if it lands maybe they could get footage of reentry but idk if it would survive tip in water but during a blackout period doubt they would get the footage transmitted
Maybe use Starlink as a relay system sending video up rather than down? Probably won't work so we'll have to rely on onboard recording and playback later.
I'm frustrated. I was so "in" that I didn't want it to stop, and wanted that Starship to go all the way to landing. Great job, man. 'm watching it again right now.
This is AAA quality! I've already rewatched it like 10 times. Favourite part is when the plasma ends and the ship has the colouration from the heat on the edges.
I have watched this at least 10 times today. I usually hate the Starship animations because they're so smooth. The vibrations, the plasma.. look so damn good. The transition from plasma to cooler temps is gorgeous. And what absolutely gets me is that last shot looking over the nose where it uses the RCS jets and is making corrections with the flaps.. art. I'd pay to see you do a full landing cycle off of this. Just your use of vibration and irregularities needing minor corrections sets this so, so far apart.

But... THIS!... *THIS* is one of the most stirring, inspiring, and just flat-out amazing renditions I've ever seen of the 'Dance of the Plasmas' during re-entry. What a talent. I salute you, sir! @@dsdy1205 after seeing IFT-4 I’ve never been more surprised that a giant piece of stainless steel was able to land in the ocean after getting burned by reentry that was the little flap that could

Well done! She's beautiful in flight and reentry, just beautiful! Keep up the good work. Looking forward to what you upload next. I am now Subscribed 🙏👍
This is really amazing. A man who has already proven he can send capsules to orbit the earth, dock with the ISS and return safely has this experiment which has never orbited the earth and might burn up in reentry. Literature sometimes brings truth that we can not otherwise accept. As we see in Star Trek, Ships are built in orbit and stay orbiting, not landing on planets. The most challenging aspect of space flight is the reentry.

A year later since this was uploaded...and SpaceX has announced that Starship is ready to fly. We're only days away from launch day. A day that will no doubt, go down in history as the greatest SpaceX launch of all time.
I'm old enough to remember the Apollo coverage in the 60's and the unbelievably crude animations NASA used during missions. Still, some people (my Aunt, for one) thought they were actual video.
Great to see the wider Starship community pick up on this great animation and see Marcus House give you a shout out in his latest video! I'm sure Felix @WAI and others will do so too. Seriously, seriously good. Here's to you getting 1,000+ subscribers and getting monetized as this kind of stuff only benefits the whole community of Starship lovers! You have my sub!
Amazing job! This made me think about so many different aspects I hadn't considered, like: how much plasma is going to flow under the skirt and reach the engine bells? how much horizontal velocity is Starship left with when it switches to a "horizontal" attitude, parallel to the ground? It feels like it would certainly slow down a lot but still be flying straight pretty fast. Or how do you design ailerons such that they can be used to "fly" starship during re-entry but are also capable of effecting changes through air at subsonic speeds? surely the two interfaces are different enough that the optimal shape for one medium might not be the best for the other. Can't wait for the next one!
Alexander! it's a *REALLY WELL DONE VIDEO* I've repeatedly seen several times. One of the aspects that let it seem to me so real, is the change of colour of the area covered by tiles and the rest of the nude steel just after the flamed reentry; which correctly resembles a possible reentry behaviour of the metal. This indicates to me that you've had a thought on a lot of aspects. You did a wonderful a *REALISTIC* job!!! congratulations!!!
Holy shit! This might be the best starship animation i've ever seen!
Thanx mate
