You’re killing it with these reactions. If you wanna catch a real case of the feels, please react to Linkin Parks live performance of One More Light (the jimmy kimmel one). It was performed/recorded the day the world learned of Chris Cornell taking his own life. Chester was very close with Chris and ended up taking his own life a few months later.
It’s one of the most emotional performances I have ever seen.

He is still saving lots of lives for sure. I often wonder how many people still discover his work even now and can relate to it? Chester brought us all here to this reaction vid , together all our job is to keep talking about these issues with compassion, sensitivity and respect. It's great to see so many people bravely sharing personal experiences and hopefully that might help someone else realise that they aren't the only one and are not alone.

Chester burned so bright. We all lost when his wounded thinking convinced him that living was worse than the alternative. I celebrate those of us who have gazed into the abyss, yet remain to survive another day. Stay, don’t go. It won’t always be so dark. RIP Chester🙏🏼

I always wonder about that. Maybe in some cases living just IS worse. And yeah your right not every day will be the darkest one but, is a sad and painful living really preferable? I always wonder at what point one can say: "I suffered enough, I'm just tired of it!" Without being judged for it in the end...

That whole situation was so tragic. Chester and Chris Cornell both struggled with depression. They were very close. Chester was even the godfather to Chris' son. Chris took his own life, also by hanging. Chester sang at his funeral. Then, 2 months later Chester took his life on Chris' birthday.

One of the greatest moments of my life was meeting linkin park in concert in 2004 in texas and chester was one of the nicest not just person but famous person I ever meet. He took 5 minutes to talk to me and my girlfriend 5 minutes my not seems like a long time but when your someone like him really busy it goes to show you what kind of person he really is. We both grew up in Phoenix and talked about what local bands we listened to from around Phoenix.

    • @matty_mcmattface
      @matty_mcmattface 2 года назад +3

So jealous you got to meet him, and pleased for you of course. Examples like yours show how much of a classy man he is and how much true love and respect he shared with his fans. Nothing worse than meeting a famous person / idol and them turning out to be a complete jerk. Used to watch superbike racing and supported Carl Foggarty because he was from my town, literally 5 miles away - would watch races with friends, beer & pizza etc. He arrived at a bar I was in once and I was really excited, wanted to say hello & was even hoping for the chance to offer him a drink on me, but didn't want to get in his face when he'd just walked in the door. The bar was busy anyway with a line for ordering drinks so I queued to get drinks for my friends and myself. As I was about to be served by the bartender I noticed Carl again, trying to shoulder in the line in front of me and pushing at me with his elbow. I was shocked, all I could say was "excuse me?" at which point he turned to face me full on and said "don't you know who I am?"

This song seemed (like most of them) seemed so much more emotional and personal for Chester after 2017 for obvious reasons. I convinced myself that it was about what happened to him in his childhood, but then I read several times that Mike was more involved than Chester writing the lyrics. Is it darker than My December or One More Light?

(20 now) Went to go to another show and he broke his ankle then. Then the awful news broke. It has taken years for my daughter and I to listen to and watch the videos without breaking down. The hardest part is relating to this song and admiring Chester, he is your idol, role model, someone you look up to, someone who changed your life with music, seeing him at his happy moments and you hoped he was fine because you think “if he can get through it, so can i”.
And then he takes his life and you’re lost, you’re heartbroken, someone you genuinely cared about is gone. And the only thing you can do is reminisce in their music and videos, trying not to cry at just the sound of his amazing voice, fighting the urge to end it as well. He made such a big impact on millions of people and he’ll be missed forever. Rip Chester ❤️

Chester’s loss hit me especially hard. It’s always sucked losing great artists, and we’ve lost allot these past few years. X, peep, juice, Mac, Joey, Chris, the list goes on sadly. Chester’s loss was different though. His music has gotten me through allot because I can relate to him and his struggles on a personal level. I’ve never really been able to describe exactly how I feel or what goes on in my mind, but his lyrics described how I felt, and still feel on a daily basis. I never knew him personally or had an opportunity to see him preform live, yet when he died it felt like I had lost someone close. Chester changed my life in allot of ways through his music, and I was so lucky to have grown up in a time where he was still around. These past few years have sucked and I’ve struggled allot, but Chester’s music has gotten me through it all. R.I.P man

Same subject matter, but far more confronting if you watch the clip, try Disturbed 'Inside The Fire'. David lost a close friend and wrote a song about it. It comes with a personal message from David at the start telling people to get help and provides a helpline (for the US I'm assuming). At the beginning of the clip it is very confronting, but is a very good song as well. I wouldn't watch it if it might trigger something though.

Here’s why I can enjoy this song: this was Chester in a good place. He’d been through a hellish divorce and had hit rock bottom and had gotten sober. At this point, he was doing so much better, but this song was an expression of that rock bottom moment. Of course, depression doesn’t just go away, and that’s what ultimately took him from us 10 years later. But the fact he was feeling like this and fought through it to live those 10 more years is miraculous.

✨You just have to appreciate the incredible music the way he intended. Also remember that the entire bad wrote all their songs and Mike Shinoda wrote a lot. It’s always good to look up what the song represents to the band if your going to analyze a song. It can mean meant things to different people. These songs can be super cathartic to too those in pain. Please just try to enjoy and appreciate their work. And PLEASE DONT STOP THE SONGS SO MUCH!!! You completely loose the flow. Honor his memory by appreciating the beautiful and sometimes painful life!!!✨

The most amazing voices in music with the most relatable songs that hit you in the feels, tend to be the most tortured souls. It's hard to write a song about pain that is relatable if you haven't experienced it. I'd suggest My December from LP as another one and also Machine Head for a few songs too, Descend The Shades of Night and The Burning Red. Avenged 7 Fold have a few hit you in the feels songs like Dear God and So Far Away (which holds a personal significance because of the subject matter) Hope you're keeping well and your allergies have calmed down. Enjoy your week.

Dude, listen to "leave out all the rest" and THEN tell me...listen to all of Linkin Park, he has been feeling this way for decades. Trying to make people feel better about any of us feeling that angry, yet, he had the strength to bleed for us all over the lyrical sheets, for humanity. RIP Chester.

I love the fact that you don't talk to much about Chester's scream
It's kind of simple to any singer out there

I think some people who listen to this song for the first time post-death get too distracted with the lyrics. Having first heard this when it came out in 2007 made sense because they wrote it out of frustration for writing the album. It was fun to see in concert back then too.

@jariemonah Chester actually wrote this song on his own in 2005 while going through a nasty divorce from his first wife. He didn't take this song to Linkin Park at first but it was after Ryan Shuck (Chester's friend and bandmate from Dead By Sunrise) told him that he needed to do something with the songs he wrote documenting his struggles going through his divorce. This is just 1 of the songs he brought to Linkin Park. He kept quite a few that were eventually released by his band Dead By Sunrise. Chester went through a very dark time with not wanting to live anymore after his divorce but he got through it. Chester at first was go to release a solo album under his name but ended up forming a new band with his friends Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh and the original name of their band was Snow White Tan but was changed in 2008 to Dead By Sunrise.

@@sadiekincaid5310 I know the whole story about his wife and side project. I've followed him and the band. I just got the background of this song confused with another song.
