I agree I think people in general should talk more about personal finance. Congratulations on the upload streak AND the sponsorships. You often introduce us to brands we might never find on our own. Small businesses, minority or women owned etc. You have a very thoughtful approach that we appreciate. I think that people underestimate what it costs (in America) financially to take of: yourself vs you and a pet vs a couple vs a couple with a pet not to mention adding in a parent, grandparent or extended family into who you support. Can't wait to see the next video. Stay safe.

always look forward to your videos! I just want to say that I had to stop watching Gemary videos. I was so excited to find a Latina in Miami on RUclips but unfortunately, she has not been responsible with COVID and has posted about parties. Miami and Florida has been and still is a hot spot. To see someone choose temporary happiness over empathy for their own community isn't for me. And this isn't to generate hate but I think recognizing and being responsible is something we all have to face, and when she received kind but critical comments (accountability is important) she deleted comments or wrote something half hearted regarding this. I think she may have deleted her xmas party video, but it was up for quite some time.

Alexa Blake posted a video on November 6th, 2020 where she expressed being afraid that she'd be "cancelled" for her true socio-political beliefs. The whole theme of the video was sort of victimizing Trumpists and bigots and it was icky, to say the least. I watched her for years and it was disappointing. She has since decided to unlist this video, I suspect because it lost her a lot of subscribers. I just think it's fair for people to know this before they recommend/support her ventures since she decided to add it to her brand. If you feel this may bother you as well, I encourage you to go watch this video and judge for yourself. It's called "a very candid grwm - politics, quitting youtube, why I don't like social media | alexa blake" and though it's unlisted, there's a reddit post about it titled "Alexa Blake hinting at voting Trump/being attacked for her views" and if you Google that it should come up. Ignorance is never actually bliss 🌈

I loved hearing you talk about the books that motivate you, especially to think about finances. I worked for so long at a firm and felt so torn between my culture that tells me to be humble, not discuss money and just work my tush off and someone will pay me...while working among all these people from different cultures who ask for what they want and get it. I realized that ultimately I was giving up my power, and that’s not right. Women and POC and 1st generation US kids (and so many others!) need the financial language to become second nature so that we can truly make our voices heard. Thanks for being brave, but still keeping it you🙏💙

I discovered MAKE Beauty through your channel and it’s become one of my favorite brands, so I’m excited for their re-launch. I love the original universal stick but I would love to try Maddie’s collaboration color if it becomes available again.
I also love Cook’s Illustrated magazine. It’s pretty much the only magazine I read because every other page isn’t an advertisement and I learn so much from other people who are just as passionate about food as I am and it’s really inspiring! I especially enjoy the issue about making homemade hummus. Their approach is so straightforward but fun. I love it!

And as far as sponsored content goes, I think the most important thing is disclosing that it’s an Ad, which I’ve found you always do and I think that says a lot about you as a person. Girl get your paper. It's unfortunate that money is such an emphasis around social media and compromises authenticity, but I genuinely don't feel that from you. Plus, the viewer has the option of, like, *not* buying the item if they don't want it, so it's all good.

Also I am really curious if u have done any virtual dj performances during quarantine or social media related stuff has been the only income source for u during this time . I'm not a professional DJ in that sense; it's definitely not a career path for me -- it's mostly a hobby that sustains itself cause I get paid on occasion.
As for income sources, I don't just do social media for living. I have like 5 different jobs and am always rotating projects. When one isn't lucrative, I move onto something else. Hope that makes sense!

I was watching Bret Weinstein and he said something about sun protection behavior that blew my mind. He says that he doesn't use any sunscreen usually but instead stays in the sun 15-20 minutes to soak up for Vitamin D protection, etc, and is just self aware of when his skin is about to feel hot, and then he seeks shade to cool down, and then rinse and repeat.

Another great book about money is Your money or your life by Vicki Robin. It talks about your relationship with money and how to achieve financial independence. I found it very insightful. Also, love your general favorites videos and the energy!

If you only watched to the end, you would understand my POV but of course, some people are quick to judge and that’s fine too.
How do you expect creators to make money to continue to create content...? Pay for bills, rent, etc ...? 😑🤨🙄 free products sure as hell ain’t gonna do it. Sooo if one of my fav creators gets sponsorships where they genuinely like the products and use them, I’m going to watch the video, like, comment, watch it again, so they can get their ends.
