Fascinating pair of videos. I'm puzzled about how the Dyson electronics sees the battery removal reset but doesn't respond the same way to the switch - if the switch is in the battery. I wonder if there's some leakage across the switch??
The mechanical switch controls a MOSFET/solid state relay. I don't know whether it's the Dyson motor controller, or the 3rd party battery that needs to be reset. Since the electrical connection is solid state, it's possible there's a leakage or sensing happening even when not running. It's likely that it's the battery that needs to be reset.

I never had the patience to time it, but it has never run out for my needs. Since mine is now 1-2 years old, I'm going to buy a brand new one to test, and compare to the used one.

Now as we have 21700 cells with 5000mAh capacity(like molicel) i think it make sense to just update the cells incide the original dyson battery.

Why do you need a clip at all? Doesn’t the battery just lock in place when you attach it
No, it does not. 3 screws hold the battery pack in place. The clip replaces the need for those screws.
