Love the deck. Looks very well Built. I think you made the right call with Smothering. Edgar is mostly about not missing land drops and using your natural Mana to churn out the vamps. I think smothering is a luxury but not a necessity. War leader will help you win more games
I've heard the "eminence was a mistake" thing a lot too. They put eminence on Sidar Jabari just last year, so I'm guessing it was taken out of context. Jabari's eminence was much more specific than those 2017 commanders, so I wonder if they consider that a proper fix or still a regret.
@Utenlok When Long Pete joins us he always play Cube's Sidar Jabari deck and I can tell you his eminence trigger pulls him ahead nearly as well as Edgar's. *Anything* a player gets for free, especially when triggered by doing something they and the deck wants to do anyway is going to be borderline broken, at best.
Something to consider about the Roaming Throne, it doubles the vamp tokens you get if you have Edgar on the board, as well as the +1/+1 counters. Same with all vamps you control. Doubles up on EVERY triggered effect. More than worth the one token you don’t get for playing it.

I realise I forgot to mention the card I took out for Warleader's Call is Smothering Tithe, curious to hear if anyone else agrees that was the right choice. About the tokens, I see now that I did NOT talk about them, that was in a deleted take where I had too much glare off the sleeves and had to reshoot. At the time I made Edgar Vampire tokens were 1 - 2€ apiece, neither my LGS nor any MKM seller had enough to order a good number of them in one go. Rather than order 2 - 5 from a grip of different sellers I made my own. Unlike other decks I have where I can use buttons or dice for tokens Edgar really demands cards in order to represent the board state accurately, what with all the effects that give my creatures +1/+1 counters.
@@Lil_vara I used an old program called 'Magic Set Editor', it allows one to choose the frame, add text and simply select any image one wishes for the card image. Once I had those I printed them out, cut the card and glued them to junk commons I sanded the front down with a bit to reduce the thickness / compensate for the thickness of the paper I printed the tokens out on. Quite a bit of work for so many tokens, but still faster and cheaper than trying to buy official copies.
@@keywacat I like your deck by the way I’m in the process of foiling out my version of Edgar , ours has some similarities and some staples as well, I’m looking to make another version with a bunch of one 1,2,3 drops and support with token support and sac it should be an interesting switch up!

@@Lil_vara I saw this dude on MOTL win on turn 3 or 4 with a build that appeared to have nothing over 3 CMC other than Edgar himself. It was BRUTAL!
