@@d31zzz_ havent driven a new one (obviously) but the 220-280tkm ones ive driven were slow af and there was nothing to do with launch bc the torque was not enough to break traction. Just to be clear im a huge volvo fan but thats just the dissapointing reality of the R's :/
On the s600 there is two models, the one that sounds like f1 is the earlier naturaly aspirated ones, although that one is much slower, the 5.5 v12 biturbo you mentioned in the video is the later version and the more desirable ones . They also sound nice when decated. As standard you won't ear much and that's how it's supose to be on a luxury car like this

They're pretty critical for the sound. Without those you get a Porsche 718...which is like having had a night out with a 981, waking up sober and realising that you went home with someone else by mistake and now you're just being nagged to clean the kitchen. Great vid as per usual... only one small detail, the cheapest xjrs that you were finding were the older x3*0*8 gen cars. 2003-2007 is the sweet spot between old-fashioned and modern... personally i'd have either an x308 xjr100 (cause my dad had the awesome experience of chauffering around jag execs back in the 90s in one, or an x358 xjr portfolio purely down to how badass it looks 🤩
I used to drive through the Blackwall Tunnel every day in the Audi version of the R32. The noise it made in there when I hit the accelerator was very nice. Most of the time when you're driving you can't really hear it.

Most of these have aftermarket exhausts so aren't the original noises, therefore not properly comparable as 2 different aftermarket exhausts on the same car can sound so different
For £10k I can't disagree with any of these but the R32 is honestly pretty disappointing for sound...I like it, it doesn't sound bad but it's one of the few engines that isn't a 4-pot and sounds worse than a 4-pot, although even then it's beaten only by a Scooby with uneven headers or some old rally car like a Delta S4. Sound is a 3-way battle between the Busso, the Maserati and the S8. Bias makes me say S8 (when is a V10 not the best engine?) but I do love a Maserati V8...only problem is all 3 of those sound great for about a minute before they break!
The winner for 10 k should be Maserati Quattraporte the best sounding car in this price range but yeah for 10 k will probably be a wreck and sadly it's one of the most unreliable cars out there. But that sound is a symphony.

Man I've been on a massive car searching mission after watching this video & a few of your others. I'm in a situation where I think you can help. I'm a big petrol head & I'm looking for a new vehicle that ticks a few boxes, needs to be 4x4 & ideally sounding sweet as a nut, V8 or turbo charged but in an ideal world it needs to be quite capable off road as I live in a mountain area. What do you think would tick all these boxes? I'll hopefully get the green light from the wife if I say its a big safe SUV. Great vids, keep up the good work :-)
E53 x5 4.4i. I had one. It was great. Even drove back onto the road after I crashed it in the winter. Sadly a cracked the frame and so it was pretty much done for :)

When you say petrol head is diesel acceptable? My brain immediately went to SQ5, but if you're thinking petrol then maybe the Cayenne S? 4.8L V8, properly nice in terms of luxury/capability etc, available for under £20,000 in the UK, and just a great all rounder (quite big though!)
@@statyisgod then honestly I would just go with the newer ML500. It’s big, sounds great, it doesn’t have all those expensive amg thingies from the ML63 like brakes and stuff. I work at an official vag shop and I would not advise you to buy the cayenne. They are very prone to breaking and also the headlights are extremely easy to steal. Look it up please. :)

Best sounding V6? Nah, anything with a 2GR wins that, the Evora is probably the best example although an IS350 with the right exhaust is insane. V6 F-Type is a close 2nd. SLK350 is definitely nice for £10k though, I'd pick it over the R32 and many V8s- I mostly agree with you, just not that it's the best V6, it's maybe top 10.

Btw the Volvo S60R has the same specs as a V70R. 300hp and 5.5 secs to 60. I’m guessing the specs were from a Volvo S60 2.5T rather than an R

s60r and v70r will absolutely not hit 0-60 in 5.5 sec. 7sec would be great for them

As a trader i think the mk5 r32 is the 2nd best sounding car ever to be made theyre amazing but the number 1 is a w204 c63 amg theyre unbeatable!!
The Alfa Gtv 3.0 busso sounds much nicer. The R32 is rough sounding. They sound okay, but not great for a six pot.

My mechanic has one the Audi's. The engine crank lunched itself. Current cost of rebuild is £6000 and that's at trade prices.
My father had a 4200 and it was so expensive to look after.
