Trouble with Embassies | Touring around the world on a Motorcycle - Episode 1
This episode covers stuff I've done to prepare the bike, as it's now finished, serviced and ready to go. This will cover equipment I'm taking, as well as some of the things I'm having to do to get the information I need for this trip... It's not easy!

Pissed myself at the South African embassy bit. I'm a South African now living in the Netherlands, I had to leave SA because of all the incompetency. Will follow your journey episode by episode,,,love your dry humour man. I travelled from Cape Town up to Malawi on my GS 1200 many years ago....what an adventure. Stay safe bro, and stay funny...I love it

Your suspension cost as much as all three of my bikes put together. You reminded me that I need highway pegs. On my last long ride my knees gave out after four long days. I love that extra luggage rack that takes the place of the rear seat.
Yeah it's a bit much. I grew up riding bikes built from the ashes of others for the price of a meal or two, but sometimes it's nice to just get the best thing available to use.
The South African embassy is such an embarrassment. A real representation of exactly what is happening in South Africa.
True that. It's such an amazing place, with amazing people, ruined by the power of so few.

New sub and like, i was on my way to OZ for a solo 1 year trip, however i blew my knee. So now heading to Baja Mexico for 3 months or more during winter here in the states..by the way check out big agnus mattresses, pack down 1/4 of that one and super comfy... cheers, enjoy...Coco
Sucks about the knee. Hopefully you don't have to go "cruiser" for your trip. I did some upgrades for the Africa part and ended up with an inflatable. Literally the size of a coke can.

Just a tip, get rid of the Sena camera and buy a Gopro or Dji......the quality of the video looks like if it was filmed 10 years ago
This is the only camera that functions as I need it to. Maybe it's because I only upload in 1080p

My other channel is about 4x4 stuff. The YT algorithm hates unrelated content, so I'm keeping bike stuff here uploaded weekly, and 4x4 stuff there.

@@RidiculousthingsMotorcycles I have my Panasonic mounted on the peak using the Scotch Extremely Strong velcro and doublesided tape to create a secure cradle for it. As you're already on the road I doubt you'll get a chance to do anything until Perth, but if you grab the necessaries before leaving OZ that'll give you something to think about on the flight.
Generation Z in a nutshell. Complaining even before the trip has started. Back in the seventies my girlfriend and I bought a map, packed our tent and went through 6 countries on our first holiday on my GT550. On our way back we only had money for gas because of a puncture and some repairs. We shared a baguette for three days and slept in gardens and at edges of football pitches. Most people are nice. Just ride.
I'll give you the boomer pass. Someone of your age should know better than to spend so much effort trying to put others down in several comments. The world has changed since the 70s. Try doing it again now and you'll get a shock.
