    Your land has some slope to it, doesn’t it? Just wondering about how exposed the basement might be and things like basement windows and such. Also, I agree with Rebecca about wanting to be able to drop groceries close to the garage door. I think that pantry access will be a smart move!

      Yes, we have quite the slope on the land. We are orientating the front of the house to face West which is kind of diagonal on the hill. It’ll allow us to have that walkout basement on the low side. We will have a couple of window wells in the upper side (required for egress in bedrooms).

    Why do you want the master near the kitchen?

      Coffee. That’s pretty much it. Ha ha. We hated having to walk 100’ to get coffee. And then our sitting area was in our master so we would walk back after getting coffee.

      @@dirttodone865 Coffee bar in your bedroom/bathroom! Another idea for your little desk/nook area. Maybe on a shelf above the desk? Then you don’t even have to leave your suite! 😉
