I personally don't dislike James at all, I just find his "sacred cow" status funny to the point that poking fun at his forced, Zombie Simpsons-esque videos also ends up being hilarious. The likes of 5:40 or the mowden are so much funnier when you realize so many people get defensive over even the slightest criticism aimed at James (while simultaneously pissing their pants from laughter whenever Oney makes a Channel Awesome joke).

Screenwave is to RUclips as a label is to music or a studio is to movies. They've tried to package James, but in doing so they took away the sincerity. Maybe James couldn't have evolved the way he needed to. Maybe he had a golden hour of creating something truly magical for many of us and he never could have done more. But seeing Screenwave try to squeeze every bit of value out of the guy is sad to watch. He really just seems like he's being exploited by a soulless corporation now.
I would give James tons of credit if, in a new avgn, he would just randomly stare at the camera and say something like, "....cause its 5:40...", or "....no time..." That alone would acknowledge the critics(us) and says FU at the say time.
