Amazon had this unit on sale with a $50 (US) coupon, I paid a whole $120 for it. Worth the cost to be able to reset a high idle issue caused by the computer thinking the throttle body was open at idle. Took me a bit to figure out the menus, but I found what I needed and probably saved myself $100-200. Maybe later on I'll look at getting something better with more reset options and maybe bi-directional scanning, but for now this gives me more options and info that some of my basic scanners do.

Nice but expensive. I've always used the £20 versions for my old bangers and they have worked well and allowed resets lol 😁

Will this thing be able to put the electronic park brake into maintenance position, so you are able to work on the rear brakes?

It’s entirely possible.. I’d email their support and check!

as a trained mechanic, yes an OBD2 reader is good to have, but do you trust them to the ends of the earth? no, but most garages would say yes, why? so they can charge maximum price for a new ECU, and then if that doesn't fix the issue, then they can charge you extra for the cheaper parts that were faulty in the first place not the ECU. you should trust the OBD2 to give off information, but then go the cheapest route, like a switch is broken, or a sensor is broken, or a cable is broken. and illiminate it that way. I have been on the recieving end twice now with one particular garage this month being the 2nd time. as they diagnosed the battery capacitor as the main fault. did it fix the issue? no, what is their conclusion after charging for diagnostics, part, and labour, well it must be a faulty ECU, which will cost £912 ontop of the £512. not to mention I had other car issues this year that wiped out all of my savings of nearly £2,000. yes battery needed replacing, and the brake discs, and servicing, and the clutch, but to get another garage bill for £1424 was a stretch too far. so told them I wanted my car back at the £512 point, and in the process of trading standards, as at no point did they report to me in the diagnostics stage that it would cost that much eg £912, plus whatever else they decide to come up with when that also isn't the issue, rather than charging for parts that actually need to be replaced.
