- Baby orangutan Batis has spent half his life locked up all alone in a tiny wooden crate. He is just six months old and should still be clinging to his mother high up in the trees. Instead, he was captured and kept in a filthy wooden crate, with just scraps of food and coffee being fed to him through the gaps.

When the IAR Indonesia and BKSDA rescue team reached him, he was crying out in fear and distress. They acted quickly to remove him from his dark prison - it was the first time he had been let out in three months.
This tiny baby has been rushed to the rescue centre, where he is currently in quarantine receiving urgent medical care.

The team are working round the clock to save lives, despite the many restrictions currently in place. Masks and gloves, which are essential when carrying out these emergency rescues, are now incredibly expensive and hard to source. Coffee and sugar cane? In the dark? Its a small miracle he survived! The fear...when being pulled from box, the grip on the lovely doctor... The teddy bear comforter... the first drink from bottle...A Tremendous rescue... I hope to donate next month.. I'm not rich, but animals need it more..

I've been sending them 12 dollars a month for a couple of years now. It doesn't feel like a lot but it's something they can count on every single month. If everyone on the planet gave a penny their problems would be over, so don't let worrying it's "not enough" keep you from doing it.

Please do a followup and let us know how he does. My heart breaks for this poor creature. Sentient and a baby, orphaned, and terrorized by heartless humans. I can not begin to verbalize the punishment I would inflict on these human monsters. Thank God he is in safer hands now. I hope he can recover his health and thrive. When you watch this, you've got to wonder who are really the "animals."

What happened to that animal is horrible, but I have as suspicion that some, not all, of these writers are not as concerned about the hundreds of human babies killed in the womb daily, before they are born I hope I am wrong in this suspicion.

I don' t understand one thing: I have pet, cause i like his nature, I like it looks like, I like it near by me, I love it as a part oft my family. So, why put someone bis " pet" in a dark box, out of the family, allone..... What kind oft " pet" is it and why need people that?
That's NOT a pet. Pets are loved and a PART OF THE FAMILY!
Because not all humans are equipped with compassion, love and care for pet animals...most humans who try to own pets just want a soul they can manipulate and control. As we know, orangutan is a wild and very dangerous animal. They can’t be “controlled” with discipline like humans...only patients and real respect. They get tied up because they are wild and probably scared the shit out of the owner/poacher/stupid person. You have to love animals to even consider this and even at that point the love is so very selfish...animals like these should not be domesticated unless they would die in the wild. But even under those circumstances they should have a ton of space to be semi-wild.

This beautiful little creature is beyond terrified. Obviously those people are trying to help it but it doesn't know that yet. I see nothing being comforted and held by those people is beyond what I can describe in my heart. I want to help one I want to comfort one and loved one and help rehabilitate.

Induknya dibunuh,bayinya diambil,diurusnya aja ala kadarnya.Lama2 bayi orang utan ini bisa jadi dijual.
Pantas saja banyak bencana menimpa bangsa kita,karena tdk bersyukur.5 Allah menganugrahkan banyak kekayaan alam,flora,fauna,satwa langka yg hanya ada di Indonesia.Harusnya penegakan hukum itu seperti di negara2 maju lainnya,keras dan konsisten.
Di kita ini kan hukum nggak keras tidsk membuat orang jadi jera.Sedangkan penduduk kita be ratus2 jumlahnya dengan ( maaf) sdm yg kebanyakan masih dibawah standar.
Terima kasih buat semua team resque yg telah menyelamatkan 1 dari sekian banyak yg telah diselamatkan.Semoga Allah membalas semua usaha dan kebaikan kalian semua,dan mudah2an pula satwa2 langka kita tidak betul2 punah yg nantinya hanya tinggal cerita buat anak cucu kita bahwa Indonesia pernah punya kekayaan satwa yg lucu2 yg banyak jenisnya,aamiin...

I will never understand why the rescued animal cannot ride in the truck while being held and feeling safe instead of shoved into another cage in the back of a bouncy truck!
Maybe if they start putting these assholes in jail and slamming them with huge fines they would stop trying to keep this precious babies as pets. But as long as nothing is done to stop it. It is going to continue to happen. So glad you guys are there to save them.
