*When you listen to any Linkin Park song, you'll hear Chester literally screaming for help. Back in the day there was such a connection because the things he sang about was like "Yes! Someone gets it!" It's things we've all felt before. But when I hear it now, it wasn't Chester singing about feelings from once upon a time. He's singing about what he was feeling every second of every day. It's heartbreaking.*

Waiting for the End from A Thousand Suns is one that I will belt out to. You could see his pain in the lyrics, while being absolutely gorgeous.

Waiting for the End is my favorite song!! It came out just as my marriage was ending and I remember the first time I heard it, as soon as I heard the words “the hardest part of ending, is starting again” I burst into tears. Not beach use I was sad, but because those are the words that I was searching myself for. That song truly helped me get through!!🤘

I remember when I listened to this on my iPod video and I decided to count the seconds of that scream. It was 17 seconds.
If you didn't know, Mike Shinoda has his own band called Fort Minor. I recommend from that band the song Kenji, which tells what Mike's Japanese American family endured in WWII. Also, Red To Black is HELLA good.

  • @Rabidpygmy

The group that got together wanted to mesh many different styles. They were signed, but couldn’t find the right vocalist. Then their manager set up auditions and Chester sang, and history was made. He was shared or main vocalist with Mike, who mostly did rap. Chester joined a few other bands whose singer’s left or passed. He sadly ended his own life in 2017. That is why he isn’t on the ‘current band members’ list. His voice was, in many people’s eyes, the reason the band rocketed to fame. They were also as good live or better than on their records which really pushed their concerts to huge proportions.

✨don’t feel bad about appreciating and loving the song…or any other song…no matter the subject matter. Yes, it’s especially impactful and hit’s different knowing his fate…but the fact that their music helped (and still helps) SOOOOOOOOO many people (including myself) to know they aren’t alone in their feelings, makes every one of us lucky to have what Chester and the band left us with.
Also, Mike Shinoda was the lead song writer for most of their songs, but each song always had major input from every single member of the band. They’ve said before that each song might be interpreted differently and have different meaning to each member of the band, as well as the public…and that’s what they had hoped for. But Chester would pour his heart into every song, and those emotions absolutely showed. He had a very very difficult upbringing and battled most of his life with mental health. He bared his soul and helped so many! The whole band is incredibly gifted, and talented…and i guarantee you’ll enjoy the journey through their music!!
If I could suggest a song, I’d say listen to their song ✨“Waiting for the End”✨It’s one of my favorites. It’s definitely a song that can be interpreted in many ways, and it happened to be released at a very difficult time in my life. I remember the first time I heard it I burst into tears. Not because I was happy or sad necessarily, but because it said the words I could not find for myself. It helped me so much at that time and still does today! My 14 yr old daughter also loves it :)
Anyway, sorry for the run on sentences🙃 I love how you appreciate music and HEAR it!! And I love watching your journey!!! Enjoy and be well!!🤘🤘🤘

Yeah, definitely a pretty serious disease, and he’d been singing about it for decades.
Most of Linkin Park is really hard for a lot of people to listen to, but for a lot of others, it’s such a cathartic release to relate to them. They’ve saved so many lives, helping people feel less alone.
There used to be stigma about enjoying them. It made fans seem edgy and targets for bullying, because “somebody has it harder.” It took a long time for personal feelings to be considered valid and acceptable as part of a normal human being.

As for title of Vocal God that is already held by the top vocal athlete on the planet Dimash Qudaibergen (Dee mosh Koo die bear Ghen) from Kazakhstan who has sustained crisp notes in several different octaves for 23 second runs many times. He can sing in 7 octaves, all genres, and 14 languages. His first album went platinum in 37 seconds and by 3 hours had gone triple platinum, just for example. Check out his SOS 2021 to start and put on CCs as the song is in french.
