This is great. I have some powder type TSP left over from my painting project, so I'm really happy to be able to use it again.

TSP been around for over 50 years it’s a awesome cleaner, we were painters and use this to clean kitchens and bathroom walls before painting. I never use gloves funny now I do.

      Hello,
I understand that beside cleaning the surface to paint it also dulls it, true or false?
I need to paint over a semigloss surface. Would cleaning the surface with TSP allow me to put a new semigloss coat on without a primer?

Very informative video thank you. Just an fyi, although it's called TSP, the formula used in this video does not contain Trisodium Phosphate which is the magic ingredient. It is a substitute which is phosphate free and therefore less hazardous and more eco-friendly. Although it does clean well, the trade-off is that it's not *as effective* as true Trisodium phosphate for more heavier jobs like barbeque grills and rust. Many stores still carry both versions, true Trisodium phosphate and substitute.

thank you thank you - I used TSP years ago for cleaning sidewalks (like 40 years ago) and I forgot how good it works - I used the powder and will look for that

What if your cabinets have been painted? Can This clean them without eating paint off the cabinet?

  • @angiecastillo5291

Is this for general cleaning? Or for befor you paint them?

    • @annemariechilds5644

TSP can etch some surfaces so, I would not recommend using it for general cleaning.

7:10, that moment you wish you had longer gloves😉. I think steel wool or brush could possibly damage the knobs or pulls, I'd stick with plastic. Good video overall.

It appears laying them flat may let the tsp absorb into the grime better imo.

So how is it now? Does it clean years of grease/oil? I also have a 20+ yrs old rental house with tons of oily grease over cabinet fronts. Still looking for a best way to remove it so I don't have to buy a new one. Some said use WD-40, Murphy Oil Soap, and Armor All weather Extreme Wheel & Tire Cleaner, now this vid said TSP, so not sure which one is cheap+most effective way. Let me know. Thanks & Happy New Yr :)!

Murphy's is not that good. It will build up and leave them sticky.

    • @ajjames2148
      @ajjames2148 5 лет назад +2

Ben Shuetrim the tsp will dull the finish too.. doesn’t matter what you wipe it down with. Even a dry rag will dull the finish. Generally, TSP is used to prep cabinets for refinishing/painting.

Murphy's oil soap is a good natural cleaner that won't hurt you or mess up the cabinets

How many cabinet doors down you think the bottle will be good for. Or that one gallon of mixture can be used continously. I have the entire stove and cabinets in need to clean but don't have the strength in my hands to actually scrub so I need something good and simple

Thanks for the information on tsp and the tutorial.
I need to clean the ceiling and the top of the walls but I do not want to get on a ladder, can I use a sponge mop?
Would it be safe to use a bottle sprayer to get it on the walls and then scrub it with a steam cleaner machine?

I am sorry to say, as far as i saw, she got as much crap of that door as i get off(if not more) from a 1£ store kitchen cleaner, also she was saying you may need to rinse a few times, well feck that! i wanna spray, have a cuppa Tea maybe a smoke, then go in with a rinse wipe off!! ........I Personally use Melamine Sponges, with just hot water. They break easy, but i just buy them cheap on Ebay and as many as i can get for a good price, them things clean EVERYTHING without chemicals. .........Peeps go get a couple and come bk to this comment and let me know how they worked for you guys!!
If they work like i said let me know, also if they didnt just say hey mich they were shyte? xx
