    Thanks so much for this video I was convinced that nothing would work on my walls after my grandchildren put colored chalk on my walls I tried everything, bleach, spray, cleaner, soap, I couldn’t figure out what was going to get this off the wall. I was going to spray paint over it but I was worried how it was going to look and I saw your video and I was so happy that I did so I went to Target And I got the Magic eraser sponge it works amazing I couldn’t believe it. I was so happy I’m always going to keep them around, especially with kids. Thanks again for posting this video. You are a lifesaver. I’m definitely going to tell my children and everyone and next time I go back to Target I am going to thank the person who help me 😊

      So glad to hear that Mary. It was a life saver for me too when a builder accused my team of leaving marks on the wall in a client's house we were working in. The sponge saved us from having to pay for a repaint. I think you've been lucky - your walls were obviously painted well with a few coats of good quality paint as the sponge actually removes paint so if the covering isn't sufficient you can quickly find yourself down to the plaster beneath.

      Ajin ABRAHAM CHACKO Yes, it should remove hand marks/ old marks. You've just got to remember that when you rub the wall it takes a small layer of paint off - so if you rub too hard, or if the paint isn't great quality or is thinly applied, you'll be back to the plaster underneath.

      Yes but there's a worry it will take off a lot of the paint. Get some Multisolve spray from CT1. Great for removing sticky residues but again will probably take off a layer of paint. I'd spray CT1 leave it a moment then gently wipe off.

    • @CharlieDIYte
      @CharlieDIYte  5 лет назад

      It should do but depends on how many coats of paint the wall has, and how good the paint is. If not many coats and cheap contract emulsion you'll run the paint off if you're not careful.

    • @CharlieDIYte

      +Frankie Gee Make sure the sponge is moist when you use it - as if it's too dry it won't work properly. The wall will be a little wet straight after, but will quickly dry so you shouldn't need to dry it.

    • @CharlieDIYte
      @CharlieDIYte  2 года назад

      Difficult that as it always depends on the wall and the paint that's been used. You don't want the sponge to be too water logged when you use it.

  • @cloveret84
    @cloveret84 3 года назад

    I tried this on blue color wall and it removed part of the paint such that it turns into a lighter patch... Its not suppose to work on colored walls?

    • @CharlieDIYte
      @CharlieDIYte  3 года назад

      Yes it is but you've rubbed the paint off revealing the light base coat beneath. How much of the paint it rubs off depends a lot on the quality of the top coat and how many coats were applied.

    hi! does this remove blue tack stains?

    • @CharlieDIYte

      Possibly but depends on the quality and thickness of the paint as the sponge does remove the paint so if you're not careful you'll scrub through to the plaster.

  • @sophK17
    @sophK17 7 лет назад +4

    would it work on marks left by blu tack?

    • @CharlieDIYte
      @CharlieDIYte  7 лет назад

      +soph You've got more chances of removing the marks with a magic sponge than with anything else. Try it out gently with the sponge nice and damp and see if it comes off. The main problem you'll have is with rubbing the paint off - you're always going to rub some paint off, but you don't want to rub so much off that the undercoat/ plaster starts to show.

    • @marinathompson8080

    • @CharlieDIYte
      @CharlieDIYte  6 лет назад

      If the stain has gone right into the paint then the only way you can remove the stain is by rubbing away the stained paint, and if the paint isn't that thick/ wasn't great quality the danger is you'll rub too much of it away, revealing the undercoat.

    • @CharlieDIYte
      @CharlieDIYte  3 года назад

      It's going to be more effective than anything else, Sara, but it all depends on the quality of the paint, as if the walls have a cheap contract matt emulsion, the danger is you'll rub it off quite quickly, but give it a go and be gentle (and make sure the sponge is moist.

      +Ami Siga Thanks both for your comments. The only thing I would say to Marina is that these sponges are so cheap it really doesn't matter that they disintegrate after a few uses. In fact they are designed to disintegrate. It simply isn't a reason not to buy them. Their chemical make up makes them much more effective than standard sponges - believe you me, I speak from experience from working in the soft furnishings industry where magic sponges have removed scuff marks and the like from walls that standard sponges just wouldn't touch. I can't speak for the effectiveness of eucalyptus oil but I'm not sure I'd want to put this on a wall ... :)
