    Jamar. This ends everything they say. If a Chinese family moved to Brooklyn in the 60s and a Chinese boy grew up in the hood with blk ppl and acted, dressed, danced etc like the blk ppl and he became a DJ when hiphop started. Would Chinese ppl think they started hiphop? Switch out the Chinese and use jamaican or peurto rican and it's the same. They think because they came around us and imitated us that they original homelands culture started it. And we cant let them. Because these ppl always make it known how they ain't blk or they think they better. Jus like every other ppl. We make everything cool. Always did.

    It’s really about the truth of the culture for Lord Jamar. He’s not bringing legends out to exploit them. He’s not making false claims for the comfort of mainstream connections or celebrity endorsements. This is the realest show on the topic.
    Crazy Legs changing his testimony that the dance element (he’s known for) is what Puerto Rocks called the Moreno style, but now he’s downplaying it, saying Puerto Ricans created it…... Was it ever really love, or were you exploiting Hip Hop with an underlying hatred for Black People to steal fame and commercial opportunities the whole time? SMH.
    Liars are thrives in the temple of Hip Hop.

    • @koguma.newyork1
      @koguma.newyork1 Месяц назад +21

      Exactly! Some Puerto Ricans might have had some love but by and large it seemed like they just tolerated us because they could not be on equal footing with white society. That's what happens when you call them "Spanish" so much it gassed their heads up so much they even started believing it, meanwhile they turn around and use the N word like more than Black people or racists combined. IT's good there was push back against their claim that they created hip hop alongside the Black Americans. Had it not been so, the Puerto Ricans would have ended up claiming they actually created hip hop and incorporate white people in it too until Black contribution is phased out.

    About 5 years ago I became a @djphase advocate because unlike others his narrative is pregnant with details which predates other narratives. None of the claim jumpers dare refute his story because it's a quintessential American story. I live in Philadelphia and we have a park. The Latinos are on one side playing every version of Latin music and The FBA ADOS are playing Hip-Hop, funk, etc. To THIS day there's a line between English and Spanish music listeners. Only claim jumpers and humanitarians are saying different.

    FJ said in an interview that he went to a Spanish Club in the Bronx where all the Latino's from the older generation would go and dance enjoying music from their country. The club had all the older Mommies and Poppies there that didn't even "speak english" They would go there and dance to Merengue and Salsa Music all night. So he says, he was there and out of no where the DJ throws on Biggie and all these older Latino people that didn't even know how to speak English, miraculously knew who biggie was and rapped every word along with the song! FJ seen this and was devastated!!! He said he immediately left the club in rage, went home and sat in the dark in his house confused about what happened that night. FJ said he was so hurt that his own people didn't even know his songs, (let alone played his songs in the club) but knew who Biggie was, and every word to the song! They didn't even speak english!!! That's what put him on a mission to start making hits!

    @kooldjphase is 💯 Correct regarding his comment "It being within FBA DNA 🧬" that can also be explained as "Cultural Continuity" within FBA culture.
    To explain why Puerto Ricans have no significant creative contribution to hip hop culture, it is essential to examine the concept of Cultural Continuity versus Cultural Discontinuity.
    The (FBA) have a long and rich history of Cultural Continuity. This is evident in their creation and evolution of various art forms, which include:
    Spirituals (Late 18th Century - Early 19th Century)
    Blues (Late 19th Century)
    Ragtime (Late 19th Century - Early 20th Century)
    Jazz (Early 20th Century)
    Gospel (Early 20th Century)
    Bebop (1940s)
    Rhythm and Blues (R&B) (1940s)
    Doo Wop (1940s - 1950s)
    Rock and Roll (Mid-1950s)
    Soul (Late 1950s - 1960s)
    Country Music
    Funk (Mid-1960s)
    Hip Hop (Late 1970s)
    House Music (Early 1980s)
    Neo-Soul (1990s)
    Afrofuturism (Conceptual Art Music)
    And so on...
    These art forms were developed by successive FBA generations, reflecting their experiences and struggles within the systemof Racism, White Supremacy. Each genre is a testament to the enduring cultural legacy and innovative spirit of the FBA community/Youth.
    In contrast, Puerto Ricans exhibit Cultural Discontinuity. There is a lack of historical and consistent progression in their contributions to music and cultural forms comparable to the lineage seen in FBA history. This discontinuity raises critical questions:
    1. What essential elements did Jamaicans and Nuyoricans bring to hip hop that were indispensable for its advancement?
    2. What tangible benefits did the FBA gain from the inclusion and acceptance of Nuyoricans in hip hop?
    The statistical significance of Puerto Rican contributions to hip hop is negligible.
    This is particularly notable considering that many in the Puerto Rican community have historically fought to be accepted as white and were positioned in close proximity to Black communities. Proximity alone does not equate to a shared cultural union. Moreover, the Latino culture has roots in anti-Black sentiment, as evidenced by derogatory terms such as "Trepar Palo" or "Cocolos" (Monkey) used to describe Black people.
    In conclusion, while Puerto Ricans were present in the early days of hip hop, their contributions do not reflect the deep, generationally sustained creativity and cultural innovation demonstrated by the FBA. Their presence in hip hop history does not amount to a foundational or transformative influence on the genre.
    That was created by the offspring of COINTELPRO and the civil rights generation ..

    That “Tariq Disciple” stuff is nonsensical and unnecessary. That sounds like people trying to get into your head to sow seeds of deceit.
    Your perspective is Nothing like Tariq's. People who subscribe to both of you brothas know that you two are different in your abilities to disseminate information and may disagree on certain things.
    Ain't nobody confused about who they listening to. That stuff commotion and Nothingness.

    The black spades started the culture of what is now hip hop‼️ KRS-1 said the original B.Boy culture in the beginning was gang culture.🤷🏾‍♂️ Hip hop came out of the civil rights movement for Black/African Americans. Latinos are genetically Europeans, it’s a myth they are black, it’s two different ethnicities & culture. Foreigners, non Americans that came from Puerto Rico ect. lived in poverty with blacks because they were 2nd class citizens so they had the “black experience” but genetically & culturally it’s a distinct difference.

      Really? So the Africans who were shipped to Puerto Rico and intermarried the Tainos don't count? Same situation in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Southern Mexico, and Brazil had the largest transport of West African slaves shipped in the Americas. Matter of fact today, they have the second largest African population outside of Africa itself. 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @billiondollarambition
      @billiondollarambition Месяц назад +2

      @@billyjacc Brazil ain’t P.R. Tho, you can’t conflate the two because it’s incorrect to say the two are the same when Brazil having a high affinity of sub Saharan African DNA is the distinction, & genetically a Puerto Rican is majority European & prolly 10% sub Saharan African. A person who has one black parent will give any European some sub Saharan African DNA so that comparison is also incorrect, but a Puerto Ricans ancestry is from Spain which is in Europe.

      Africa isn't the name of continent. Please stop using Africa is the birth place of people's. What ever stories our enemies say is truth. Latino are not us. They are Caucasian. Latino is Latin word which Italian. Hispanic is a Spanish word. Spanish is a Caucasian language and people are from Spain. Only the original tiano are us. Please do the research.

      @billiondollarambition
      @billiondollarambition I've been to both places and I was just providing an example of some of the destinations of the Atlantic Slave trade.
      My grandfather was from Loisa Puerto Rico and looked like Nat King Cole. His side of the family came in various hues, and also knew a substantial amount of their genealogy.
      In PR the Tainos mixed with the Africans who were there and also the Spaniards who were there, and that's why you'll have those who highly favor Italians ( Telemundo TV Ricans) and also those who favor African Americans or Afro Caribbeans , then there are those who are in-between due to the offspring of the first two meeting up and procreating...., i.e. " Tainos + Spaniards = more Southern Italian look.
      Tainos + Africans = more of a Mestizo look.
      The offspring of the four combined produced more of a Creole look in which we'd see in the ports of Louisiana. Think " Lisa Bonet, The Smollet Family, Jasmine Guy, and even Cree Summer as far as hues and hair textures went.
      Heck , we knew some of our grandfather's side in West Philly, and we thought they were just light brown skinned black folks like us, but my mom ( who's half Rican from my grandfather) used to say " They are part Spanish too, cause their father's black and mother's Spanish like our dad was. " These were her first cousins and my grandfather's sister's kids in their late 30's at the time. ( over 50 years ago)
      Their mom and my grandfather had both been deceased when we were born.
      At our family reunion in 1972 is when we met most of his side and all the girl cousins were tripping off the family of 5 boys that looked like the Jackson 5. Dark-skinned, big wide noses and lips, and wore huge afros. The one my brother's age ( about 11 ) looked just like Tito Jackson with braces. They looked like their father who's brownskinned and the mother was very Dark-skinned, and born and raised in San Juan, and her family lineage was from Loisa.
      Funny how even today at 78 years old, when she wears her Bomba dresses and headwraps, the Africans in Southwest Philly thinks she's one of them., when she goes to shop out there. I'll bet she probably has less European in her bloodline than many FAB's.
      Anyway, I won't go as far as to say they helped the founding of Hip Hop culture as far as Dancing, Rapping , and Mixing, but I'll stick to the truth that many of them have African bloodlines.. & that's from family experience and research. My mother's half Puerto Rican from her father, and my father's FAB ( I think, cause his father was a Geechie- Gullah from North Florida.)
      As far as Ricans go, my family and many others laugh about the Spaniard - European only discussion when it comes to their heritage.

    I'm highly disappointed that KRS didn't accept the challenge. Hip Hop is his life, and for him to be challenged on it, you'd expect him to automatically accept the challenge, front and center. If he was asked, he would say he would. It's happened, and he didn't. Disappointing. IMO, KRS lyrically is still and always will be the G.O.A.T. Congratulations, Lord Jamar, on your victory.

    He's basically conversing with Vlad, getting some straightening about bringing people up there to glorify talk about gang culture and to show ngs how not to let Vlad ask them questions or answer questions that can get them caught up.
