Chester had a very sad and very harmful experience as a child his story is so tear jerking. He touched so many battling their own demons and he fought so hard to battle his own but just couldn't. If you really want a very touching and softer side of Chester listen to One More Light.....makes me cry evertime.😢

This song is from Minutes to Midnight which was released in 2007. The lyrics were written by Chester just after getting out of rehab for drug and alcohol addiction treatment in 2006. Chester used songwriting and singing as a therapy to help deal with his feelings in a healthier manner than drugs and alcohol. Chester wrote this song about his struggles with his divorce from his first wife Samantha and how he felt after the divorce. You could tell what Chester was feeling with how he would sing certain songs. Chester had a wide vocal range that could rival Freddie Mercury. Chester could sing any song he wanted to. Chester could a soft song and then sing a really harsh vocal song and not have problems with his voice. If you want to hear Chester's softer voice then react to My December live Projekt Revolution 2002 and if you want to hear Chester's more harsh vocals then react to Chester Bennington System from the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. Chester could also switch from clean vocals to harsh vocals and back to clean vocals all in one song very easily and you can hear that in the song QWERTY live Summer Sonic 2006.

Chester loved Stone Temple Pilots and was able to be their lead singer a little while. He was also the singer for Grey Daze before Linkin Park. He voice with Grey Daze is amazing. Soul Song, Sometimes, What’s in the Eye and many others.

Minutes To Midnight overall had a much softer sound, more rock than metal, so I think it's no mistake that they started the album with "Given Up" just to show people. Songs like "Numb" and "In The End" are some of the "poppiest" songs from their first two albums, while the albums overall have a heavier, more metal and hip-hop inspired sound, with co-vocalist Mike Shinoda doing a lot of rapping as well. Please do "Not Alone" it's from and for their fundraising organisation, but the music video isn't for the sensitive because of the pictures, so there is a YT warning or do the album version without pictures. Because it is said that Chester screams like a devil and sings like an angel.
