I have the tacops and just installed the eps carry mrs yesterday with the screws that came with it and did not use the plate. Looks good to me and it's mounted solid.
@@Gospeed777 I ended up getting the screws from QVO. While it felt OK with the screws that came with it , there was a tiny amount of play that I didn't notice at first.
I just did it yesterday, I put a plate with the Rear sights on a 365 that I was putting it together as a Backup Pistol, I carry now the Macro with Romeo Zero and I love it. I haven’t any issues since getting it when I bought the 365 XL
I was watching your video about using/not-using the provided plate for the Holosun EPS Carry on a Sig P365 optic ready (has the X slide). Out of the box, Holosun provides 6 mounting screws. 2 are 6-32 x 12mm 2 are 3-0.5 x 10mm 2 are 4-0.7 x 10 mm They do not provide 4 of the same type ( 3-0.5 x 10mm) screws with "2 for spares". If someone doesn't realize that, they could potentially damage their slide. Just thought you would like to know.
I noticed that without the spacer , there is a gap between optic and slide . It’s not noticeable at first glance. But when you hold the handgun up against some lighting you can see the eps carry sits flush in the back , but has a gap towards the front of the optic and slide. I shot it both ways , no issue , but ended up installing the spacer . Took care of the gap. I noticed this gap on 365 tacops, macro , and regular 365xl, with eps carry. The 507k seems to sit flush on the slides I tried it on. Just some info
I just looked at mine and I don’t have any gaps? Dimensions and tolerances should all be close enough that I wouldn’t expect differences. Not sure why you have this and would be interested to hear if anyone else is noticing this. I have a few friends that have the X MACRO either the WOS Carry and I’ll see how theirs aligns.
2nd this. Without the plate, the eps carry has noticeably more play and there is definitely a minor gap towards the front of the optic. There's probably a reason why holosun included the mounting plate.......
@@bap2139 when I checked with Holosun they said you do not need the plate if you have the shorter screws that do not have shoulders. I was also able to see two other X MACROs set up with the WPS Carry without the plate and there was no gap or play. They both had the shorter screws, one from QVO Tactical and the other from Holosun.
bfgprecision is correct... The gap is only because you're using the long screws that came with the optic. If get the Fdez Werx screws or have Holosun send you the correct screws, there is no gap. The optic fits tight without the plate, no wiggle/play.
I got the correct screws and didn't use a plate. BUT... I did install a Metal Shim Plate at the back to remove the minor amount of slop when the EPS Carry was installed. I found that without a shim plate, even with the proper screws fully tightened down, I could move the optic ever so slightly. It was enough to shift my point of aim by an inch or 2 at 20-25 yards. Which to ME was totally unacceptable.
All of the Holosun optics don’t really fit true to the P365 X Macro, until they come out with a SCS type I’m holding out. I don’t want any overlap on the sides or a gap on the slide.
Did you ever get any more info on this? I just installed my EPS carry on my new P365X with the skinny screws and everything seems fine. Direct mount, skinny screws. Screws seemed to torque down properly. Didn't feel like they hit anything...
First and foremost brother awesome. Awesome pistol. I'm going to purchase the talk ops without the compensator in the front. But my question today was where did you get that polished trigger and controls. Did you polish it yourself looks awesome
Thanks! The Tac Ops is a great choice. You get a lot 4x mags and a magwell. Also, not sure you're giving up too much with no comp in the slide either. I got the nickel parts directly from SIG, I put the link here below. Thanks for watching and for your your comment! www.sigsauer.com/p365x-controls-parts-kit-nickel.html
How long did holosun take to send you the shorter screws? I have the eps carry on order, will be picking up the x macro soon, so i don't want to be left hanging too long.
I used VC3 thread locker. I use Loctite often but I like VC3 a lot. It remains pliable so it doesn’t crack and it much easier to remove from the threads when/if you need or chose to remove it. Thanks for the comment! .
I'd almost be worried about the oil breaking down the seal on the bottom there... Even is just from the vibration working it's way into that material. I'm not saying it's a bad idea because corrosion is a thing not to be trifled with. I just don't know what the best solution is haha
The oil won’t breakdown the seal. It actually can help it from drying out. Oil on gaskets, seals is a very common practice. It’s done quite a bit actually. It can be excessive but there are no negatives to it from my knowledge. Thanks for your comment and for watching!
@@bryguymcfly99 I didn’t need to use the mounting plate. Maybe I’m just lucky, but I don’t think so. I did have to use an actual tool-not the cheap plastic tool that comes with the red dot. All I can say is the skinnier screws worked for me without the plate. Hope they do the same for you.
I bought the x macro that came with higher iron sights and the Romeo zero elite. I want to change the Romeo zero elite for this eps carry. Having the higher iron sights already on my xmacro, do you recommend me plate or no plate with this holosun?
Just got mine today. I have a gen 2 xl slide (retains the rear site) and my eps screwed perfectly right onto the slide. No plate involved. Guess I got lucky with the screws
That’s great!! I wonder if Holosun started including the shorted screws? That would make sense, cost is probably negligible and it make their customers happy. Nothing worse that finding out the parts that come with the part you just purchased don’t work with your firearm and you have to purchase extra part. It would be great if they are included now. If anyone knows please let me know.
I got the scs carry without the plate it sits crooked on the slide to the point the cross reticle is rotated visibly. With the plate installed its not as bad but still a problem. Did this with both my oem macro slide and my shalotek slide.
I found the beginning of the video incredibly informative, but all of a sudden it skipped from preparation to the optic was on the gun. What happened? Is it because of RUclips rules? The nickel trigger, takedown, and slide catch along with the barrel is a nice contrast. What companies did you get each of those from?
i installed w/o plate and the only screws that fit the p365 and noticed the wobble due to the screws being too long. searched youtube and ended up here. thanks for the info as i was like wtf?
Exactly! I came across this and couldn't find anything to help so I wanted to put something out there to be a resource after I confirmed this with Holosun. I'm glad I could help you out. I try to do this with things I come across, I have a bunch of other videos with items this like this in there and I'll keep letting you guys about things like this that I come across. I have a good one for the Streamlight TLR7 SUB for the 1913 install on an X MACRO. You need other parts than what you get in the box, I have a video on this. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
You certainly can and I do use Blue Loc-Tite 242 a lot, but for this I used Vibra-Tight VC-3 which I also use a lot and tend to favor because it stays much more pliable and resistant to cracking. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
Hey appreciate the video! I'm having the same issue with HS507x2. This optic doesn't come with the adapter plate though. I'll be returning it and grabbing the eps carry. My only issue is that the slide doesn't have the raised notches to secure the front of the optic. Have you encountered any issues without the mounting plate?
No they are not included. You can get them directly from Holosun but you have to call them and request them. They will send the shorter screws to you free of charge. I'm not sure why they don't include them, maybe they will change and start to supp;y them with the original packaging. Also, FDEZ Works and QVO Tactical both also carry them but you will have to purchase them for a few dollars. Hope this helps thanks for watching!
You’re forced to keep the dot at the very bottom edge of the window in order to (poorly) co-witness. Very disappointing. I guess I’m stuck with that shitty Romeo X.
That Lucas oil isn't that great as a protectant, and that is a lot of oil under the sight. It reminds me of Martin Lawrence in Big Momma's house using Crisco/butter on everything

Awesome, just be careful you don’t bottom out the screws. Take a caliper measurement to be sure, that’s my recommendation.
@bfgprecision yeah I ended up getting aftermarket screws from QVO tactical because I read to many stories of failures.
No plate is required! Yes, I work for Sig and can make that claim.
I have the p365 axg legion ? Are the screws provided with eps carry work with it ?
Did you ever figure out if the screws will work? @@7381366

Got mine from QVO, they also sent vibratight, stickers and an air freshener. Best 7 bucks I have spent in a while.
I was also surprised by the car freshener. They can’t be making much of a profit if you only spending $10 on all of it 🤷♂️
It sort of depends on your front sight. On my P365 I mounted with the platet which gave me perfect co-witness. Easy to try before you put screws in.
