He's doing it the hard way. When I was younger we would steal two plastic food trays from McDonald's then using a front wheel drive car we would put the back wheels on the trays and pull the handbrake on tight. Then you can drift well..... Until you wear a hole through the trays.

You see with this layout the transmission shaft is constantly spinning as long as the engine is running and this shaft is joined to the engine and gearbox via two rubber joints that with age and or careless use simply grenade leaving you on foot and with a hefty bill to repair it properly

Sounded like an axle snapping. Had that unfortunate event with my car when i turned too fast in a corner and the halfaxle sheered off cleanly. No power to the wheels anymore, nasty and expensive stuff
In South Africa we had the GTV6 3.0...........what a car. It is Ultra rare with only 208 produced for racing......sadly these days we can barely produce electricity
Interestingly, I saw one for sale in Melbourne about a year ago for 80k ish. Very cool. My dad had a rare 1600 strada, followed by 2 2000s. My brother and I learned to drive in the GTV and Ma's Alfetta...wonderful cars.

It’s hard to get an X1/9 to break loose and when ya do it’s not really controllable, I raced a 248HP Dallara Replica for a number of years and I can’t think of one time I’ve ever been able to recover after the rear drifted more than 20° or so to either side. Even with the differential locked it wasn’t an easy to keep her pointed forward after she lost traction in a chicane. I also owned a GTV6 too; my daily driver for 6 years, for those that have owned one you know that’s the sound your clutch pack/gearbox makes before you spend $4500
One of my old school teachers had an X1/9. She was a real car lover and knew how to control a car. She had an X1/9 for a few weeks and swapped it. Described is lethal. Saw sense and bought a 131 Batmobile. In Orange.

@@YOEL_44 i love Alfas but most of them are only good for the street and race track, doing anything else would cause issues, thankfully the newer ones are way more reliable but they're still best used on a track

Doesn't it occur to you that your friend who "likes rallies" was asking too much of a car that wasn't meant for that? I know people who have done 500,000 km with 156 and believe me, they are not rare at all. They weren't the best cars of all time, but they sure didn't break any more than the others as you want to believe.
I happen to know the owner of that track, and I can tell u for sure, he is very precious of that grass, and he would not of been very happy to see May and Hammond ruin it 😂😂😂😂

I thought it was just me with insulation tape on my Scalextric cars....I also used cigarette lighter fluid to do a "burn out" and ignited it with a spark from the transformer

This whole episode was supposed to be a collaboration with Driftland UK - the idea for putting bins over the tires was Driftland's idea aswell. However Jeremy decided they wouldn't visit Driftland and screwed them over...
Yeah they stole Driftlands idea and claimed it as their own, they get away with it though cause they have such a massive following smaller companies don't stand a chance.

I have 166 3.0 V6 and it is amazing car, but quite expensive to maintain. Still I love it.
