    I test drove 2 ND's earlier this year, then absolutely fell in love with the first NC2 I drove. Somehow the NC feels so much more alive, way more mechanically connected. The ND was very smooth but you feel isolated from the engine and front wheels, the NC throws all of that vibration and texture through to the driver and it's amazing. Both wonderful, but an NC Club is perfect in my opinion

    • @DillonShelburn

      I can definitely relate to that after driving both.

      Anyone who feels this way is someone who’s opinion I respect. The ND is a great daily but the NC2 is a better sports car.

      That alive feeling, from what I'm aware of, is likely the NC's hydraulic steering vs the ND's electric power steering.

    • @waynepurcell6058
      @waynepurcell6058 Год назад

      The reason you felt all the vibration and "texture" is because the seats are probably the worst ever devised by a car manufacturer. I'm not throwing shade, I own one, the seats suck at a +10 level.

    • @brandonsever2576
      @brandonsever2576 Год назад

      @@waynepurcell6058 interesting, I actually didn't like the base seats in either the NC or ND. Crappy seats could very well be a factor, but I'm pretty positive the feeling I'm talking about came from the hydraulic steering and older shifter design. EPS makes mostly everything feel a bit dull. My current BMW E92 coupe has better feeling steering than any ND I've tried, despite weighing 1k lbs more

    I'm in my 50s and 6'0" 245lbs. I find that I fit in my NC2 Miata much better than my previous NA or the ND I've tried. The NC is the perfect blend of fun and comfort for me.

    I agree. I have a 2012 NC and I love it. It's the best Miata ever. Glove box, 4 cup holders, hydraulic steering wheel, one exhaust on each side, and longer transmission shifts like you said. True red color!. Great review!

      I'm biased but the true red rag top looks like a classic sports car. Feels modern but retro.

    This is crazy, I was just watching videos on NC Miatas and saw my car in this one, the blue Si. My group and I stayed in a cabin. Blue si, white s4, 3 Mustang GTs, a gt350, and a couple bikes.
    Cool car!

    We did the dragon in our RC350 F sport a year ago, but just picked up an NC1 PRHT and I'm dying to get it to Deal's Gap. Less HP but I'd guess twice the fun. I had a 2004 and I really don't know why I got rid of it. These are truthfully special cars. You'll lose nearly every drag race, but it they put a curve in the straightaway you have a chance!

      @@MuscleBandit yep, I had it installed about 6 months ago, it's great. Car pulls beautifully from about 3500rpm all the way to the redline. She now has 205hp at the fly so 175 at the wheels. That's the power it should have had from the factory. I also replaced the IL Motorsports back box with a cobra race back box and it sounds amazing now. I put a shirt vid up on YT, search ' cobra race' and you'll hear what it's like with the bbr 200 package

    A Flyin' Miata Clutch happy meal light flywheel does wonders, but you do get transmission chatter.

    Two problems with this video. The car is not 2300 lbs, closer to 2600 with prht and all options. And in video description you said it has long gears. It takes 3 shifts to get to 60mph and revs at almost 4000rpm at about 70mph.

    • @senseisambo
      @senseisambo Год назад +2

      No kidding!! I wondered if this is a 5 speed the way he was saying the owner rarely gets into 5th on the highway. I end up in 6th driving around town! I literally clicked on this video in hopes he would be discussing 3.60ish gear swap or something.

    Interesting that you say it feels wider than the ND, while the ND is actually 15mm wider than the NC. I guess the ND looks a bit smaller and sleeker (despite being actually larger) because it has this low tapered bonnet and possibly thicker doors, so the seats might be a bit closer together

    why do people fit massive tyres on these cars? The whole point is the chassis is playful, and that you can get the back end to kick out a little. Stick 235's on it and you might as well get a 4wd car, it'll have zero playfulness and you'll have increased the unsprung weight. Well done, you just made your car worse.

      I have 235 300 treadwear summer tires on my NC and they took nothing away from the character. It still happily oversteers on request, it's just more confidence inspiring when I want it to be. If anything took away from the car it's the MeisterR Clubsports because the car feels so much more balanced through corners and the limit is so much higher than the OEM Bilsteins.
      Edit: I should include that I'm catless header with a tune, but I doubt that 15 extra (optimistic) horsepower does much for the character.

  • @particleinthewave8378

    Love my NC2…PRHT! I had an NB and while it was fun the NC fits my body better. I’m 6 ft and 225-230 so that extra inch in width comes in handy plus having a full hardtop that I don’t have to leave in the garage is great. I drove the ND1 RF, nice car and I think it’s beautiful but it’s lacking in storage and a little more cramped I just didn’t like the targa top feel. If that top was fully retractable like my NC I would have spent the extra 8-10K. Thankfully for my wallet it doesn’t!

  • @FJB8646

    There’s no way anyone in a NC3 is going to travel down the highway without getting out of third unless you drive at 40 mph. Lol

    • @DillonShelburn
      @DillonShelburn  7 месяцев назад

      An NC usually tops out around 80mph in third gear, in stock form. That means you could travel down a highway and theoretically stay in third gear. Even with wider wheels/tires, you still could. It’s subjective as to if you want to, but you absolutely can.
