The sequels fly off the rails a bit, but this one was still funny. Scary Movie is that stupid entertainment that you can indulge in occasionally. So many film references are crammed into this film. ("The Haunting to Mission: Impossible 2; House on Haunted Hill to Charlie's Angels; Hannibal to Titanic; Hollow Man to Save the Last Dance. There's even some What Lies Beneath, Titanic, Dude, Where's My Car?, and Twister")
Seth MacFarlane's "A Million Ways to Die in the West" is really funny if you haven't already seen it.

This is so funny though. Just two days ago I watched a ton of RUclipsrs react to this exact movie. And now one of my favourite RUclipsrs is watching this movie two days later and for me at least totally out of the blue.

The era of parody movies was the best time to watch movies. The Scary Movie franchise are based on 'Scream' (another franchise) and 'I Know What You Did Last Summer', but there are a lot of other movie references. Probably why horror movies don't phase me lol. You should definitely watch Scary Movie 1 as well. It's just as hilarious, but a little more gruesome

To get the humor fully in Scary Movie 2, you need to watch The Exorcist, The Haunting (Late 90's early 2000's), What Lies Beneath, and Poltergeist.
Definitely great choices to react to as well.

With the cat and skeleton, it is supernatural. Regular physics go out the window. It turns out okay here, but it could have easily been impervious to physical force.

These parody movies are my favorite! They get a lot funnier if you've seen the movies that are being parodied. The opening for example is from The Exorcist

Just letting you know that in America "fanny" means butt and random fun fact "growler" mean a refillable container which is usually but not always used for beer. So if an American woman says she's looking for somewhere to "get her growler filled" she's probably looking for kombucha or beer. I live in a very small town but it has a bar and even they will fill a growler. Does depend on the state though. Most states have laws against it AFAIK.
