Rails in Wales 1997. Over 30 freights through Newport

So many old memories from over 27 years ago at Newport. 59s on Iron ore, 60s on steel, TPOs, extra long loads of fuel tankers, some double headed 37s and EW&S liveries. Were you there with your camera too? Enjoy the day.

Seems like just a few years ago you could witness the various types of traction and those liveries.

I used to change at Newport when travelling in this era from Hereford back to London. It was always such a busy, bustling place - all sorts of interesting things ticking over in the sidings.

Are the time captions a bit out ?. Your first one of 10.58 contradicts the station clock, which shows 09.58.
A great reminder of how busy Newport used to be. I had been there the month before.
