Having lived in Seoul, Cheonan feels positively tiny by comparison. It feels smaller than a lot of Seoul's suburbs as well. I guess it's a medium-sized Korean city.
Johnny Strides true true. Compared to Seoul... compared to my hometown, Cheonan is a booming metropolis. It’s all relative. Anyways I enjoyed the video and I may revisit it in the future for nostalgic purposes.
I used to live in Cheonan. Hagwon teacher. Very wonderful modern city with subway access to Seoul. Very close to Suwon. And there is a bar at every corner. 😆
Cheonan is not a small city😭 maybe you feel that bc u only visited terminal, but there are some other places to hang out or spend some time in the city as well .One of them is called pentaport which is located in 불당동 which is considered sort of like Gangnam of Cheonan plus currently there’s a new developed town called 신불당. I think it is still developing , but it is certain that Cheonan is growing fast. and yes compared to Seoul, Cheonan is a bit small. However Seoul is the capital of Korea..so maybe it is natural that seoul is much more pupulated and developed than other cities..
It felt pretty small to me... then again most cities without a subway/metro tend to feel small. I had been all over Cheonan but that was previously back in 2009, I only had one evening there on my trip without much time to explore. Thanks for the info, I look forward to exploring it some more :) Also I did live in Seoul for over 5 years so you're probably right about it feeling small by comparison :)
Johnny Strides actually theres a subway in cheonan that goes to seoul, but it takes a lot of time, so i dont prefer taking that🙁Other than that, there are other transportations to get the caital. One is a train called KTX which is the fastest train in korea and the other one is a bus:> yes back in 2009 idont think cheonan is as big as now, but it is quite different from 2009. It has much more grown and bigger, i think. 🙂the bus terminal is a liite bit old place i guess. In spite of that, the reasona lot of ppl still visit the terminal is bc i guess it is still the hottest place in cheonan. u should definitely visit 불당동 and 신불당 when u come back to cheonan:) i think those places are the most developed areas in the city. And thanks for your video of canada🇨🇦 now im planning to go back to canada and thinknig about what city i wanna live in. I have been to vancouver years back but havent been to toronto however, becuase toronto is the big city as well, i want to know and see whats really like in toronto and ur video is really helpful 🙂🙂🙂 thx for showing us your amznig city😎🇨🇦🇨🇦
Hey Johnny, how is it living in Cheonan for you? I might move there next year, only been to Cheonan-Asan station once for a wedding, but not the city. Thanks
Cheonan also has a satellite city called Asan. The combined population of the two cities is close to a million. Also, there is a skyscraper called Pentaport in Cheonan. 🙂 And there are more people in Dujeong-dong than in the current video. If you visit Cheonan next time, go to Dujeong-dong.!😁😁
Thanks for the info! I only had an hour or so of time to myself and didn't want to get lost so this was the best I could do! If I ever go back I'll explore the other areas :)
Could you tell what's the difference between Jukjeon and Cheonan I wanna visit and study the Korean language in there. Wich one of this 2 is less expensive
@@samrad6508 Jukjeon is located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Do, and Cheonan is located in South Chungcheong Do. Here the Do is the same as the Texas California Yongin may not know well, but Cheonan has a rich village called Buldang-dong. So interesting. A cluttered, ugly city, but so clean. No garbage on the streets. Western cities could learn lessons on how to keep a city clean. Interesting that there are so many signs in English.
I thought it was interesting. It's not that pretty but you're right, it's very well kept! A lot of smaller Korean cities look almost exactly like this. I think it was during the 1988 Olympics when there was a strong national effort to have most signs in Korean & English.
There is plenty of rubbish on the streets. The area where this video starts is the cleanest part of the city around the bus station. There is another clean area called Buldangdong a few miles to the West. In between there is a great deal of rubbish. I am very fond of Cheonan having visited many times but a visit will show you it is an industrial city rather than a beautiful one. Some of the nicest people I've ever met live there though.
Erm... did you not see the sights of garbage now and then on the streets the further you watch the video? But it’s an interesting cityscape. Kinda reminds me of Taiwan with the multi coloured signs.
@@MyMelody5 Best thing about Cheonan is the people. South Korean people, probably all Korean people since you don't have to go back that far that they were all one nation, are very kind and will do anything for you. I think the architecture of South Korea is completely unremarkable. It is for me an uninteresting cityscape. But it's a young country with a dreadful recent past and all of that will develop as their wealth and fortune develop. Cheers.
I was born and lived in Cheonan until now!
Damn this is like living in North York with a million times more activity. Even the smaller cities seem so vibrant in Korea.
I wouldn’t say cheonan is a small city. I’ve lived here for the past 6 years and seen astronomical development!

Can't compared between seoul and Toronto... toronto also small place compared to seoul... hahah but i think cheon an isn't small.
Cheonan is now a large city. 670,000 people today, in 2009 400,000, and thirty years ago 50,000.
Would you please share your experience living in cheonan? I am thinking to apply to NSU this year!
