Graduated 33 years ago, but enjoyed your video. Nice to know alot is the same as I remember, although we missed out on those great dining halls! Always enjoy a trip back with my boys for a football game!

Nice Vid man! I think I'm going to Virginia tech as a transfer student! VT is the only top School in VA (apart from W&M I believe) that has a Criminology/Criminal Justice degree and English literature which are two of the Majors I really want to study. I wanna be a Law Student and need the best most reputable school, with the best academic record to get into a really nice law School, I believe with the convenience of transfer, and the available Majors VT offers, It is perfect for me!
I live in NOVA, so the school is really far from home which is a bit scary ngl, but worth it. The school has a modern twist to Gothic architecture which I LOVE. Really excited to be going here! I am interested in STEM majors but for my career path I can't pursue it! I was thinking after Law School I could study some sort of stem major for my Doctoral Degree :)
I love D2 too 😂 but nobody seems to agree. Football is my favorite part of tech btw

Hey, I'm considering VT as an option for me but their cross country team is out of my reach as you know, they're a very fast team. On the other hand, with the running club is there any requirements? I'm not 100% sure how clubs work in college
For our club anyone can join regardless of skill level! We have people ranging from 15 to 23 mins in the 5K
Hows the night life in virginia tech .Is it a party college? And for fall 2021 is there a chance of on campus jobs etc..
The dining halls are just unreal.

Hi Tyler, thanks for showing us and sharing us about the campus and dining halls and the sports stadiums. Especially during this time period. 😊 I would like to ask a question, I’ve been accepted to study here, but I am nervous about how foreign asians/ POCs are treated at VT because I heard it’s a mostly white community. Hope you can share your honest opinions. Thanks!
Hey I am also going to VT in the fall as a transfer student. I am black and I also kinda worried about the community there but I think that since there are so many clubs and activities to do and be apart of, hopefully it won't be too hard to find people that we can connect with!
I graduated in 92 and even then everyone was very accepting.
Out of the approx 30,000 students, there are about 18,000 that are white. The remaining 12,000 are not. So they are very embracing of everyone. The campus even hosts an International Street Fair which allows the community to come learn about different cultures, crafts, food, etc...Everyone comes together here. As far as the community of Blacksburg, it’s extremely welcoming to all races/ethnicities. It’s also very supportive of the campus community as well. And during football season, just about every tailgate or party will welcome anyone to join them. It receives several accolades each year & is consistently ranked among the best places to live along with one of the safest in the country. Check out stepintoblacksburg.org/our-community/ There should really be another video about Blacksburg and things to do around the area. There are several outdoor adventures to be found here; walking trails, hiking trails, lakes, rivers, etc... The resort that was used in the film Dirty Dancing is about 15min away & still fully operational. The Appalachian Trail is in close proximity. There’s kayaking, tubing, swimming, and one of the best areas to experience all 4 seasons (especially the fall colors). And if you like parties, well, they have plenty. If you like bars, they have more than plenty. But if you want a great community environment in the backdrop to match a great college campus, then the answer is Virginia Tech. ;)

I've just started at Virginia Tech this semester (as a transfer student) and it sucks that we don't get to experience much of anything at the moment 😔
Even before the covid as a transfer student you only have 2 years to experience the full college experience when everyone else has 4 years.

nice video!! but there's no way i can agree that d2 is the best dining hall- west end is definitely superior haha
West end probably tastes better overall, but you get such a good deal at D2 (all you can eat food for like 4-5 flex dollars)

i'm thinking about VT but is it worth the money? I'm out of state and didn't rlly get all too many scholarships so tuition is like 42k for me. Im going to have to take out some loans to pay it off. Im going for engineering, hopefully aerospace. Is the price worth it?

Hey Walker: Blacksburg is a super small town and is mostly college students. Apartment living is pretty easy to find as long as you do it ahead of time. And yes TA positions are super common among PHDs!
