Recently my husband and I had dinner with a group of friends we hadn't seen in a long time. I got the standard judgemental questions about homeschool but yet they were complaining about their children's experiences in upper middle school and high school. Bullying, all of the kids on cell phones during class, behavior issues, etc.... I stayed silent during those conversations but once back in our car my husband, who normally doesn't hear the judgemental questions about homeschooling, questioned how they could be so judgemental when they spent over an hour complaining about their own children's experiences in public school. We both went to public schools, but the more and more we hear about the public schools nowadays, I think homeschool is the best decision for our kids at this time.
Thank you for this video! People are so delusional about Homeschooling and what is really happening in Schools. I’m so grateful my kids major friend groups are Homeschoolers lol
What are your thoughts on the role of sleep shortages on behavior issues in high school? I get the sense from things I hear and read in so many places that teens are chronically short of sleep.
I absolutely agree with that assessment! Sleep affects so much, including but not limited to behavior. Teens in the PS system have so much going on, I believe that more often than not they are not getting enough sleep
I always say I am old school! This is exactly what my sons friends tell him that are in our public school system. We have been homeschooling since Covid and he is now in 10th grade. There are no cell phones in my house- totally the not cool mom lol

So interesting. Love this! No one has the opportunity because it’s about creating workers, not thinkers. I truly believe it’s all pre meditated.
Thank you for this video. It was so helpful for me as I begin to wade into the waters of middle and high school years with our oldest.
Thank you for watching ❤️
This was a great video, melody!!
Thank you 😊
