Sadly it's not just in america such things happen. Propaganda through the media can cause the same poison anywhere. Russian children in Europe have been bullied in schools, Russians feeling they have to pretend to be Ukrainian in order to avoid abuse and discrimination. In 2020 it was the Chinese (although I think that happened more in tge US), who were the target. So sad.
I had a chance to visit Russian Samovar back in 2018, this was the friendliest place I had visited in NYC. Sad about the news, as half-Russian half Ukrainian I feel Vlad very deeply. Hope you'll be fine soon, good luck with the business!

So it wasn’t about supporting Ukraine, it was just about their business. Typical russians, they pretend to be someone or to do something only when they are cornered financially.
If you ask me, russian restaurants are a part of a so called “russain culture”, as their represent russia. So along with their country they should be responsible for the actions of russia. If their culture would be so great and humanistic, would so many people go to Ukraine to kill Ukrainians and would other russians support it? You can’t blame people for choosing to dine at a Ukrainian restaurant instead of a Russian one. The Ukrainian workers are sending money back to their displaced families in Ukraine or neighbouring European countries. People are doing what they can, people feel powerless. The message will get back to relatives in Russia that the world is against this war, Russian civilians need to look outside their bubble to find out why. I boycott everything Russian and I avoid companies still in Russia.
So what should Russian people do? Stop earning money and just die out of hunger? That’s so absurd
