looks nice! I like to have as little as possible attached to me, so i put the repellrope (65 feet, climbing a bit higher) in my backpack and connecting that backpack on the tree as soon as i am on hunting hight. The thing is, i have the backpack with me anyway, my coffee/tea & snacks and other stuff is in it, so why not just put the repellrope there too. Never had any troubles with it and i just love the feeling of having nothing attached to me in the tree except the safety stuff.
You provided another great and timely (for me) video. Great job! Just last night I was rolling up and practicing how I will store my 40 feet of rope. I will probably buy or build a roll pouch to try. There are several people online who tell you how to make your own roll pouch, but there are also several people who are also making them and selling them. It is great that Timothy Conrad and others are selling them.
I got my roll pouch today. Looks great! Waiting for my 30' oplex rope with sewn eye to come in. Thanks again for doing these videos for us. Very very helpful.
@@SaddleHunter I ordered it from R&Wrope. I had them sew a 6"eye on one end. It should be here next week... They are the only game in town I guess. Have to wait 3 weeks for them...
Anyone know if the Timothy Conrad linked in the description is still making these? I followed the link and the only indication the person has any connection to archery at all is his profile picture. There's no mention of the roll pouches or pictures. Don't want to bother the guy is he isn't making them.
Exactly what I was looking for! However, I don't do trace-book. How can he be reached to purchase a roll pouch? Thanks! As usual you hit the mark and in a timely fashion!
Nice pouch, but I’m liking a turkey vest or a dove hunting vest, dove vest is even lighter, but the turkey vest by STRUT has A LOT of pockets for all kinds of stuff, and plenty large pockets for saddle in the back, and ropes on the sides and numbers pouches and attachment points for flashlights, knives, rangefinder, prusiks, etc and distributes the weight nicely,
Mine came in the mail yesterday and it's better than I expected. I thought it might be flimsy but it looks and feels super durable. Really good deal and I like being able to support a local American who has his own business.
You can reach him on Facebook and send him a PM to place an order: facebook.com/timothy.conrad.14/ Or you if you prefer email, here is his address. You'll need to use an actual @ sign. Tim.sam0702atgmail.com
No. Carl Kossuth, Tethrd’s lead designer developed the roll up pouch. You can see it in Greg’s one sticking video from several years ago. Everyone else copied that design.
I would suggest getting in the habit of always having the safeguard attached to your rope...after you retrieve your rope attaching it back on because you wouldn't want to lose that precious peace of equipment.

It is good that you covered that method for rolling up the rope using a figure 8. It is working out well for me.
Good, it really is pretty easy, but a lot of people (myself included) aren't familiar with that technique.

I have often thought of buying a heavy duty sewing machine but my wife tells me I need less hobbies, not more :)

No problem. Where did you get your oplux with the sewn eye from?

Very helpful methods of handling the rope.
Glad it was helpful!
What kind of shackle/biner/? is that on the end of your rappel rope????? Nevermind- I found it = Petzl P11 8BN delta triangular steel quick link
Looking forward to the new videos
I'm hoping to have one up on Thursday or Friday.

Just got my pouch, it’s pretty awesome!
Sweet! Glad you like it!
What quick link is that? Thnx
Great video brother. Thank you
Another great video man👍👍
Thanks 👍 I appreciate your support.
@@SaddleHunter yea man, you’re going to be one of the top saddle hunting / SRT (now SRS) channels on RUclips. No doubt.
Just ordered one!
I hope you like it!
so what do you recommend for someone just starting out ? best saddle good platform?
Nice review!
Glad you enjoyed it
what is the dump pouch you had like a tube that hanks long ways?
Great video.
Thanks Brian!

I've heard of guys using the turkey vest. It's certainly a viable option. If they made one that carried sticks well everyone would own one.
Does Timothy still make these? I cannot find a profile on Facebook that seems like someone that makes saddles. Great video. Thanks
Any luck finding one?
I just messaged the gentleman that the quicklink sent me to and asked. I'll comment with an update as soon as I have one
Is he still making these pouches? I haven't heard back from emailing him.

Link to the strata roll pouch?
I know this video is 3 yrs old but can you still get the roll pouches?
Yes you can. Tethrd makes a roll pouch. It’s awesome and what I run
How do I contact this guy to get one?
You can do the "hand to elbow" wrap and just fold that in half like u did with the figure 8 lol.
Sure, if you want a tangled mess… the figure 8 method will keep the rope from getting tangled 99.9% of the time.
@@sigeptexaskappa1 Whaaat? Never had a single issue lol
What knot did you use to secure the Triangle Quick Link? Thanks in advance . . .
Scaffold Knot
Nice theophy room
Thanks. It’s coming together. Hoping to add an aoudad this fall.
Dam happy I seen this video. I already sent him a message
Thanks for watching!
Who sells that pouch?
Timothy Conrad. There’s a link to his Facebook in the video description.
Timothy makes great pouches and super fast shipping
If you go one stick saddle hunting this season, will you personally store your rappel rope in a roll pouch, a drop out bag, a drop pouch or what?
I have become a big fan of the drop out bag. I'm going to release a video sometime before the end of summer about my entire one-sticking set up.
Can you send me that link please.

So are you now using a roll pouch or the Drop Out Pouch?
I'm using both, I have them set up on different saddles. I find myself grabbing the drop out bag more often though.
@@SaddleHunter What was the brand on that second pouch you held up (black top, grey bottom)
I sent a message to him...hope I can get a pouch....does he have PayPal? Thanks for all the great videos...always very informal
Yes I believe he does. Were you able to connect with him?
@@SaddleHunter no he has not seen my message
wow... did Tethrd just straight up steal Tim's design?

Do rock climbers use roll pouches? Most of this new stuff is coming from what they use.
I do not know for sure. Carl Kossuth from Tethrd designed the first one that I ever laid eyes on.

That is a good tip. I typically just climb with a friction hitch and rappel with an ATC. Thanks!
