Southern Minnesota here the whole State is being tore up rain more rain. Tornadoes. High wind etc. So many counties are either flooding or on the verge atm.
Government trying their best to destroy our farm land and make us eat bugs, and that’s not a joke or some conspiracy theory it’s very real! Bill gates and other idiots are ramping up their bug farms right now. Plus he’s been buying up farm land for years so he can get rid of it. Time to wake up people!!! This isn’t just some random thing happening. They’ve been modifying weather for decades now to make to rain or not rain in certain areas. They even did it back in WWII, now they’re using it against us to try and push their agendas. Trying to make people believe global warming is real and that it’s caused by farming and cows, just so they can make us all dependent on them not ourselves. With dependency comes control.
I still say there must be a way to build a pipeline to catch all the excess water and pipe it to the southwest that doesn't see much water. If a pipeline can be built for oil. Why not water?
This is so sad. Rapidan Dam is a well-loved place around here. It's an expected summer trip - so many people in our area head over to the Rapidan Dam every summer, several times a summer, to enjoy a good meal, a delicious piece of pie, walk the bridge to look at the dam and the beautiful sights. And of course you have to stop and play the piano in the shelter house at the playground!

I have many fond memories of visiting the Lil' Dam Store and hydroelectric dam going back to the middle seventies. My mom and dad were taking a trip locally; on their first and only honeymoon; and left me, as well as my three siblings, at my grandfather's farm in rural Rapidan. My grandfather, Allen Ross, would do what a proud grandfather usually does; and spoil his grandkids rotten with sweets and the occasional ice cream drumstick, from the store. On the evening my parents were returning from their honeymoon; yours truly got really sick on too much of grandpa's generosity! So, my lovely parents had a sick kid to deal with after their joyous honeymoon. Ah, good times! I'm praying for Jenny and her family today; for their personal safety and the safety of their Lil' Dam Store and their childhood home. I was born in 1972; the same year the Barnes family became the owners of this iconic southern Minnesota landmark. God bless.
That's a beautiful story, thank you for sharing. OMG, it's bittersweet to connect with others from across this country at times like this, but I feel a sort of sad nostalgia for similar events that have happened in my kneck of the woods in California.I really hope and pray all ends with the best outcome there is, for everyone. ❤❤❤❤ God Bless you.
I'm 😞 sorry, here in TN at Lake Ray Robert's dam¹ it's weak, they allowed 1000s homes built below this dam. 😮😢. Scares me and I don't live in TX any more. If that dam blows the lose of life all the way past Dallas will be staggering. Stay safe MI.❤

Rainstorms nearly every day for the past month is normal? I don't think so. I have never seen anything like this in my life. Basically all of southern Minnesota is under a flood warning
They should remove all the debris built up along the damp to reduce the force of water exerted on the damp by using an excavator with the grabbing attachment and a dump truck to carry that debris away to increase water flow over the damp.
Heavy rainfall made the river swell. Then the swollen river with its raging water caused the river to widen and take out trees, buildings etc. It is called debris now because it's now in the river but it wasn't debris until the river began to widen which destroyed things.
OP: DNR should reorganize to build staff in greater numbers that would focus on debris removal in forested areas and in waterways as an emergency management plan against fire and clogged waterways. Other naturalization projects can be put on hold in favor of what must be done.
The dam will not collapse because @0:04 on the righthand side is a big out crop of natural rocks in the river bed you can see it if you look!, the dam is up agaisnt it on the right, the water is going around the right of the dam due to the river bank collasping not the dam. On the right is also some natural rocks above and underneath the water surface which is creating waterfalls around that side and further down the river nearer the house and bank on the right. Once the water level lowers then they might be-able to rebuild the river wall/bank on the right by diverting the river and putting in thick reinforced concreate walls on that side of the dam and refilling the hole land behind it. I guess it depends how far they are willing to go and how much money someone is willing to put in to try and save it or maybe they might remove the dam completely, who know?, but the dam will still be there once the water level drop. The dams foundations will be dug right down into the river bedrock and most of the water flow/pressure is going around the right side of the dam removing alot of force from the dam itself. I feel really sorry for the family that have lost their childhood home. I live in the UK but maybe someone in the minnesota area could start up some kind of fundraiser on the internet to help them rebuild a home. Take care all.
