The only time I do well in the sep is when I'm defending and doing burm drills. Most of the time though, that's onlong range maps and the enemy has already steam rolled to our spawn

There are several main problems with the Abrams; The 'weakspot' is over-exposed more than it should be due to a slightly inaccurate model. Years ago a guy visited an M1 with a ruler, measured the turret-ring exposure and took photos of it. Gaijin refused to correct the model, citing that it wasn't a 'primary source'. Not joking. The weakspot is also made worse by the fact the game doesn't properly implement APFSDS-shattering. In reality if a round hit the upper plate of the M1, it should shatter and not penetrate. That's not what happens in game. Gaijin also don't acknowledge that the internal armour of the M1 provides some spall protection. It also doesn't model any turret ring armour at all. On the flipside, Russian ERA is overperforming ridiculously, A thin panel of side ERA should not defeat any APFSDS round, especially the M829A2. The M1's performance is so lacking Gaijin recently considering adding the M829A3 to the game, but decided against it saying it 'wouldn't really make much difference'. Think about that for a second. An APFSDS that was specifically designed to defeat Russian ERA, wouldn't make any difference in game, according to Gaijin. That's how bad they are at implementing US tech.

The Turret weakspot would only stop autocannons which would be nice I guess, but it won’t stop most things form killing you anyway, and that “hull armor stopping some spall” is a vague claim, also it’s not that Russian ERA is over performing although I do think it needs a rework to how it works, it’s more or less the game being spaghetti code as it’s inconsistent when it comes to stopping rounds
People are so blind these days, they can't even recognize a brilliant vehicle like the "HSTVL." It's like the 2S38 but designed for anti-tank warfare. In my last game, I took out three T-90Ms in five seconds-it's like they were made of cardboard! Later, while defending a point, I took three hits and still managed to destroy a Strv 122 (Leo 2A7). The "HSTVL" is so strong, it feels like bringing a tank to a pillow fight. Ultimately, I racked up enough kills to nuke everything. After discovering the "HSTVL," I never played the Abrams again.
It would be incredibly heavy if they gave it trophy, but I still think they should honestly. Otherwise, there's just no point in the SEPv2's existence, because it doesn't really change anything from the SEPv1 (which is arguably better since you can take off the TUSK kit).

It’s proven that they ‘Squashed’ the brums which is why it look off in game, IRL the brums is more stocky and beefy. Also it isn’t as thick since it doesn’t have it’s inserts
Idk having seen one in real life in person the warthunder one does seem a little to big but not by a huge amount. The issue is in real life making that shot would be super hard. Especially with how garbage Russian optics usually are from poor quality assurance. But is what it is
US top tier is so bad, my team dies in under a minute and leaves me with only one teammate to fight against. The win percentage for the US tree is below 30% which is why I quit playing on that tree.
Which is funny because any Abrams now can out reload or at least match almost every other top tier tank and yet US mains still are getting clapped left and right
i find the below 30% an odd one, because all of my abrams tanks have >50% win rates. most of the time we just dominate the enemy team, sure there are times where we get absolutely trounced but like... not that often

@@Mjstas A big problem with it in my opinion is the fact they refuse to give them a modern sabot round that is specifically made to beat ERA, the us army is already on M829A4 but the game still only gives abrams players M829A2, if I die with the abrams well yeah its my fault I probs was too greedy and pushed out, maybe I peeked too soon, etc. But when I shoot a T-80 on the hull or turret but it no pens? I have to hit the lower hull or the driver seat?. Dude the abrams and that round is designed to pop those things in 1 shot.
every time i look at WT Data Project i just keep seeing the 30% winrate America has and how it's been that way for YEARS, and Russia still over 65% despite literally getting less kills per game than America and it just reminds me how the Russian FSB psyop game literally has the games fixed so that Germany and Sweden are on Russia's team more times than on America's team and then how they artificially nerf literally everything America has. They refuse to model internal spall liners for Abrams despite anti radiation liners literally coded like a internal spall liner for Russian tanks even prior to when spall liners were in the game, same thing with internally modeled carousel, Russian/Chinese fuel tanks being the only ones that don't have armored plates around it and entirely dont spall, etc. they refuse to make A2 Abrams UFP 50mm despite it being that way irl, they refuse to up armor turret ring, model turret basket, refuse to upgrade hull armor, refuse to make ARAT 2 protect against tandem warheads despite LITERALLY being tandem ERA on top of layers of ARAT 1, refuse to give Trophy APS, give anything later than SEPv2 or literally give anything to help them. There's no light tanks besides HSTVL and Stryker, there's no AA with anti tank capabilities, still no AA to fix gap from 4.0 to 7.7, the LAVAD's rockets still haven't been fixed and are insanely off when you switch to them and use rangefinder. All AA and autocannon rounds for America have been nerfed or removed, and like i just dont understand how for Russia every single tank can get technology 20-30 years newer than what it should have, made up armor and guns... T-90A should have proryv-1 turret, 2A46M-2, and AZ autoloader all incapable of fitting, firing, etc 3BM60, gets it anyway T-72B3 same as T-90A only the T-72B3M gets 2A46M-5, so this also shouldn't get 3BM60 2S25M didn't even enter service when added, 2A75 cannot fire 3BM60 T-80BVM in game is a T-80B brought up to BVM standard, per stat card saying 2A46M-1 it shouldn't be able to fire 3BM60 2S38, there's so much wrong with this but biggest one is that 3UO8 is NOT a proxy round irl, IRST should give LWR since laser is what gives heading how the fuck are we modeling tanks and armor for classified T-90M, classified 2S38, classified this classified that, purely making up shit as we go but then when it comes to America.... oh my god.... M1 Abrams can't get M833 because it came out 2 years after first production Abrams (ignoring it didn't first see combat until 90's, T-55A also gets access to 3BM25 a 1980s round despite being from 50s) remove everything not accurate oh my god we need actual historical documentation it has to be 100% fully accurate and only officially declassified documents oh my god we can't upgrade hull armor because only 5 prototypes had them (despite T-80B getting thermals because of 1 or 2 prototypes having them) while every single Russian tank can sit on overperforming EVERYTHING with NOTHING being historically accurate, like i really don't understand how anyone with half a brain can look at the stats, look at the winrates, look at the state of the game and NOT think to themselves that there's clearly an anti American bias, what other reason could you possibly come up with that would justify literally HALF the winrate despite more kills per game than Russia? Spookston and RedEffect who has actual contacts witb US tankers had said the M1A2Sepv2 and 3 has no Spall Liners of any sort. As their already way to heavy as it is and the army does not want it to gain a handful extra tons. The TUSK on it aren't even meant for APFSDS but RPGs. The T-90M in the game is the Obr 2016-2023. Captured ones in Ukraine has it with 3BM60s.
@@pilotmanpaul The spall liners are most likely integrated in the armor layout on the interior, but it's classified so even tankers might not know or be able to disclose it. It just wouldn't make sense to have a tank with that much protection but no mitigation of shrapnel. Oh but the crew does have ballistic protection IRL which it doesn't have in game. Also he was talking about the T90A.

@@pilotmanpaul The Abrams 100% has multiple Kevlar layers and UHMWPE layers, NBC protection which Gaijin has already modeled “anti radiation material” but only in Russian vehicles which doesn’t generate the smallest fragments of spall, and Abrams crew even wear body armor. It’d be obvious to anyone that it shouldn’t be spalling anywhere near as much as it does

That turret bounce at 4:09 was honestly INSANE, I've tried to angle other vehicles like that to deflect shots and obviously none of them are as fast as the Abrams but I know that getting the timing right to predict when they'll shoot is hard af and you made it look clean.
IK which is completely wrong IRL at a distance the abrams sounds like a diesel engine their are plenty of videos with high quality sound that shows how low of a sound the abrams makes the only time you hear a turbine is when your inside the tank or its not moving thats the only way to tell if its a diesel or a turbine engine Gaijin just hates the USA
@@Bibodoi Measuring it based on purely loudness is not accurate representation. The abram engine has a distinct sharp hum to it that can be easily spotted compared to other tanks. Russian engines on the other hand have an engine sound that easily blends in with surrounding sounds so making it harder to detect. I main french and there were many times T-80 tanks could sneak right behind me without me even knowing
@ronaldmcreagann6343 yea, but you can use the thermals of the gun sight and not have to switch cameras, just driver up, shoot, driver back. All without changing cameras and never losing sight of target. Try it but becareful of height over bore with the sight.

The first shot matters a lot in top tier. The abrams isnt going to bounce many shots, and the gun isn't going to pen most snapshots. You HAVE to aim using the Abrams, and your opponents don't have to be nearly as accurate to cripple you.

Abrams has a terrible problem. Although it has 800 mm turret armor, it penetrates 50/50 sabot shells. Yes, this is not theoretically possible. But it happens. And the other problem is; When the Cannon Breach is hit, this scatter is blocked on other tanks, but 3 crew dies on the Abrams and Boomm

It’s called Russian bias. They accept Russian propaganda as fact on the “soft era” even though in Ukraine the captured ones have been shown to be sand bags with orange plastic plates to hold shape. But KA-52 gets 2010 era ATGM but Apache gets 1990s ATGM because MMW hellfire would be “too op” as it is not affected by smoke. Russian top tier is uncompetitive so they then reduced spalling on all Russian top tier MBT and some Chinese ones too.

You forgot to mention the real life reload of under 6 seconds (that’s just to pass as a reloaded in the tank crew) most are around 4-5 and some are even faster at around 3.
The problem with usa Abrams is compare to other tank it on either mid or below. First is you can hear the Abrams from across the map, second the turret ring shot sucks, the armor in the hull sucks, 3bm42 can pen a modern Abrams which i find hard to believe. Overalls you are better off in almost any leopard 2's especially Sweden leopards 2's.( Got top tier for France and have a better time in it, then in the US.)
For me, the biggest issue with US top tier is the teammates you get, US right now has the worst winrate in WT and it's easy to see why. I miss playing my SEP Abrams because they are great tanks but I'm not ready to dive into US top tier and suffer because games can get really rough, 9 out of 10 games will be a defeat unless you play in squads but generally I would not recommend getting into it.
Good players stoped playing US cuz abrams sucks, adats sucks, ah64d sucks, the only good thing going for US is F16, but it cant do anything when its forced to avoid S1, Grippens, Mig29s and Su27s. Also if you have to play sniper role with abrams you are better of with leos ans strvs.
It’s not a competition about who suffers the most, the problem with the Abrams is that it’s probably the most incorrectly modeled tank at top tier. Underperforming more than it should. The arietes, leclercs, etc are far worse of course. Though in real life they are not much better. The solution for minor nation tanks is to have their br dropped, gaijin needs to get off their ass and use the br system correctly, it’s a joke that the ariete is at the same br as the t80bvm and etc. The Abrams on the other hand just needs its many problems fixed, incorrect era protection, missing armor, busted turret ring, and non functional trap shot apfsds shell shattering.
The firepower of the Abrams in game isn't the problem though. It's the giant weak spots and the insane amount of shrapnel pens against it generate. Seriously, look at the protection analysis in the armor tab. Any pen is like being hit with APHE.

Absolutely absurd. Russians APFSDS aren't even long enough to be comparable to western rounds and armor. Length determines 90% of the performance of these rounds, and the Abrams has substantially better rounds available. Without FPV drones, ATGM saturation, and modern day advanced artillery, all of which can dispose of ANY type of tank, Ukrainian Abrams would be dispatching T-80 and T-72/T-90 by the dozens.

the fact that the m1a1 aim has gen 2 thermals and 13x zoom at 11.3 and the m1a2 which is the same tank with a commanders sight but has gen 1 thermals and 10x zoom say a lot about this tank.
The main problem witht he abrams is that it cant kill anything but everything else can oneshot it. I cant peirce the front of any tank exept for the tiny weak spots but they all can go through everything on the front of the abrams execpt for the turret cheeks (but ive been shot through there before).

It always bugs me that it's common knowledge in every tank discussion that the Russian APFSDS is much worse than the western ones because of the auto loader in the T- 72/80/90, it can't fit the modern rounds because they are too long for it. Yet the Russian rounds are fine and penetrate the toughest armour on the Abrams/Challenger/Leopard strongest plates at range. And the Russian tanks bounce these newer ultra modern APFSDS rounds that were specifically designed to defeat anything in the Russian fleet. Look i get balance but this is beyond a joke.

Hopefully Gaijin will add the V3 to make US players happy. Though I will say it would add some interesting mechanics. The v3 not only has MORE armor, but also adds the Trophy APS. It also adds an APU to allow for turret rotation with the engine off. No more slow turret turns with no engine. It would also be interesting to see Odd handling the v3 with its Smart Munitions. Having a smart round that actively seeks out targets? Good bye KA50s.
There's nothing special about Russian top tier tanks. No gun depression, terrible mobility, below average gun handling. It's the complete package of having strong anti-air in the Pantsir and great helicopter options that make them a good but not great top-tier nation.
I feel like you smoking something. BVM, B3, T90M. All have equal acceleration to all abrams. Shit even when I play vs them while using the HSTVL I still sometimes get beat to points by USSR vehicles. A 83km/h vehicle that weights maybe 20tons gets beat. So yeah mobility is up there and they are reliably stable and have good gun handling. They are way more survivable than Abrams by a long shot. The only thing abrams beat them is in the RAW pen for their main APFSDS and the reload which doesn’t even matter when the first shot matter since you either kill or get killed/crit where you have to repair or die cuz rushed. Not to mention as the other guy said great SPAA, helicopters, and the new SM3 with its KH38s. The only real counter to that it within the same nation. 1 kill 1 cap 1 assist and you can spawn something that guarantees you 4 kills from 12km or more far away from ADATS max long range not to mention that ADATS can’t intercept because it doesn’t have a tracking radar. So unless you are teamed up with Germany/ Italy/ France you don’t have ways to counter Russian jets
Russian mbts are on par with the americans, what makes them strong is their helis and the spaa. Since the vikhr nerf it became much more balanced, i recommend you to check its winrate on the last months.
The frequency that I get seversk, abandoned factory etc (tiny, reserve tier maps) at around 11.0 is infuriating. Map pref settings seem to mean nothing. Welcome back Odd. Great video.

Fun fact: the M1A2 SEPv2 is the most modern Abrams model in-game. Its so modern, in fact, that the M1A2 SEPv3, the Trophy-equipped upgrade for it, isn’t even in full production yet.
@@stintakles2596 Germany is strong only because of the Leopards. Russia has almost everything else that is better. Sweden gets Germany's Leopards, but also gets much better SPAA, and aircraft (not helis though) than them. Russia's CAS and SPAA are one of the best, although Gripen is also really good.
I actually find the Abrams to be a pretty neat tank overall. Its Mobility really gives you an edge over mistakes. I unlocked the Squadron M1A1 AIM and in my third match, I nearly got a nuke if it weren't from my ass sweating like I'm in a desert.
I hate how Russian top tier everything is made of Stalinium and all physics and real world encounters go straight out the window. Russian bias is why I don’t play top tier.
Its killing me dropped down to like 35%-win rate at tier 10.0 USA tanks. Sometimes the rounds penetrate next battle same spot and nothing. I rarely have that issue on non-Russian tanks. Not ghost rounds failure to pen.
The main issue for me is that the Abrams has very reliable weak spots that you will always be able to cut right through. Other tanks, namely t72/80/90 will walk away a full on side shot with no damage from said Abrams
The problem is not in the abrams itself. Its still a very capable tank. The problem is the addition of spall liners. Something like a 2a7/122 is much easier to play because you can just get shot in the side and still get to shoot back. I have top tier US, Germany, Russia, France and Sweden and I have to say the 122s are just so hard to counter when you meet a swarm of them. Funnily enough t80bvms isnt as hard to deal with. They never shouldve added spall liners.
If people think this one is bad with no armor in the front hull. Try out the merkava lineup. If someone even makes a hint they're going to look at you, you blow up. Every time being hit through the engine or over the engine instantly killing all crewmembers. If you sit in the 4M and meet an ATGM you will be alright for a few shots, though. Balance. Not even sure the turret armor is usefull
The only good thing about the Abrams is you can take all but 5 rounds but even then the 6 rounds stored on the right hand side are so out of the way it doesnt even matter that much
People forget that the Abrams isn’t a Brawler, in fact it’s far from it, it can brawl, but it’s not as effective as the Leopard 2’s or T-80 tanks. But it’s best on defense. Hull down is your best friend. Learned that in the horrendous tank known as the Challenger 2.

There are several main problems with the Abrams;
The 'weakspot' is over-exposed more than it should be due to a slightly inaccurate model. Years ago a guy visited an M1 with a ruler, measured the turret-ring exposure and took photos of it. Gaijin refused to correct the model, citing that it wasn't a 'primary source'. Not joking.
The weakspot is also made worse by the fact the game doesn't properly implement APFSDS-shattering. In reality if a round hit the upper plate of the M1, it should shatter and not penetrate. That's not what happens in game.
Gaijin also don't acknowledge that the internal armour of the M1 provides some spall protection. It also doesn't model any turret ring armour at all.
On the flipside, Russian ERA is overperforming ridiculously, A thin panel of side ERA should not defeat any APFSDS round, especially the M829A2. The M1's performance is so lacking Gaijin recently considering adding the M829A3 to the game, but decided against it saying it 'wouldn't really make much difference'. Think about that for a second. An APFSDS that was specifically designed to defeat Russian ERA, wouldn't make any difference in game, according to Gaijin. That's how bad they are at implementing US tech.

People are so blind these days, they can't even recognize a brilliant vehicle like the "HSTVL." It's like the 2S38 but designed for anti-tank warfare. In my last game, I took out three T-90Ms in five seconds-it's like they were made of cardboard! Later, while defending a point, I took three hits and still managed to destroy a Strv 122 (Leo 2A7). The "HSTVL" is so strong, it feels like bringing a tank to a pillow fight. Ultimately, I racked up enough kills to nuke everything. After discovering the "HSTVL," I never played the Abrams again.

It would be incredibly heavy if they gave it trophy, but I still think they should honestly. Otherwise, there's just no point in the SEPv2's existence, because it doesn't really change anything from the SEPv1 (which is arguably better since you can take off the TUSK kit).

Idk having seen one in real life in person the warthunder one does seem a little to big but not by a huge amount. The issue is in real life making that shot would be super hard. Especially with how garbage Russian optics usually are from poor quality assurance. But is what it is
US top tier is so bad, my team dies in under a minute and leaves me with only one teammate to fight against. The win percentage for the US tree is below 30% which is why I quit playing on that tree.

@@Mjstas A big problem with it in my opinion is the fact they refuse to give them a modern sabot round that is specifically made to beat ERA, the us army is already on M829A4 but the game still only gives abrams players M829A2, if I die with the abrams well yeah its my fault I probs was too greedy and pushed out, maybe I peeked too soon, etc. But when I shoot a T-80 on the hull or turret but it no pens? I have to hit the lower hull or the driver seat?. Dude the abrams and that round is designed to pop those things in 1 shot.

every time i look at WT Data Project i just keep seeing the 30% winrate America has and how it's been that way for YEARS, and Russia still over 65% despite literally getting less kills per game than America and it just reminds me how the Russian FSB psyop game literally has the games fixed so that Germany and Sweden are on Russia's team more times than on America's team and then how they artificially nerf literally everything America has. They refuse to model internal spall liners for Abrams despite anti radiation liners literally coded like a internal spall liner for Russian tanks even prior to when spall liners were in the game, same thing with internally modeled carousel, Russian/Chinese fuel tanks being the only ones that don't have armored plates around it and entirely dont spall, etc. they refuse to make A2 Abrams UFP 50mm despite it being that way irl, they refuse to up armor turret ring, model turret basket, refuse to upgrade hull armor, refuse to make ARAT 2 protect against tandem warheads despite LITERALLY being tandem ERA on top of layers of ARAT 1, refuse to give Trophy APS, give anything later than SEPv2 or literally give anything to help them. There's no light tanks besides HSTVL and Stryker, there's no AA with anti tank capabilities, still no AA to fix gap from 4.0 to 7.7, the LAVAD's rockets still haven't been fixed and are insanely off when you switch to them and use rangefinder. T-90A should have proryv-1 turret, 2A46M-2, and AZ autoloader all incapable of fitting, firing, etc 3BM60, gets it anyway

2S25M didn't even enter service when added, 2A75 cannot fire 3BM60
T-80BVM in game is a T-80B brought up to BVM standard, per stat card saying 2A46M-1 it shouldn't be able to fire 3BM60

As their already way to heavy as it is and the army does not want it to gain a handful extra tons. The TUSK on it aren't even meant for APFSDS but RPGs.
The T-90M in the game is the Obr 2016-2023. Captured ones in Ukraine has it with 3BM60s.
@@pilotmanpaul The spall liners are most likely integrated in the armor layout on the interior, but it's classified so even tankers might not know or be able to disclose it. It just wouldn't make sense to have a tank with that much protection but no mitigation of shrapnel. Oh but the crew does have ballistic protection IRL which it doesn't have in game. Also he was talking about the T90A.

@@pilotmanpaul The Abrams 100% has multiple Kevlar layers and UHMWPE layers, NBC protection which Gaijin has already modeled “anti radiation material” but only in Russian vehicles which doesn’t generate the smallest fragments of spall, and Abrams crew even wear body armor. It’d be obvious to anyone that it shouldn’t be spalling anywhere near as much as it does

That turret bounce at 4:09 was honestly INSANE, I've tried to angle other vehicles like that to deflect shots and obviously none of them are as fast as the Abrams but I know that getting the timing right to predict when they'll shoot is hard af and you made it look clean.

it's engine now is a bit quieter than the Leopard's, T-90, T-72. similar levels to the T-80. They fixed it a while ago.
IK which is completely wrong IRL at a distance the abrams sounds like a diesel engine their are plenty of videos with high quality sound that shows how low of a sound the abrams makes the only time you hear a turbine is when your inside the tank or its not moving thats the only way to tell if its a diesel or a turbine engine Gaijin just hates the USA

@@Bibodoi Measuring it based on purely loudness is not accurate representation. The abram engine has a distinct sharp hum to it that can be easily spotted compared to other tanks. Russian engines on the other hand have an engine sound that easily blends in with surrounding sounds so making it harder to detect. I main french and there were many times T-80 tanks could sneak right behind me without me even knowing

@ronaldmcreagann6343 yea, but you can use the thermals of the gun sight and not have to switch cameras, just driver up, shoot, driver back. All without changing cameras and never losing sight of target. Try it but becareful of height over bore with the sight.

The first shot matters a lot in top tier. The abrams isnt going to bounce many shots, and the gun isn't going to pen most snapshots. You HAVE to aim using the Abrams, and your opponents don't have to be nearly as accurate to cripple you.

Abrams has a terrible problem. Although it has 800 mm turret armor, it penetrates 50/50 sabot shells. Yes, this is not theoretically possible. But it happens. And the other problem is; When the Cannon Breach is hit, this scatter is blocked on other tanks, but 3 crew dies on the Abrams and Boomm

It’s called Russian bias. They accept Russian propaganda as fact on the “soft era” even though in Ukraine the captured ones have been shown to be sand bags with orange plastic plates to hold shape. But KA-52 gets 2010 era ATGM but Apache gets 1990s ATGM because MMW hellfire would be “too op” as it is not affected by smoke. Russian top tier is uncompetitive so they then reduced spalling on all Russian top tier MBT and some Chinese ones too.

You forgot to mention the real life reload of under 6 seconds (that’s just to pass as a reloaded in the tank crew) most are around 4-5 and some are even faster at around 3.
The problem with usa Abrams is compare to other tank it on either mid or below. First is you can hear the Abrams from across the map, second the turret ring shot sucks, the armor in the hull sucks, 3bm42 can pen a modern Abrams which i find hard to believe. Overalls you are better off in almost any leopard 2's especially Sweden leopards 2's.( Got top tier for France and have a better time in it, then in the US.)

For me, the biggest issue with US top tier is the teammates you get, US right now has the worst winrate in WT and it's easy to see why. I miss playing my SEP Abrams because they are great tanks but I'm not ready to dive into US top tier and suffer because games can get really rough, 9 out of 10 games will be a defeat unless you play in squads but generally I would not recommend getting into it.
I personally blame the Clicktards that dragged all of top tier US down with it.
Good players stoped playing US cuz abrams sucks, adats sucks, ah64d sucks, the only good thing going for US is F16, but it cant do anything when its forced to avoid S1, Grippens, Mig29s and Su27s. Also if you have to play sniper role with abrams you are better of with leos ans strvs.

It’s not a competition about who suffers the most, the problem with the Abrams is that it’s probably the most incorrectly modeled tank at top tier. Underperforming more than it should. The arietes, leclercs, etc are far worse of course. Though in real life they are not much better.
The solution for minor nation tanks is to have their br dropped, gaijin needs to get off their ass and use the br system correctly, it’s a joke that the ariete is at the same br as the t80bvm and etc.
The Abrams on the other hand just needs its many problems fixed, incorrect era protection, missing armor, busted turret ring, and non functional trap shot apfsds shell shattering.

Absolutely absurd. Russians APFSDS aren't even long enough to be comparable to western rounds and armor. Length determines 90% of the performance of these rounds, and the Abrams has substantially better rounds available. Without FPV drones, ATGM saturation, and modern day advanced artillery, all of which can dispose of ANY type of tank, Ukrainian Abrams would be dispatching T-80 and T-72/T-90 by the dozens.

The main problem witht he abrams is that it cant kill anything but everything else can oneshot it. I cant peirce the front of any tank exept for the tiny weak spots but they all can go through everything on the front of the abrams execpt for the turret cheeks (but ive been shot through there before).

The amount of beating you took and survived in some of those games is surprising honestly. It probably doesn’t have a good armor, but it sure seems survivable. Something you can’t really say about Sherman:)

It always bugs me that it's common knowledge in every tank discussion that the Russian APFSDS is much worse than the western ones because of the auto loader in the T- 72/80/90, it can't fit the modern rounds because they are too long for it.
Yet the Russian rounds are fine and penetrate the toughest armour on the Abrams/Challenger/Leopard strongest plates at range.
And the Russian tanks bounce these newer ultra modern APFSDS rounds that were specifically designed to defeat anything in the Russian fleet.

haaayaaaa if only Gaijin would fix that massive gap that the Abrams in game was given. It not even that big in real life, do a side by side photo comparison and the real life version has smaller gap in front than one in game by 3-5 inches.

Considering they added that gap on purpose after adding the Abrams to make them easier to knock out I doubt they will ever fix it.
Hopefully Gaijin will add the V3 to make US players happy. Though I will say it would add some interesting mechanics. The v3 not only has MORE armor, but also adds the Trophy APS. It also adds an APU to allow for turret rotation with the engine off. No more slow turret turns with no engine. It would also be interesting to see Odd handling the v3 with its Smart Munitions. Having a smart round that actively seeks out targets? Good bye KA50s.
I personally think that Russia top tier is just not balanced and that’s why everyone thinks that their top vehicles are just so bad.

There's nothing special about Russian top tier tanks. No gun depression, terrible mobility, below average gun handling. It's the complete package of having strong anti-air in the Pantsir and great helicopter options that make them a good but not great top-tier nation.
I feel like you smoking something. BVM, B3, T90M. All have equal acceleration to all abrams. Shit even when I play vs them while using the HSTVL I still sometimes get beat to points by USSR vehicles. A 83km/h vehicle that weights maybe 20tons gets beat. So yeah mobility is up there and they are reliably stable and have good gun handling. They are way more survivable than Abrams by a long shot. The only thing abrams beat them is in the RAW pen for their main APFSDS and the reload which doesn’t even matter when the first shot matter since you either kill or get killed/crit where you have to repair or die cuz rushed. Not to mention as the other guy said great SPAA, helicopters, and the new SM3 with its KH38s. The only real counter to that it within the same nation. 1 kill 1 cap 1 assist and you can spawn something that guarantees you 4 kills from 12km or more far away from ADATS max long range not to mention that ADATS can’t intercept because it doesn’t have a tracking radar. So unless you are teamed up with Germany/ Italy/ France you don’t have ways to counter Russian jets

@@stintakles2596 Germany is strong only because of the Leopards. Russia has almost everything else that is better. Sweden gets Germany's Leopards, but also gets much better SPAA, and aircraft (not helis though) than them. Russia's CAS and SPAA are one of the best, although Gripen is also really good.

I actually find the Abrams to be a pretty neat tank overall. Its Mobility really gives you an edge over mistakes.
I unlocked the Squadron M1A1 AIM and in my third match, I nearly got a nuke if it weren't from my ass sweating like I'm in a desert.

Its killing me dropped down to like 35%-win rate at tier 10.0 USA tanks. Sometimes the rounds penetrate next battle same spot and nothing. I rarely have that issue on non-Russian tanks. Not ghost rounds failure to pen.

If u have a .50cal or higher you can shoot out the abrams engine from the side but the crew area has too much armour so higher calibre is needed

The main issue for me is that the Abrams has very reliable weak spots that you will always be able to cut right through. Other tanks, namely t72/80/90 will walk away a full on side shot with no damage from said Abrams
The problem is not in the abrams itself. Its still a very capable tank. The problem is the addition of spall liners. Something like a 2a7/122 is much easier to play because you can just get shot in the side and still get to shoot back. I have top tier US, Germany, Russia, France and Sweden and I have to say the 122s are just so hard to counter when you meet a swarm of them. Funnily enough t80bvms isnt as hard to deal with. They never shouldve added spall liners.
Pretty insane they added spall liners before properly addressing the other glaring armor model issues with their top tier tanks.

If people think this one is bad with no armor in the front hull. Try out the merkava lineup. If someone even makes a hint they're going to look at you, you blow up. Every time being hit through the engine or over the engine instantly killing all crewmembers. If you sit in the 4M and meet an ATGM you will be alright for a few shots, though. Balance. Not even sure the turret armor is usefull

People forget that the Abrams isn’t a Brawler, in fact it’s far from it, it can brawl, but it’s not as effective as the Leopard 2’s or T-80 tanks. But it’s best on defense. Hull down is your best friend. Learned that in the horrendous tank known as the Challenger 2.
