I respectfully disagree for me. I don’t do RUclips sponsors for me. I absolutely hate RUclips sponsors so I won’t be downloading the app. Because I don’t wanna lose any money And I hope that this sponsor doesn’t scam you Because that would be very sad and terrible cause you’re a great guy
Good video. Glove position is definitely key. In the 90's I tried catching pucks Jim Park style, where the glove was low and you were always chasing it in giant windmill fashion. Now I keep the glove out in front of my body and higher, and pucks just find their way into my glove. I find a "reaching" action to be the most effective way. That way you are only moving your glove a few inches, vs trying to move in 12-18 inches and hoping to snag it.
I had PAW make me a set that was 12" wide, 38" tall with thigh boards, pre-2002 size blocker and catcher, and they were great for seven years. I ordered an all-new set a few years ago, and this new set is working great as expected. The former Colorado Avalanche equipment guy worked on them when they got cut by a skate, and he said that they were well constructed. I'm just a 52-year old beer league goalie so NHL rules aren't exactly enforced, and I'm not getting any younger. I told them to make the glove as big as gloves have ever been, and it's worked out great, however, if I'm not playing well, larger gear doesn't give me any advantage. Mostly I think it just helps my confidence that I don't have what I consider to be "skinny" pads with small gloves. I never liked that rule change.
We used to have a shoe repair guy in my home town that probably made half his revenue in winter fixing hockey gear, especially goalie gear. I'd imagine anyone doing shoe repair or other similar leatherwork would be pretty competent with fixing goalie gear. Check your local shoe repair shop.
good video. I am more of a fan of trying to get the toe box on the post because you're in a way better position to make additional movements IMO. I would also add that you should give a little bit of action on your glove to allow the puck to travel into the pocket, picture doing a tiny windwill save, you can say a little bit of "action" with your glove. What people tend to forget is there is a lot of personal preference when it comes to how you play your game. I know a lot of young goalies are probably watching these videos also. a few more tips for them, try to keep your hands in front of you and try not double coverage any areas. Ideally you would have your glove facing the puck at all times but there is no 1 way to do this, have your glove position be where it is comfortable to you! Goods video Trav
Buying a practice palm trapper is not really a hack. I will add that not only is a practice palm trapper harder to break in, it is heavier in weight than a game-ready palm trapper. That was nice of you to promote "The Goalie Glove Guy".
Good video. Btw how much was the cost for your glove repair? I've got a beaten up pro stock mach wondering if it's worth buying another or getting it fixed.
Aye travvy I want to get a GoPro and make ice hockey vids but I play D you think people will watch someone who doesn’t that play or an interesting position? Thanks

Actually suprised first 10 seconds of the video he didn't mention "I am a professional goalie...." 🤣

That KOHO twist was unexpected, thought it was going to be a cheaper line of goalie gear 😂
Shit dude I miss KOHO
Great video, made me feel less crazy about thinking about how most gloves saves are just shot straight into my glove.
happy new year trav
8:47 u have the best looking vapor 90, they did a phenomenal job
Got a custom Hyp2rlite set and banked on the vapor 90. Never looked back, such a great glove, but two piece blockers finger protection is unfortunate.

Thanks for the advice, some minor glove adjustments can definitely improve your game. I agree on the GoalieGloveGuy, he does awesome work !

What i do is after every skate i tape it close. It reduces the breaking in process
Great video.

Mid February I'm finally going to see you play
Love my v90 with a pro palm was butter out of the box
