Rob is killing it, the longer vids are like motion comics movies, the immersion feel is pretty epic. I didn't even know channels like this existed, up until about 5 months ago. Now it's by far my favorite one. Can't wait to see him reach the million subscriber mark.

Cool Gamer haven't u been keeping up now the speedforce was basically created by barry running and it has been established that barry had the best control over the speedforce meaning he is so fucking broken but the writers will never give him his full power cuz if they do they wont be able to find him a villain to fight imagine someone who is faster than wally west who literally broke speed he was faster than teleportation and has all the other powers of the speedforce since he apparently completely control it i think u can consider him sentient at that point

DUUUUUUDE!!!! ROB! You NEED to read Geoff Johns run on green lantern. If you loved this story, your mind is going to be blown to pieces by the Geoff Johns run!!!!!! It is literally known as one of the greatest runs by a writer, EVER!!! It's up there with Lee/Ditko Spiderman, Claremont X-Men, and Miller Daredevil; it's AMAZING! Also make sure you read the Green Lantern Corps along with it, Guy Gardner does some badass shit there!

Scott Snyders run on Batman was better. It's like untouchable from anything in the last 15 years at least. It's the best run on Batman since Paul Dini and Bruce Timms' run on Batman and Superman in the 90s and early 2000s, which is imo the best run of all time of any characters. Dini's Superman and Batman shaped he mordern DCU as we know it today it's the run most of us grew up on in the mid - late 90s if you're in your 20s or early 30s... Paul Dini IS Superman and Batman...... but anyways my point is that Snyder's run is like right up there with Dini's, And Geoff Johns does awesome on Superman too. Even if GL is his thing. I like him a lot on Superman.. Like Men of Tomorrow was Epic AF, he's the one the made the most like ultimate power ever - the solar flare - Johns just writes everything he's on good dude.

Geoff John's Green Lantern run was maybe the best story in comics at least in my opinion. This story embodies what makes green lantern so great, what makes Hall Jordan so great, what makes Guy Gardener so great, what makes the GLC so great. You should cover the original rebirth and Sinestro corps war. In rebirth green arrow has a one liner he says to Sinestro that is hilarious. I like Marvel more than DC but GL will always be my favorite story in comics hands down

foley247 well batman and green lantern 2 of the better DC series there is. and quit frankly Marvel universe story are generally lacking unless good writers are on them like the Dan Abnett Nova run and such.

Thanks rob, I had the pleasure of starting GL around Sinestro Core war. After Johns left it felt like a lot of the books changed for the sake of change, not because of good storytelling. After this video (and the love of all things rebirth) I'm going to pick these issues up and renew my love of GL. You should honestly read johns run, each arc of his is almost self contained, but leaves a trail that makes you beg to know what's coming next.
The joy you brought at this one is just amazing. I love green lantern and following you was the best thing I've done for a while. Thank you so much!

It's good to see DC really amping up the Green Lanterns and showing that cosmic scale again. I've been missing that in recent years. Somewhere along the line with so many different prismatic lanterns, the corp got lost. Nice to see it at a high level again! DC still knocking it out of the park!

Lets be honest here, Green Lantern was never popular until Geoff Johns took over. He single-handly made that comic as popular and profitable as Batman.
I know you're not a huge DC fan. And I know you are loving the Green Lanterns run as well. But these stories, the Green Lantern stories, are the reason that I went back to DC from Marvel. The Green Lantern books have been my favorites from Rebirth.

Ever since they started all the different lantern corps it has just gotten better with time. Sure it has her dips in the past but really once they started down the path of other corps. It has led to so many good stories like this one and those of us who had left it came back.

Im with you Rob, never been huge into the Lantern stuff, always enjoyed them, Red and Green Corps being my favorite, but HOLY CRAPTASTIC!! Not only was this story freaking amazing! But it makes me regret SO much not starting with either Lantern title Rebirth, now ill have to wait until the beginning of the year for the trades, wishing i was reading Lanterns and Superman, now the bitter wait. Thanks for the great vid once again.

This is why I genuinely think that DC Films could easily do an entire cinematic universe just based off of the lore of the Lanterns. It is just so fucking epic and amazing... plus it'd be an excuse for them to do a movie adaptation of Blackest Night... Superhero Zombies with Lantern powers, nuff said.

t84t748748t6 Yeah, they do, and it's planned for about 2020, I believe. Also, Suicide Squad was far from a flop. It may have been critically panned, but it was a financial success.

Yeop, that comparison is spot on. Johns wrote GL for about 12 years!!! Since GL Rebirth, back in 04/05. Right before Johns wrote Infinite Crisis, which he wrote while writing Green Lantern, at the same time!!!
One of the few Rebirth DC series that has amazing writing and picks up exactly where it left off in the new 52 series. It merges both new 52 with elements of pre-new52 seamlessly. Amazing story, amazing fight scenes. We also get to see how the story is evolving beyond the new 52 arc. I've been reading the rebirth series and the Hall Jordan and the green lantern series is one of the most amazing piece of writings out of the DC rebirth series.
Another great series of the rebirth arc is the wonder woman story line. DC is pulling out some of the most amazing writings in the Rebirth series..
Hi, I was interested in reading DC comics and so started watching Comics explained's DC rebirth Phase 1 playlist. Comics explained mentioned a lot of Green lantern events which weren't in the videos of the playlist. So are those events belonging to New 52 or DC rebirth

Guy was more badass as a red lantern
I liked him as a Red Lantern as well and I had this idea of instead of the Green Lantern Corps what if all the colors got amalgamated into one Lantern Corp because what is a Corps but a military unit consisting of several divisions? Why not make those divisions each color. The only problem with that is you'd have to give up the status quo of the other colors being villains.
+LunaticReason I do believe that there was a white lantern at one point thanks to all the colours merging into hal or his ring I can't remember which. I'm sure rob has already done a video on it as well if you have a little ponder back thru his catalogue of vids you should find the said video.

Robert Venditti's run is just amazing, I was reading his X-O Manowar run and I am excited that he gets to tell his space opera like stories with the most iconic space hero. His portrayal of Guy Gardener and John Stewart are the coolest!!!!

Yep. After he made Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz the green lanterns of earth, he went and did all this stuff.
ComicsExplained it might take months but you should definitely try to do some of the geoff johns run its just too amazing, i have no clue where you'll start or if you'll just start from the beginning but you MUST do it, it will make you want to read nothing but green lantern and all the tie ins for the rest of your life!
Amiradi Coolisa Green Lantern Rebirth is a great place to start. It renewed my interest in Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corp. It definitely helps that he treats the Corp like a PD in his storylines
That would be such a daunting task but worth it. Does he go all the way back to just Geoff Johns run or even further with Emerald Twilight /New Dawn?
because if you want someone to understand Hal Jordan as a character than it should be that and Green Lantern: Secret Origin
everything following that is really about Kyle Rayner and the others until Green Lantern: Rebirth where Geoff Johns really hits his stride and puts Hal back in the spotlight again.

Excellent!! As to the Hal Jordan vs Sinestro , I lean toward Sinestro in the Guardian Era and Hal post Gardian, the guardians in my opinion always screwed up more than they fixed and always seemed to trick the Core and Sinestro saw through this!
DC Rebirth is legendary.... Hal Jordan Green Lantern Corps is one of the very best.

Blackest Night, Brightest day, the 3rd army, how has none of those stories shown you how epic the green lantern mythos is?
I was in the same boat as u rob I was g aware of how amazing the green lanterns were until I started listening to Comicstorian he did a bunch of reads on the big green lantern story and he became one of my favorites. I just wish in the team ups they put him in a better light because I feel like batman and superman just get way too much attention.
