For those who didn't see them the 3 nights at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta when they recorded thier live album One more from the road. I was there all 3 nights July 1976. Still have my ticket stubs. $7.50 each. All the Originals. The best 3 nights I ever saw them play. The Outlaws opened for them each night. The Fox was rocking those 3 nights.
I remember watching this on Pay per view. I also taped it from the radio broadcast. It's a shame that their new music with Johnny didn't get the airplay it deserved, it holds up well to the original bands material.
Totally agree. I saw them every year from '91 to '96. Once Ed and Randall were gone, their sound changed. I met Randall at the RVZ park in Jacksonville in '98. When he shook my hand I thought he was gonna crush it. The strongest hand shakei ever felt. Strong hands.
You should have seen the 3 shows in ATL at the iconic Fox Theatre in 1976. Those 3 shows became thier live album " One more from the road" I was there all 3 nights and saw them live dozens of times. Those 3 nights in Atlanta were the best shows I ever saw them perform. Ronnie introduced the " new" guitarist Steve Gaines at those shows. His famous words " play it pretty for Atlanta" were spoken at those shows. I was at this show as well in 1993. Nothing compares to Skynyrd playing at the Fox Theatre in ATL
@Flip Side My comment was about 3 shows I saw in 1976. I didnt say anything about Johnny dummy. Inconsequal. I couldn't care less when or where you saw them. Irrevelent! I could care even less about your inconsequal judgement about Johnny or my age. More importantly nobody was talking to you or asking your opinion. 🤡

For I must be traveling on, now Cause there's too many places I've got to see But, if I stayed here with you, girl Things just couldn't be the same Cause I'm as free as a bird now And this bird you can not change Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh And this bird you can not change And this bird you can not change Lord knows, I can't change Bye, bye, baby, it's been a sweet love Though this feeling I can't change But please don't take it so badly Cause Lord knows I'm to blame But, if I stayed here with you, girl Things just couldn't be the same Cause I'm as free as a bird now And this bird you'll never change Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh And this bird you can not change And this bird you can not change Lord knows, I can't change Lord help me, I can't change Lord, I can't change Won't you fly high, free bird, yeah.......
If that's sloppy then I wish I could play as sloppily. It's an amazing song and they are incredible musicians. Drugs and Rock just go together, especially Southern Rock. I don't know why but artistic creativity and drugs will always be linked.
Lynyrd Skynyrd were friends with ATL promoter Alex Cooley. They help him save the Fox Theatre from destruction. I was at this show at the Fox too.
I love it when Gary does the tweeting of the bird. Goosebumps. 🐦 May he RIP. 😢
Gary did that as a Tribute to Duane Allman. The Allman Brothers used the slide guitar extensively in thier songs
@@billwalker7556 That's great to know. Ty. 😎
@@robinlanier6886 you are welcome. 😄
Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Fox Theatre in ATL. It just doesn't get any better!

I was there that night and I got to meet my hero Gary rossington and pictures with all of them I was 20 years old now I'm kicking 46
Ed King was absolutely a guitar boss.
The boys are all back together now "playing it pretty in heaven"!!
I was there...still have my ticket stub, great show, the Fox is beautiful !
Mr. Ed King Totally Rocked His Ass Off Here, Cousin Figel

Especially The Last Rebel! There are other good ones too!
Love the 96Rock T-shirt and miss the station more! 😢
Apart from the original Allen Collins tour de force, this end jam gets my vote as best ever. Ed King and Randall Hall!

@Flip Side you are hilarious and could not be more wrong about everything you said 🤡LMAO

That was Fucking Awesome playing by Ed King WOW
BEST BAND IN THE WORLD
1:10. Wtf Gary? That was fucking hilarious lol.
Simply amazing!!
WOW!
Holy shit ed king still had it
Yes he did!
Ed R.I.P ✝️🇺🇸🇩🇪
Just saw them almost two weeks ago it was awesome.
First time I saw Ed do the solo at the end I thought Randall Hall did it.
Man Gary’s guitar must’ve had a cold that night. Sheesh!
@@jaysgaming3797 maybe but Ed slayed the solo!
FREEBIRD HAS FLEW AWAY FROM THE SHOW 😥😥😥
I saw a guy wearing a "96 Rock" T shirt. If you lived in ATL then like I did you know exactly what I'm talking about!!
I did live in Atlanta for years and yes 96 rock was a great radio station.
Gonna need new frets after this!
Fucking amazing!
Yes it was
excelente trabajo, gracias por subir estas 3 partes del recital.
una consulta, faltarían 5 canciones para terminar el recital completo, las tenés?
15:20 What's the song playing
dog barks @ 8:37
?
Listen and the guitar sounds like a dog bark in that section.
I thought I was the only other one that noticed that. That was always my favorite part of the solo.
They got all coked up backstage before coming out for freebird. You can see it in Gary and Johnny's eyes. Plus their playing is sloppier
If that's sloppy then I wish I could play as sloppily. It's an amazing song and they are incredible musicians. Drugs and Rock just go together, especially Southern Rock. I don't know why but artistic creativity and drugs will always be linked.
