The fact I cried for Anika showed how well of a character she was. She did not deserve getting gutted than having her face bashed in.
but you killed her tho
I was so happy it was a good kill
She rarely had no development just a throw away character.
@@red_ripper_jason5553 your funny 😐

Anika didn't deserve to die, she managed to have charisma in such a short time. The theater room was crazy for her to cross the stairs and when she fell the room was silent.
Same here 😞
I just wished that she could've survived, I feel like she already knew the possibility of her not making it, she let Mindy go first and sacrificed herself to go last which shows how she truly loved Mindy
@@Ddeonu-Stan1245 I agree with you
@ddeonu-stan yeah imo shes the derek of the movie rather than danny, the love interest with good intentions who ends up dying for their lover
@damiandreams6208 so true
By far one of my saddest deaths in the franchise, her telling mindy “baby I don’t wanna die” made it so much harder, they did amazing at bringing Anika in and making people fall in love with the character right away
I believe she said "Mindy" not "baby"

The death of Anika was both sad and brutal, really liked her character, she is gonna be the golden chainsaw for sure

Anika really had a lot of potential as a character. She has captured so much interest in such a short time. She would have been a good heroine and didn't deserve to die like that
Yes
Each film has some pretty gnarly kills to them but, on an emotional level, Anika's is probably the most brutal of all of them. For having such a short screen time she was really well written and the bond she had with Mindy was very beautifully established. Mindy's reaction is just plain heartbreaking.
Tatum/CiCi/Jennifer/Olivia/Liv/Anika 😢

I’ve always thought Casey from the first film and Olivia from the 4th had the most brutal ones but yes, her was definitely one of the most emotional impactful and I think it was because of the acting and dialogue.

Anika’s death was devastating. I was shocked that I managed to grow attached to her character in such a short amount of time, only for her to die almost instantly afterwards. The Scream franchise just *loves* doing that to me…

It was sad to see Ethan kill Anika because they seemed like such good friends before.
That wasn’t Ethan, it was his dad who killed Anika

I understand they prioritized the main characters by allowing Sam and Mindy to cross first. Still, they should have let Anika go first because she's the weakest, then Mindy, and finally Sam because she's the only one with enough strength to fight off Ghostface and get across the ladder the fastest.
FINALLY! Someone who has the same idea I did when I first watched this.
Yeah Anika should have went first cause she's new and inexperience dealing with Ghostface and then Mindy go behind then Sam be the last as she wasn't even injured.
Sam told them to go first. They refused
I feel like they should've taken the risk and killed Mindy here. I mean, it would raise the stakes and make the core 3 more determined to catch Ghostface.

For me this scene is one of the best, because of the vertigo it gives you when you see the characters in danger, and Anika's death enters my top 3 of the saddest deaths in the Scream franchise
This scene was intense 😲

@@KracicordeordndNo
she a baddie, she know she a 10
It looks good but when the knife went in
Here are some of my opinions on this scene
1. Saddest scene in the whole movie
2. Ethan WAS the killer because Wayne was at the station and Quinn was faking her death
3. Anika would have still died of blood loss
4. Anyone from the group could have called the police
5. Anika is the only one from the friend group (Mindy, Tara, Chad, Anika, Ethan, Quinn) that was killed
that girl is not quinn tbh it was a fresh newkill victim that looks alike quinn
you can also see the slice in the throat looks real and the eyes didn't even move
Everyone in the friend group not part of the core 4 died
@Dr.morg4n did you watch the whole movie? Quinn literally revealed at the end that she was faking her death so she could get out of the suspects list
@@Billie_Maximoff That is true. However, they said that Wayne killed some other person to use it as a fakeout for Quinn's body

Lord Ethan
Obviously
@@aadiandrew7499 Not just Ethan.
They should let her go first then Mindy and Sam should go last because anyway if ghostface enter the room he didn’t kill Sam because they needed her for the act 3 so it was the easiest way to anika for survive but her death was brutal as af😭😭😭

@@zerotodona1495 Didn't mean to pry, but I feel mixed up with different emotions while watching these movies.
The way Anika died, was BRUTAL
im still so mad ethan had the audacity to kill anika LIKE SHE LITERALLY WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE FRIEND GROUP THAT CARED ABOUT YOU???
Yeah but it doesn't matter we have seen the other screams and there pretty similar we can also see Ethan literally toying with her in the ladder which just makes 10x worse
ethan is a psycho it doesn't matter, ethan could kill detective bailey if he wants to, not that he can
bru hes ghostface ofc hes gonna kill anyone
I know the directors confirmed this GF to be Ethan because Jack Champion was behind the mask during a few of the takes. But I think it's funny how Ethan is definitely a childish like character within the film and so they have the detail of him playing with her by banging around the ladder because he could've just tilted it from the beginning but chose to mess with her instead like a child.
Having a character say they don't want to die is just such an easy way to make a scene more tragic. A cliche in films for ages but still works on me every time.
I think Anika was like those characters who are supportive and always there when you need it, such así Tatum Riley was there for Sidney Prescott. I think her death is one of the saddest and brutal in the franchise. I also got shocked by the fact that her good friend Ethan Landry killed her

This whole scene from start to finish was so intense! From the moment Ghostface "killed" Quinn to the chases through the apartment to the ladder bridge sequence, it was well executed. I love the writers so much for creating this scene and utilising the NYC apartments. The fact I cared for Annika dying and was emotional when she did die goes to show how much the writers made us care for the characters in this film compared to others.
This scene had me on the edge of my seat in the theater, definitely the most bone chilling and anxiety inducing scene in the film, and probably in the franchise (imo).

Anika may not have deserved to die, but she definitely deserves a golden chainsaw.
The only weird thing about this scene is i just don’t see how crossing the ladder, risking an inevitable death, was a better option than 2 of them holding the door closed until the BF or help arrived??
ikr, that would’ve been a better option
Anika and Mindy were bleeding out. Waiting would've ended up killing them.
@@lexdadominator2.096 that seems even more of a reason to stay in one spot while the BF could call for an ambulance?
@@lifeofryan1 I'd rather try to escape
The boyfriend could have come over and helped block the door, he's got muscle he's strong.
Heck he could have taken on Ghostface if it came down to it, he's young and strong while the killers were a 5,6 girl, a skrawny kid and an old man.
He could handle them.
But hey movie logic.
i wouldve holded that ladder like my life and does depend on it
Sam: 😡

Ethan was so ruthless btw.
the ladder really said : DAMN IT BTC I SAID LET GO.
BUT JUSTICE FOR ANIKA SHE DID NOT AND NEVER DESERVED THIS
The way she banged her head on the bin and just layed there with her eye open was so funny 2:55

Bro I love Sam and Danny together ;-;
Ankia literally had such a slow and painful traumatizing traumatic death and the
Facth that she was in so much pain she told mindy to say something more positive 0:54
Shows that shes so innocent and she didn't deserve that terrible death
What I hate is Chad is the only one who can stand a chance against ghostface and he left them there before coming back.
Chad is a b*tch. The dude has almost no masculinity
THIS!!
But for me it was Tara realizing about halfway down the stairs that they were still up there and decided to go back. the fact that chad was more worried about grabbing Tara and getting out of there as opposed to even helping his sister was a little odd to me.
@Nate facts, dude chose a lil girl over his sister... wtf 🤣
In Scream 7 he needs to go!
And he got stabbed like 20 times and still manages to survive, like what???
A lot of viewers theorised this is Detective Bailey, but personally, I will have to give this entire attack to Ethan. Ethan was at Econ, yes. But he could've easily circumvented his alibi by sneaking out for a short while to attack them and then return as if nothing happened. There was definitely plenty of time for Ethan to establish his alibi as the campus was right next to their apartment. Plus the killer here looks significantly taller than the one who killed Greg, Jason, the 3 bodega victims, and Dr Stone. Not to mention Quinn was actually talking to her dad (Detective Bailey) right before the attack, and Bailey definitely can't be in two places at once.
GEEZ! That was my intense!
But seriously tho “ your losing a lot of blood” is just what your gf needs to hear
1:20 wouldn’t it make more sense for Anika to cross next, then Mindy?
“Someone needs to hold the door” then proceeds to go next on the ladder anyway lol

The two recent Scream films (and the Drew Barrymore scene in the first one) do such a good job with genuine terror from the characters.
This scene, and Tara in the wheelchair in the last film, really focus on the sort of fear that's not entertaining, or comical, or a plot device to start an exciting chase, or sexualised, or any of the other functions you might expect from slasher film girls; the fear is desperate, childish, ugly, undignified and sickening to watch. Even if you didn't already know and like the characters, simple human empathy makes you be pained by their suffering and want to comfort them the same way you would hate the sight of a helpless animal being tortured.
Which, of course, just emphasises how evil and irredeemable the Ghostfaces are as they toy with their victims, as being able to enjoy causing and prolonging that kind of terror to people you've got no personal grudge with is something that requires untargeted sadism in a way that Jason Vorhees and Hannibal Lecter don't have.
