Real beautiful truck, Mine is 1997 f350 Crew Cab, I'm the original owner, paid 29,000 for it , told my wife that this is the last new truck I will ever buy. 188000 miles all Original. A Guy wanted to buy it the other day, I told him to talk to my wife....at my funeral 😂😂
Modifying a 7.3 is definitely expensive for the power you get out of it, but no new Diesel will put a smile on my face like an old 7.3 doing Mach 420 down the road
I just got a 95 f-350 dually for my 3 car carrier. Gotnit fom my friend that was doing same thing he gotnout of it and sold it to me. Its well taken cared and stock. Before by 06 Duramax LBZ gets rebuilt that Ford will be my primary work truck. Its my first Ford and learning a lot about those 7.3s.
$30K over the years for your passion isn't as bad as it seems. For $30K you could go buy a stock high mileage newer truck but then you'd have to wonder about how it was maintained, and it would most likely be stock. I like seeing these older trucks being loved and modified. You definitely have more fun with this than spending $30K on another used truck.
Love my 200,000 mile 1997 F350 Crew Cab 7.3 I’ve owned for 13 years. Put in a Banks Intercooler, 160/0 Injectors with 1023 tunes on my Hydra, trans upgrades, for less than a down payment on a new truck and it does everything a newer one can do.
Very cool truck, always enjoy seeing your videos. There's not many dedicated 7.3 channels out there. I like how you're so passionate about the 7.3 and enjoy sharing it with others. You've got a unique thing going and your truck is a very nice example. I enjoy learning about the modifications you can do to the 7.3 to gain more power. I'd be interested in hearing about your high pressure oil pump assuming it's aftermarket. Keep up the great work!
I have a bone stock '96 FSeries 7.3L Powerstroke I bought in 2019 that had 26,200 original miles on it and just turned 29,500 miles last week. I had to have the automatic transmission rebuilt because the firedept I bought it from got the thing stuck a few times on Camp Attabury helping put out grass fires and were hard on that trans. I have no idea what I want to do with it other than get more top end out of it. The thing can tow an oil tanker and never break a sweat! It's got Dana 70's with 5:13's.
Where can you get some of those original side steps for the truck? I just bought a 1995 not long ago no side steps yet but I like those orginal ones like you got that come with these trucks sometimes ? Thank you
I bought a 97 7.3 f250hd 5 speed in decent shape for 7k$ I've put in about 15k$ into it to have it running dependable, new tires, airbags , rebuilt injectors, etc ,older vehicles cost money to keep running
That’s a hell of a lot cheaper than my 6.7 Powerstroke. On my OBS it might go 400hp and I’m into that about 8k but I have a ZF5 so my trans cost is substantially lower. There is something about the 7.3 that just gives you satisfaction unlike any other platform.
Could you please direct me to a great and knowledgeable shop that can do a frame off restoration?? I am in California and have 1997 F350 crew cab 7.3 diesel. I ready money wise to restore her to her factory glory and some extras. I would be willing to get her done in another state. Thank you for your time , Frank
Brandon, thanks for the details man, I've had my 02' for almost 15 years now and love it. I've got the KC 300x, 238/80's and Irate fuel system and couldn't be happier.

Bought my 00 in 08 with 130k on it to use for hauling my rock crawler bronco, camper and my sandblasting trailer. I finally have ALL pieces and parts for MY upgrade plan, KC turbo, CNC 160s, hydra with jellibuilt towing tunes and an upgraded valvebody for the transmission. It currently has 230k miles. I can't wait to get parts in and tow my broncos.
I drove my 97 7.3 for a long time too and still have it but it’s tough to justify dumping money into when it’s so easy to go fast in newer stuff. Tuned 3.5 ecoboost f150 is just so easy lol
I love the truck . Diesel arent cheap like gassers. I allwayd liked the older ford's even the newer ones are nice but love the cummins platform . I have 3 rams. Diesels 89 01 08. I don't like the dodge truck so much but a 1000hp fuel only is easy and not as expensive as other trucks. The only thing throws me off about new trucks is having to remove the cab to do any major work.
The feeling when you floor it is priceless though! Awesome video I too have a 7.3 in the obs and did so for my love of the body style. For now it has the baby swamps, kc balanced assembly, and custom tuning through a hydra. No where near the ponies your pushing out but it all came on the truck when I purchased it, so it's fun enough until I go t4. I will admit I'm pretty rough on it and has held up so far as well. Love the channel 🤙
What would you think on taking your front tank and turning that into a reservoir tank then swapping out the rear rear a 40 gallon tank with a sump pump in it? I have a 1997 crew cab long bed so just wondering
Having trouble with o rings on a set of rebuilt injectors. I bought them from full force diesel ran for a month and left me stranded. Pulled 4 in them and top oil ring was ate away. What’s the fix?
Building my first 7.3 right now. I don’t personally know a lot of guys pumping power out of a 7.3. My build should be pushing 600hp on paper. Question?!? Do you run a ccv mod or keep it ported to the air intake ??

Im looking for reliability not so much power. I live in south texas and want a truck and eventually a camper to drive back to cali to see family whenever we feel like it. I hate flying.
Currently restoring a 93 idi turbo. Any recommendations of things I should upgrade while doing this? I'm going for an original build but its going to be a complete frame off and will be my tow pig. I'm new to the obs/diesel life any help much appreciated I'm documenting the journey on my channel.
ok brandon i have a 2002 7.3 excursion with 180k on it , with that said i want to replace injectors and get a bigger turbo and a new tuner . what would you install if it was yours , i use it as a daily driver and tow a 10k boat with it every weekend . not looking to race it !!
I’d say a set of 160/80% or a 205/30% with a drop in KC turbo would be solid. I always recommend a T4 mount turbo system but they’re a little pricey. Just opens you up to more turbo options!
I wonder if it's worth me keeping my 1996 f super duty 7.3 5 speed as a daily work horse long term. I'm debating if I should keep it or get something newer. Any thoughts?

I’d like to build mine to around 450-500hp. Any idea what that would cost? I’d imagine the price point to build these is exponential (you pay substantially more for that next 50hp)
I have a 7.3, valve springs, pushrods, t4 turbo kit s634.5, intercooler, down pipe etc. Everything you need. 238/80 injectors. I'm making 535wph an 1300+ ftlbs. It cost me like fuckin 12k. Threw a rod got a new motor dropping it in now. Old motor had been beat by previous owner. Never maintained etc. So well see how this new one will last.

In my opinion, a hydra chip duty good tunes, upgraded high pressure oil pump, and intake/exhaust. All can make a really solid stock running truck.
What would you recommend upgrading first? Injectors, tranny, or internals?
Transmission will be the first to break with engine upgrades. I’d do that first!
