camshaft position sensor
2:55 crankshaft position sensor

Where do you buy the sensors?
Do you know what that other sensor is called above the hard to reach one? I have oil leaking from there. It's a right above that stop plug
