As far as I can recall, I have never had a good experience either with a M1A1 AIM/Clickbait player. It truly is like the least skilled/worst attitude people get those tanks. It’s getting very hard to find any valid reason that I can put understanding towards anymore.
The artificial reload buff to Challie 2's gradient (5s aced) is one of the most horrendous balancing changes Gaijin has done recently, they perfectly knew what would happen after the addition of the AIM and Clickbait. Abrams' have now the same reload as the british for EIGTHTEEN shells compared to british only four!
You can buff the reload speed and other crap all you like but until the Abram’s gets a realistic armor package AND American teams stop being full of 1 death leavers the problem will still remain.
They just posted a dev response on the forum saying they don’t believe the Abrams has any form of upgraded LFP armor and they don’t believe M829A3 would make a difference. So as of now this 5 sec reload buff is all the Abrams is going to get for the foreseeable future.
Which is BS, they have been handed a U.S. military data base that proves their opinion on the matter wrong but they won’t accept a literal U.S. government website 😂

I saw in a forum post today about how Gaijin does not intend to increase the Abrams' armor protection cause they don't know if it was put on production vehicles (sure buddy), and it really pissed me off. It's just straight up unreasonable how shafted the tank is getting right now compared to what it should be. They did talk about adding M829A3 to the SEP V2, which they claimed wouldn't really change anything (it absolutely should). If they're not going to increase the hull protection to at least close to what it should be to match their contemporaries, then shells like DM53 and M829A3 should be given their IRL ability to resist ERA degradation to at least bring down the effectiveness of Russian armor arrays.
You can see at 3:31 that the ERA on the side consists of 2 separate modules- most people appear to only look at the terracotta roof tile looking stuff on the outside, but under that is another layer of ERA bricks.

One of my squad mates recently got banned for cheating. It was actually quite funny tbh. He was in a match with our Squadron leader and few other of our discord members around the time the 40k cheaters were banned. And while in match he suddenly got disconnected. Without saying a single word apparently he left the vc, the discord, and blocked half of the members and when checking the replays of him it was extremely clear he was using some sort of cheat.
Top tier USA isn't worth playing until the vehicles get their respective mods and buffs they should've had in the first place. Plus with the current win rates, playing America is putting yourself in an automatic disadvantage and its not fun

I don’t think anybody realizes this, but the abrams upgrades like the SEP ( system enhancement package) and TUSK (tank urban survival kit) extra side protection is based off fighting terrorists who mainly would fire at the side of the tank from an alley using RPGs and IEDs. The very few tanks they fought against were t54s and t62s from old Russian warehouses. Something to keep in mind when comparing the abrams to other modern MBTs
That and how loud they are in game. You could be on the other's ideas of a context box and it would sound like a normal 7 ton on the other side. Yet for some God knows reason they make them louder than a jet engine.

They gave the Abrams a slight buff only to reload as their way of being "nice" about "leave us alone about liners" because they truly flat out refuse to buff the US since bias is only thing that matters
I wish they buff the Challenguer 2s now, I mean, the good thing of the Challys was 5 second reload for 4 shells, now M1 is the good version of the Chally, with 5 seconds but a lot more shells.
The challenger 2s are just shafted at every corner. Gaijin thinks adding spall liners negates their issues, it doesn’t. Until the armour is fixed, ready rack increased and acceleration is improved, they will continue to suck in game.
Taking out my new IS2 as totally stock, I lost my turret ring. Put out a repair request and had no less than SIX teammates, over the next 10 minutes, stop right next to me and play peek-a-boom, but not one bothered to help me repair. I normally refer to WT players as crayon eaters, but I think that's making the assumption they're smart enough to feed themselves.
According to several sources, and the book “Tanks Inside and Out” and I believe the other by the same author, “The World’s Greatest Tanks” both state that the M1a1 Heavy Common and later (starting in 1987-88) received DU armour packages, and in 1988, the M1 gained an additional module of Depleted Uranium in its lower hull. There are documents you can find online that are official, but are older and do not specify how much DU is in the turret and hull. But it’s been known for a while the hull is protected by copious amounts of DU. Also, the upper hull also may even reinforced with DU or composite. I’d bet it is as well. There’s so much that’s classified though.

The reload buff is fantastic for the Abrams. But since it was given to all the 120mm Abrams it still doesn’t give any reason to play the bulky SEPv2 over the SEP and standard M1A2.
M1A2 is arguably better than both the SEPs, it has significantly better mobility and is far less vulnerable to HE, in exchange for much better thermals and better HEAT protection, which is arguably useless.
I'm a USA main, if the Abrams is getting a reload buff then every 120 mm manual reloaded tank should get a reload buff. Gaijin needs to stop making excuses on why to not fix the Abrams armour, by the way Italy, France and Israel are getting spall liners in their MBTs before America and not to mention how a single Russian tank getting a spall liner was enough now they're just giving up on the rest of the tanks for the time being 🗿 They seriously added spall liners in the worst way possible, all they had to do was just 1 tank of every nation for this update instead of doing 1 nation at a time, we'll probably be waiting well into 2024 for every nation to get spall liners on the proper vehicles
Gaijins refusal to add in at least some armour buff despite the mountains of evidence showing that the Abrams has better armour but immediately take propaganda numbers of Russian tanks at face value is so infuriating. Plus all the other issues this game has makes me wish some one will make a better version of this game (Or I if I had the funds,)
The reload buff is not enough to make any of the Abrams good. Much more is needed. Plus while they're at it they need to give the Stryker it's missing 3° of depression and correct it's reload rate to 6.5s and not 7.5s; as well as give the M1 Abrams M833 so it can have a round that's actually appropriate for its fucking BR, and the XM-1 M774 at the very least for that pile of garbage tank if they won't give it the missing smoke launchers.
It can pretty much be summarized that despite the snail’s efforts, not every vehicle is 100% faithful to irl, im an actual abrams tanker and a lot of the things that make it bad in game are dont reflect it irl.
They would probably buff the frontal armor like the lower plate if the US Army revealed the real life m1a2 sep v2, m1a2 sep v3's information like the armor profile and the firepower, something like that
The CROWS can mount the Mk19 and a Javelin. Doesn't have to be a machine gun (.50cal or M240B). For the Top Tier American Tech Tree, it helps to remember that Gaijin is 100% aware they underhand the Abrams, but they do so in the name of balance.
The A1, HC, A2 and SEPv1 (without TUSK) really benefitted from the reload buff, they can still be somewhat sneaky (Abrams means if you get hit you die) and are decently mobile. The SEPv2 however is still in a shitty spot. It's less mobile than the others, meaning that you have less benefit from the reload. It also has the twin towers mounted on the rear of the turret so it can't benefit from the reload using stealth. And with the DU hull armor not coming the SEPv2 is pretty much useless.
The sepv2 was made for urban warfare against infantry and light vehicles in middle east, so for a game that does not have those elements, it is literally the same as sep with bigger profile.
Not to mention the whole DU fiasco, but they also stated they do not believe M829A3 is any more effective against modern armor and ERA, a round specifically designed for Kontakt-5.
Thermals IRL -are- disrupted by mist and fog. Kinda. It's almost always better than visible light, but there is distortion. It happens for 2 reasons: 1. "Thermals" actually see infra-red light, and while it penetrates differently than visible light, it does get reflected or blocked by water. 2. Fog and mist have their own temperature and radiate their own IR, which can sometimes be similar to the temperature of ground or of the colder parts of vehicles, but not always. IRL the distortion isn't usually bad, but it's something you need to be aware of for those rare moments where it becomes bad. It's not as significant as thermal crossover, which happens around an hour after sunrise or sunset, when the warming or cooling ground is briefly the same temperature as other materials. IRL you can work around it by adjusting settings, but things can just vanish for 5 or 10 minutes.

About the reduction on the reload, it's that is wrong. 5 sec is way too big of an advantage, let's say both tanks screw up their shot, automatically Abram's have the upper hand. if they want to fix it they can add more armor, but not a crazy amount like they are asking. overalll its a game it has to have some balance
honestly i think thats quite unrealistic. yes you can load a 120mm gun in 5s but not 10 times in a row. ask a tanker. also by this argument every tank with a 120mm should be able to reload in 5s. The abrams absolutely needs a buff but i think its the wrong way. i can actully also understand gaijins decision regarding the hullarmor. if they would add it to the abrams for example the leopard should get alot more two because they kinda messed up the hull there two

I think this needs to be said: the first M1a2/naked V1 are the best Abrams you’ll get. The trend of NATO mbts in general is that all the “improved protection” variants are slight downgrades of the first real top tier you get. There’s really no reason to use your V2, TES, Azur, B+, etc once they’re spaded if you care purely about performance

@@JustinPlaysTV Don't forget that Merkava 3D had a 2nd gen thermals. They were early models that weren't HD, but 2nd gen nonetheless. Since Gaijin implements thermals based on generation and not actual resolution, they should give Merk 3D high-res thermals in the game as well.

Making the spall liners destructible is alright, but I feel like it was a missed opportunity to balance out shell types. They could bring in later higher penning Tungsten sabots which would act like AP solid shot in the lower tiers, and then model the ionized gas produced from self-sharpening for the lower penning DU rounds already found in game and add DM33 PELE to act as APHE. That way there is a tactical tradeoff for either more pen or lethality.

Reload buff was an attempt by gaijin to shut up American mains about armor and spall liners. A poor attempt. I haven't actively played America in 2 years and I can't be bothered because how squishy the Abrams are and the lack luster vehicles at rank 7/8. Only vehicles I actually enjoy is the ADATS and the Stryker. Probably the IPM1. America top tier is boring and not fun. Japan, France, and my absolute favorite nation, swedish, are way funnier. Swedes have variety and really fun tanks at top tier, France is more tanky and generally more mobile, and Japan is very mobile with insane reload. Russia is Russian bias and that's still more fun despite the Russian bias crutch.
It’s just sad how bad the snail shits on the abrams. They could’ve added du armor inserts as a upgrade instead of the new sep. And the whole spall liner being put in center tanks is probably the worst thing the snail has done as far as bias goes.

Obviously the M1s deserve proper armor, and yes this reload buff is an excuse not to give them their proper armor. However, this reload buff is actually a lot bigger deal than people realize, now a top tier cannon with top tier amnunition can fire off 17 rounds with a 5 second reload, which is clearly unmatched by any competitor. Not to mention that the M1 has good turret armor, and excellent mobility, and amazing gun handling. The reload buff will have far more in game impact than increasing the hull and turret armor, as the turret is already immune to everything and the DU hull will still be penetrated by top tier APFSDS.
Everyone talking about the static armor needing buffing, but IMO, the worst offender is the ERA ARAT 1 is said by the manufacturer, to be able to stop 30mm APDS rounds from 500 yards ARAT 2 is supposed to be able to stop 35mm APFSDS rounds from 500 yards But gaijin, in their infinite wisdom, gives them a combined Kinetic protection of 30mm That’s freaking autistic It should be 100-120mm of kinetic for ARAT 1, and around 150-170mm for ARAT 2 Actually moronic that that’s closer to the chemical protection that Gaijin has given them, even tho ARAT 2 can defend against TOW missiles But no, they give it less then 1/2 of its actual protection I think everyone would be fine with a 7 second reload if the tank had the protection it really has Especially since the T-90M gets insane protection, while the Leo 2A7V and challenger 3 also don’t get squat for armor upgrades
14:15 Not sure if you're aware of it, but the F-15A is infamously flimsy in this game, if you have ANY payload over 400 kg (full fuel load/a single rack of bombs) it makes the F-15A wing rip at anything over 6G lateral (aka going left/right, by rudder/rolling mid-turn, looping is the only one that doesn't tier) overload. seriously, the only way this doesn't happen is if you have a full missile loadout with no bombs. (this is supposed to "balance" it.... lol, makes it worse at CAS than an F-16C while ALSO being worse at air superiority) (update) Omg... the entire missile dodging run at 20:00 is just exceptional, the way you're so cagey with your moves is just such a treat to watch!
IRL the Abrams Loader can Load a round the max speed someone did it in the military was 3.8 secs the avg is 4.7 secs new Loaders get it around 6-8 secs this all depends on how good the breach is oiled so its smooth and the Abrams lower plate can withstand 530mm of KE and 900 of chem also for for question about haze environments no It doesn't mess with Military Grade thermals not even sandstorms
i like the spall liners dispite not having them myself. it gives me a good reason to not be angry for why a tank didn’t die. BVM however I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY CANT MAKE IT TAKE MORE DAMAGE FOR FUCKS SAKE!!! IT DOESNT EVEN HAVE A LINER.

Thermal sights are generally bad, as in they're not realistic. They're just some kind of a color filter swap thing. This is why mist is still mist, kicked up dirt still is dirt that blocks thermal sights, and you have half of the map bright white and other normal when the sun is positioned low on one end. You can google thermal camera images pointed at the sun, it's not an overbearing glow. I used to use green hot originally, because it's more authentic. But then they did some change, and green hot is just blinding, everything is on fire, trees, buildings, a piece of wooden bridge over the creek. White hot is the only playable scheme.
Not going to lie, back when I first got to top tier I thought all of the Abrams had 5 seconds reload since IPM had. They felt like there was nothing going for em and that 5 seconds reload felt like that one thing they were good at, firerate

The artificial reload buff to Challie 2's gradient (5s aced) is one of the most horrendous balancing changes Gaijin has done recently, they perfectly knew what would happen after the addition of the AIM and Clickbait. Abrams' have now the same reload as the british for EIGTHTEEN shells compared to british only four!

They just posted a dev response on the forum saying they don’t believe the Abrams has any form of upgraded LFP armor and they don’t believe M829A3 would make a difference. So as of now this 5 sec reload buff is all the Abrams is going to get for the foreseeable future.

Than decided to grind USSR tree from almost zero without premium tanks and i finally understood that no, it was not skill issue, and no, USSR mains are mostly the same, with the same procentage of braindead players.

I saw in a forum post today about how Gaijin does not intend to increase the Abrams' armor protection cause they don't know if it was put on production vehicles (sure buddy), and it really pissed me off. It's just straight up unreasonable how shafted the tank is getting right now compared to what it should be. They did talk about adding M829A3 to the SEP V2, which they claimed wouldn't really change anything (it absolutely should). If they're not going to increase the hull protection to at least close to what it should be to match their contemporaries, then shells like DM53 and M829A3 should be given their IRL ability to resist ERA degradation to at least bring down the effectiveness of Russian armor arrays.

One of my squad mates recently got banned for cheating. It was actually quite funny tbh. He was in a match with our Squadron leader and few other of our discord members around the time the 40k cheaters were banned. And while in match he suddenly got disconnected. Without saying a single word apparently he left the vc, the discord, and blocked half of the members and when checking the replays of him it was extremely clear he was using some sort of cheat.

I don’t think anybody realizes this, but the abrams upgrades like the SEP ( system enhancement package) and TUSK (tank urban survival kit) extra side protection is based off fighting terrorists who mainly would fire at the side of the tank from an alley using RPGs and IEDs. The very few tanks they fought against were t54s and t62s from old Russian warehouses. Something to keep in mind when comparing the abrams to other modern MBTs
I have a couple of friends that went into the armored branch of the army, both laugh at how comically bad the abrams is in game.
That and how loud they are in game. You could be on the other's ideas of a context box and it would sound like a normal 7 ton on the other side. Yet for some God knows reason they make them louder than a jet engine.

I wish they buff the Challenguer 2s now, I mean, the good thing of the Challys was 5 second reload for 4 shells, now M1 is the good version of the Chally, with 5 seconds but a lot more shells.
The challenger 2s are just shafted at every corner. Gaijin thinks adding spall liners negates their issues, it doesn’t. Until the armour is fixed, ready rack increased and acceleration is improved, they will continue to suck in game.

Taking out my new IS2 as totally stock, I lost my turret ring. Put out a repair request and had no less than SIX teammates, over the next 10 minutes, stop right next to me and play peek-a-boom, but not one bothered to help me repair. I normally refer to WT players as crayon eaters, but I think that's making the assumption they're smart enough to feed themselves.

According to several sources, and the book “Tanks Inside and Out” and I believe the other by the same author, “The World’s Greatest Tanks” both state that the M1a1 Heavy Common and later (starting in 1987-88) received DU armour packages, and in 1988, the M1 gained an additional module of Depleted Uranium in its lower hull. There are documents you can find online that are official, but are older and do not specify how much DU is in the turret and hull. But it’s been known for a while the hull is protected by copious amounts of DU. Also, the upper hull also may even reinforced with DU or composite. I’d bet it is as well. There’s so much that’s classified though.

The reload buff is fantastic for the Abrams. But since it was given to all the 120mm Abrams it still doesn’t give any reason to play the bulky SEPv2 over the SEP and standard M1A2.

M1A2 is arguably better than both the SEPs, it has significantly better mobility and is far less vulnerable to HE, in exchange for much better thermals and better HEAT protection, which is arguably useless.

They seriously added spall liners in the worst way possible, all they had to do was just 1 tank of every nation for this update instead of doing 1 nation at a time, we'll probably be waiting well into 2024 for every nation to get spall liners on the proper vehicles
Gaijins refusal to add in at least some armour buff despite the mountains of evidence showing that the Abrams has better armour but immediately take propaganda numbers of Russian tanks at face value is so infuriating.

The reload buff is not enough to make any of the Abrams good. Much more is needed. Plus while they're at it they need to give the Stryker it's missing 3° of depression and correct it's reload rate to 6.5s and not 7.5s; as well as give the M1 Abrams M833 so it can have a round that's actually appropriate for its fucking BR, and the XM-1 M774 at the very least for that pile of garbage tank if they won't give it the missing smoke launchers.
It can pretty much be summarized that despite the snail’s efforts, not every vehicle is 100% faithful to irl, im an actual abrams tanker and a lot of the things that make it bad in game are dont reflect it irl.
They would probably buff the frontal armor like the lower plate if the US Army revealed the real life m1a2 sep v2, m1a2 sep v3's information like the armor profile and the firepower, something like that
The CROWS can mount the Mk19 and a Javelin. Doesn't have to be a machine gun (.50cal or M240B). For the Top Tier American Tech Tree, it helps to remember that Gaijin is 100% aware they underhand the Abrams, but they do so in the name of balance.

The A1, HC, A2 and SEPv1 (without TUSK) really benefitted from the reload buff, they can still be somewhat sneaky (Abrams means if you get hit you die) and are decently mobile.
The SEPv2 however is still in a shitty spot. It's less mobile than the others, meaning that you have less benefit from the reload. It also has the twin towers mounted on the rear of the turret so it can't benefit from the reload using stealth.
And with the DU hull armor not coming the SEPv2 is pretty much useless.
The sepv2 was made for urban warfare against infantry and light vehicles in middle east, so for a game that does not have those elements, it is literally the same as sep with bigger profile.
Love the clouds and hazy environment.
Not to mention the whole DU fiasco, but they also stated they do not believe M829A3 is any more effective against modern armor and ERA, a round specifically designed for Kontakt-5.

Thermals IRL -are- disrupted by mist and fog. Kinda. It's almost always better than visible light, but there is distortion. It happens for 2 reasons:
1. "Thermals" actually see infra-red light, and while it penetrates differently than visible light, it does get reflected or blocked by water.
2. Fog and mist have their own temperature and radiate their own IR, which can sometimes be similar to the temperature of ground or of the colder parts of vehicles, but not always.
IRL the distortion isn't usually bad, but it's something you need to be aware of for those rare moments where it becomes bad.
It's not as significant as thermal crossover, which happens around an hour after sunrise or sunset, when the warming or cooling ground is briefly the same temperature as other materials. IRL you can work around it by adjusting settings, but things can just vanish for 5 or 10 minutes.

About the reduction on the reload, it's that is wrong. 5 sec is way too big of an advantage, let's say both tanks screw up their shot, automatically Abram's have the upper hand. if they want to fix it they can add more armor, but not a crazy amount like they are asking. overalll its a game it has to have some balance
honestly i think thats quite unrealistic. yes you can load a 120mm gun in 5s but not 10 times in a row. ask a tanker. also by this argument every tank with a 120mm should be able to reload in 5s. The abrams absolutely needs a buff but i think its the wrong way. i can actully also understand gaijins decision regarding the hullarmor. if they would add it to the abrams for example the leopard should get alot more two because they kinda messed up the hull there two

I think this needs to be said: the first M1a2/naked V1 are the best Abrams you’ll get. The trend of NATO mbts in general is that all the “improved protection” variants are slight downgrades of the first real top tier you get. There’s really no reason to use your V2, TES, Azur, B+, etc once they’re spaded if you care purely about performance

@@JustinPlaysTV Don't forget that Merkava 3D had a 2nd gen thermals. They were early models that weren't HD, but 2nd gen nonetheless. Since Gaijin implements thermals based on generation and not actual resolution, they should give Merk 3D high-res thermals in the game as well.

Making the spall liners destructible is alright, but I feel like it was a missed opportunity to balance out shell types. They could bring in later higher penning Tungsten sabots which would act like AP solid shot in the lower tiers, and then model the ionized gas produced from self-sharpening for the lower penning DU rounds already found in game and add DM33 PELE to act as APHE. That way there is a tactical tradeoff for either more pen or lethality.

Reload buff was an attempt by gaijin to shut up American mains about armor and spall liners. A poor attempt. I haven't actively played America in 2 years and I can't be bothered because how squishy the Abrams are and the lack luster vehicles at rank 7/8. Only vehicles I actually enjoy is the ADATS and the Stryker. Probably the IPM1. America top tier is boring and not fun. Japan, France, and my absolute favorite nation, swedish, are way funnier. Swedes have variety and really fun tanks at top tier, France is more tanky and generally more mobile, and Japan is very mobile with insane reload. Russia is Russian bias and that's still more fun despite the Russian bias crutch.

out of the 3 countries I have in top tier USA definitely feels the hardest to get wins on IMO
Obviously the M1s deserve proper armor, and yes this reload buff is an excuse not to give them their proper armor. However, this reload buff is actually a lot bigger deal than people realize, now a top tier cannon with top tier amnunition can fire off 17 rounds with a 5 second reload, which is clearly unmatched by any competitor. Not to mention that the M1 has good turret armor, and excellent mobility, and amazing gun handling. The reload buff will have far more in game impact than increasing the hull and turret armor, as the turret is already immune to everything and the DU hull will still be penetrated by top tier APFSDS.
Everyone talking about the static armor needing buffing, but IMO, the worst offender is the ERA
ARAT 1 is said by the manufacturer, to be able to stop 30mm APDS rounds from 500 yards
ARAT 2 is supposed to be able to stop 35mm APFSDS rounds from 500 yards
But gaijin, in their infinite wisdom, gives them a combined Kinetic protection of 30mm

14:15 Not sure if you're aware of it, but the F-15A is infamously flimsy in this game, if you have ANY payload over 400 kg (full fuel load/a single rack of bombs) it makes the F-15A wing rip at anything over 6G lateral (aka going left/right, by rudder/rolling mid-turn, looping is the only one that doesn't tier) overload. seriously, the only way this doesn't happen is if you have a full missile loadout with no bombs. (this is supposed to "balance" it.... lol, makes it worse at CAS than an F-16C while ALSO being worse at air superiority)

IRL the Abrams Loader can Load a round the max speed someone did it in the military was 3.8 secs the avg is 4.7 secs new Loaders get it around 6-8 secs this all depends on how good the breach is oiled so its smooth and the Abrams lower plate can withstand 530mm of KE and 900 of chem also for for question about haze environments no It doesn't mess with Military Grade thermals not even sandstorms

Thermal sights are generally bad, as in they're not realistic. They're just some kind of a color filter swap thing. This is why mist is still mist, kicked up dirt still is dirt that blocks thermal sights, and you have half of the map bright white and other normal when the sun is positioned low on one end. You can google thermal camera images pointed at the sun, it's not an overbearing glow. I used to use green hot originally, because it's more authentic. But then they did some change, and green hot is just blinding, everything is on fire, trees, buildings, a piece of wooden bridge over the creek. White hot is the only playable scheme.
Not going to lie, back when I first got to top tier I thought all of the Abrams had 5 seconds reload since IPM had.
They felt like there was nothing going for em and that 5 seconds reload felt like that one thing they were good at, firerate
