you can clearly listen that during the scream the whole music is set in a way that if she fails and cant sustain the scream anymore it doesnt stop suddenly and she cant end a little beforehand, which highlights how good of a job they made writing this song. as someone pointed out she probably wont be able to always peforma near 16 scream after nearly 2 hours of a show, there is a only a few singers in the world that can actually pull that off constantly and even them will tell you how fucking hard it is, so yeah im already sold for heavy is the crow no matter if the live version has a shorter scream

Appreciate your take. I think she did 12 seconds in the first live performance of this song. But we also have to keep in mind that Chester rarely did the 16 second scream live. Pretty sure it will vary from night to night. Some nights she will probably do 14-16 seconds and others she may only do 8 seconds, depending on how her voice feels after 2 hrs of performing. And it is all ok. Just enjoy the music OR choose not to listen to it.

Pretty good. Solid instrumentally. Mikes still got mojo. Emily is very impressive in her own right, never mind legacy. Chester is gone sadly, and music has changed. This works now, songs written to sound like Hybrid Theory or Meteora probably wouldn't. It's close enough to still be Linkin Park. TBH The whole band killed this song, I love mikes verse as much as I like Emilie’s crazy scream. I actually wanted to try to memorize his verse after hearing it. They are gods with other instruments aswell we couldn’t get music without each one of these members
Gotta say, SO FAR (not definitive), her consistency is better live (few songs messed up in the intro show, either emotional moments, or just off key a bit, and then no problems at the full shows in LA, NYC, or Hamburg) - not to say every show is or will be. Chester's best is still the benchmark, she doesn't reach that level, but he wasn't at his best most of the time. Her consistency is definitely better so far, but 4 shows isn't a realistic sample. I’m so glad that she is carrying on with bringing her own stamp to the band rather than trying to fill in the place of Chester and this song is her paying homage to Chester and given up they really are producing something magical here. So it could even be a 3 sec scream that they copy pasted pasted pasted pasted lol. But hey it's a studio track, everything is allowed, i just think that people using this as a video title, forget that a studio track can be cheated in sooo many ways. but like I said I love that track it brings me back to meteora in so many ways and i cant wait to hear the whole album. That’s what I thought too and then watched the Hamburg show. Was a couple seconds shorter I think, still legit. I’m okay with studio magic doing a part as long as she can consistently do it reasonably well live. And I think pure self-respect dictates she did that. They put a very deliberate intake of air at the end of the scream too, great dramatic effect and all, also supposed to make it sound as if it’s a single breath. I’m pretty sure any decent audio engineer could make it sound seamless though. This is not a diss on Emily, I love the song and I like the scream a lot. I’m not one for sports metrics in arts, if it’s good, it’s good. This is good.

@@ownitacademy8103 Yep, I believe live she holds the scream for about 10 to 12 seconds which for live is about the farthest you'd want to go when you're doing 20 songs or something like they are in their setlists.
But that didn’t happen it’s one long glorious scream that she did live minus a few seconds short AFTER a 2 hour show including Given up.
That’s what I thought too and then watched the Hamburg show. Was a couple seconds shorter I think, still legit. I’m okay with studio magic doing a part as long as she can consistently do it reasonably well live.
And I think pure self-respect dictates she did that.
They put a very deliberate intake of air at the end of the scream too, great dramatic effect and all, also supposed to make it sound as if it’s a single breath. I’m pretty sure any decent audio engineer could make it sound seamless though.
This is not a diss on Emily, I love the song and I like the scream a lot. I’m not one for sports metrics in arts, if it’s good, it’s good. This is good.

I’ll compare them. She’s better than Chester Bennington. She did it live. I’m tired of the fake love from those not even old enough or who hasn’t followed LP. Emily Armstrong is better. Her range is insane and Chester sounded like a female anyway. People worship Chester because he took his life. He didn’t give two shts about LP or anyone else “in the end” did he? Emily is the future thank God.

Dude, you have some true points in there. Emily is really good. She has amazing control and I would agree that she is probably better performing live than Chester was. And I do agree that some fans might be holding Chester up a little too high. But come on. There's a way to phrase things and not sound like a complete a******. Show some respect for people who suffer from mental illness man.
