A lot of people think of their loved ones going to heaven when they listen to this beautiful piece. To me, it reflects how loving and patient God is. To come home is to surrender all of our sins and burdens and rest in the love of Jesus. I pray that everyone lost and alone will find God’s amazing love
I won't lie, as I sang this this morning with my Choir. Sang this right after my mom had passed, I didn't know it just yet that she had. It's killing me but giving me peace all in the same. With what was going on with her health, I kept messing up during rehearsals. Today not a mistake.

This is how I always felt about this song. How you described it
My precious wife of almost 20 years went home to the Lord on Sunday night, November 22, 2020. I woke up that same morning hearing this old hymn in my mind---a hymn that I haven't heard since I was a boy in the Presbyterian church. I got up and turned on the tv to a Christian worship channel, and guess what song they were playing at that very moment?
I looked up the song on RUclips and shared it with my darling wife, and it ministered so much peace to her heart, a peace that was with us all day and into the evening. It really was a divinely orchestrated time of ministry of God's Spirit to our family. I Love you Always, my sweet Roopa.....
My mother sang this song many times. Several of those times were at her friends funerals! This hymn is totally about hope in Jesus!
This is an excellent way to share the Gospel with someone who doesn't know the Savior. The desire of the heart of our Lord Jesus is for us to share with others His Gift of Eternal Life. One of the easiest ways to touch another soul is through music and His Word. May you all be abundantly blessed in the presence of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
My momma went to Heaven 10 years ago today. July 27, 2011. Softly and tenderly, He called her while she was preparing supper in her kitchen. Can't wait to see you again, mom.

I love this song so much. My mom just passed away about a week ago and they played this at her service. Oh how I already miss her after only a week without her. It's going to be a long hard road ahead, but I know I can make it knowing I will see her again someday. God Is Good!🙏♥️

So peaceful! Listening to this just got my mind wondering. What is it going to be like when we are fully experiencing His presence? Indescribable I know, but just allow yourself to think for a moment. When we see Him in all His glory. The Spirit gives us glimpses and foretaste of things to come by revealing the glory of the Son to us..so we have a faint but true sense of what it may be like though it is at the same time still unimaginable. Yet here I go...just from knowing His peace now through His forgiveness, and reflecting on His truth and comfort of the Holy Spirit..I imagine that perfect peace and a still loving calm will exude from His very being into ours. Wait! This also happens in measure now! He's amazing and I can't help but wonder what the fullness of His presence will be like. Sighs.

In 2004 this was one of the songs I chose to say goodbye to my dad. He had only taken Jesus to be his Saviour 34 hours before he was called home 🙏

I so remember the Lord calling me back to Him years ago when my son was an infant and we were in NC and I passed a church and it was full and I could so distinctly hear His call on my heart for my son and I to literally come home. We did and it was the best decision I ever made, for both our lives. Please, if you hear or feel the Lord leading you to do something, no matter how hard it might be, I urge you by faith to make that move. He will lead you and hold you the whole way, but you must take that first step.

I remember this hymn was sung at a funeral Mass at. St Michael's in Brookyn in 1942. A friend and classmate of mine fell off the back of a moving Ice truck on 46th St and died. The entire class attended his funeral.The only substitute in was "children" come home in place of "sinners" come home .It still lingers........
