    Have you too been noticing the finds have been dropping off and it's mostly junk these days? I worked Miami South Beach last week and in 5 hours I only found 2 rings none were gold. Personally, I think the economy is the main factor. But, it's just not like it used to be in my opinion, especially for this time of year.

    • @DetectFlorida
      @DetectFlorida  Год назад

      Yeah, it's been a pretty slow year. Hopefully it picks up now that its getting warmer and more people are getting into the water

      @@DetectFlorida yesterday I dropped in at Manatee Beach and didn't find anything. I walked the entire 2.3 miles South to Coquina. I would drop in along the way behind a few hotels and beach access points, nothing there either. Worked Coquina from North to South and only found junk jewelry. Since people aren't using cash and we are about to switch to CDBC, coins are far and few in between now. No complaints about the coins because it's just about worthless nowadays. April into May has always been the best time of the year. Not everyone is hunting the water yet so there's more to find. The cooler water reduces inflammation allowing those rings to slid right off. Seems like there's fewer people at the beach throughout the week. The weekends seem busy but nothing to really find. I think until the economy gets better, which it's not anytime soon. Less people wearing mostly junk is going to continue equalling a bad season of hunting. Don't get me wrong I'm not giving up but the maximum effort of driving 10 hours round trip to Miami in a day. Also, working it for miles it's worth the effort right now. Good luck Shawn and keep posting videos. We all definitely need to see gold come up to keep hope alive.

      @@DetectFlorida I’ve found my share of fishing sinkers and a dime or two in the sand on the “Point”. The rock groins were added a few years ago when the beach was nearly gone. After some years of negotiating with Siesta, they were finally able to dredge; starting about 3 years ago. (I am on Lido for 2-3 weeks most years….)

      I like them a lot. They're very loud. I believe they're starting to fail though. They've been through a lot. About 6 months into owning them, I started getting water inside. My machine was just sent out for repair. I'll likely be getting some new headphones put on while its in. I didn't have a great experience having Tony install my headphones, so I'll be going another route this time
