Hi All Scale RC, I am liking the new 5th Scale RC from RCMK Smithmaster, I was looking at MCD but watching your channel and Readyset (gives you props) I may have to pick up one of these for my backyard. That is a true 5th scale off road machine
This RCMK is really a bargain. You get a lot of car for the money. Shipping is free on their cars, but not on parts. If you like to have spares on hand buy them with the car that way they ship for free. If you buy them later shipping from Korea is expensive, but you do get it in 2 to 3 days. 👍👍👍
hello. all Scale RC subscribers 😀 This is RCMK x Smithmaster. We are the Korean company that made the car in this video. Thank you so much for making an unboxing video of our RC car! We are really impressed that you took the time to introduce our product, and we really appreciate that you reviewed things we didn't think of. We're always working hard to improve our products and meet the needs of our customers, but sometimes there are things we haven't thought of, so we value the input of experts like you. We'd really appreciate it if you could continue to help us showcase and improve our products through reviews. Your honest and professional feedback is very helpful to us. Thank you again for providing us with such useful information. We really appreciate it! 😎😎😎😎❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much. It was my pleasure. No RC is perfect, but if you listen to your audience, you can come close. I will continue to showcase the SCR since I really do like the product. 👍👍👍👍
I was going to mention that but the current Audi running in the Dakar rally looks completely different. To avoid confusion, I didn't say anything. The run should be very soon. Getting the soldering iron ready now. I really love your channel, amazing content. Thank you for watching mine I really appreciate it! 🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍
Definitely good looking. If it runs as good as it looks, I'll be happy. I just left you a question on your Outcast video. Thank you in advance and thank you for watching. 🙏🙏👍👍👍
I have the RCMK XCR-1200SE 4WD brushless buggy. I got mine from FADs Hobbies. They make a bunch of nice 1/5th scales. They are sweet rigs. You need the 1200SE next.
Lol, I gotta coordinate 🤣🤣🤣 nah. I love that classic speed racer tee. Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. If you get one. Make sure trim the stickers so they will fit nicer. It's such an awesome looking car.👍👍👍👍
I thought RCMK is dead? I have the RCMK XCR-1000 1/5 scale gas powered. I can't find parts for it anymore in the US. DDM stop stocking parts fort. I'm afraid the same thing going to happen to this. Hard to get parts for it later on?
I didn't know who they were until I came across this car, about 2 weeks ago. looks like a lot of the chassis parts are available at fadshobbies.com/?s=rcmk&post_type=product Don't know if they have them in stock, but they have it listed. looks like the XCR and the SCR share parts. I will message RCMK and ask about parts since they did reply to my previous emails.👍👍👍👍
You can actually order parts directly from the rcmk site. Their site is a little tricky. On the drop-down, click on car. At the bottom of the page, you'll see a more button. Not sure why all the parts aren't under rc parts.
The wheels are bead locks like most of the 5th scale cars I've seen. What do you see wrong with the wheel design? This is designed more as a short course truck than a basher. So, you would probably need to make a custom chassis brace. 👍👍👍👍
I think this chassis was probably gas powered in a previous model. Looks like the center diff was offset to accommodate for a bigger gas engine. That is also probably why all the electronics are on one side since it's where there was the most space. I'm going to throw in on a 4-point scale and check the balance. Thank you for watching. 👍👍👍👍
Most of the actual 5th scale cars come with 2 stroke gas engines so the driveshafts are angled to accommodate. Basically, they took a gas chassis and converted it too brushless. The battery tray could have been split for better balance, but other than that the car is great. Thank you for watching. 👍👍👍👍
You're the 1/5 scale beast!💯👌👌👌 and this is going to be another cool video. Respect to your time and effort and don't hold the 1/5 car's for too long. They are heavy 😅😅 and no one is gonna tell your wife you used her clothe to clean your car 😂🫵👍👍👍
Finally....a youtuber announced the mm thickness of body of RC truck. First time i experienced that. Very impressive. As is your video. ty. New subscriber. I almost envy your truck. Correction. I kinda do. o7 cool video. I hope u show footage of it driving jumping flipping etc. drool...,
5th scale bodies are really expensive, so I figured it was important. The car does need a better bumper system, to fill the gap between the body. I will be filling the space with foam for mine. I should be making a run video soon. Thank you for the sub and for watching. 👍👍👍👍
The 800KV motor should be able to handle 12s, but the MAX5 200-amp ESC is only rated up to 8s. For 12s you need the MAX5 250-amp G2. Thank you for watching👍👍👍
I like it though really nice I bet it was a lot of money into it cause I already got a whole bunch of RC myself but what I’m trying to say it’s a lot of money in that hobby I knew that but I know you look like like you don’t have money troubles but that’s nice looking but thank you for selling me
I wasn't always able to buy these big cars. Let alone any cars. It just makes you appreciate it more when you are finally able too. I just subbed to your channel. 👍👍👍👍
I really like the body...but, the drivetrain design seems VERY poorly designed, as there are several problems...I see a LOT of potentially broken parts. First is that there's no left-right balance. Although the motor appears to be fairly centered, the ESC & batteries are all on the left side. With batteries installed, is be willing to bet that the left-right balance is probably close to 65-35...at best, 60-40. Next problem is the extremely offset center diff, as well as the extreme angles of the front & rear center driveshaft. That's going to put a LOT of stress on all parts involved - the greater the angle, the greater the stress, and the greater probability of associated parts breaking. It would have made a lot more sense to have the drivetrain centered, front-to-rear, and position the motor to the right of the driveshafts. Not only would that have eliminated all that stress, his or would have also helped balance the left-right weight distribution. How's this is a new release, I don't see them releasing an updated version for at least 2-3 years...but, when they do get around to developing a V2, hopefully, they will correct me problems. Until then, as much as I really like this, it would be a definite "no-go" until those problems are fixed. It'll be interesting to see how durable it is once you get around to "pushing its limits".
I have a 4 corner scale that I'll put it on to check the balance. I will try and remember for my next video. Team corally does kinda the same thing with the angle, but definitely the straighter, the better. Hopefully, it will hold up. Thank you for watching. 👍 👍👍👍
@@allscalerc That will definitely be one way (with batteries installed) to see the weight balance. Regarding the doesn't of the body, I was watching another video, and in a crash, a fairly sizable piece completely broke off. While the body is thick (you said 2.5mm),b it seems that the material, itself, might not be very good. Honestly, I hate "putting down" RCs. But, with this one, it's appearing to be somewhat questionable...almost as if they overly rushed development, and might not have done much "real-world testing". Nevertheless, I still REALLY like that body design.
@ninthislandrc I think the bodies material is probably fine. The issue is not having any support behind the nose and rear. They really need to make some foam bumpers for this thing, but for now, I'll make my own. Thank you for watching. 👍👍👍
I was just using the F5 chassis for a size comparison. They are actually really close especially since the F5 chassis is also sold as a truck. Thank you for watching. 👍
@allscalerc compared to traxxas. This looks like they have everything jammed up front just smashed together, and also seems like it would be pretty heavy on 1 side. Just looks very cheezy and smashed together when they have so much room.
Most of these 5th scale cars are made with 2 stroke gas engines first. Then if we're lucky they make a brushless version. So being that the brushless version is an afterthought, the layouts aren't always what we think they should be. Splitting the battery tray is something I would have like to have seen. Most or all Traxxas cars are built brushless from the beginning, so they are very balanced. A more fare comparison would be with cars like the Losi 5ive-T, MCD or Rovan. There is a Max version that doesn't have the cheesy parts, but it was more than I was willing to spend at the time. I will be upgrading this one soon. Thank you for watching. 👍👍👍👍
@ecoboostrules9795 I paid $1,257.06. It comes with the ESC, servo, and motor. You have to add your own receiver and battery connectors. Not sold as a ready to run. It's definitely cheaper than buying a gas-powered 5th and converting it to brushless.
Looks like another cheap Chinese pos if it's under $2000 I would not waste my money on something that will break every time you run it it's junk man don't promote junk bro
I'm spending my own money and trying it, so others don't have too. If it breaks, I will let you guys now. The electronics are Hobbywing which I use all the time. As far as the chassis I won't know until I drive it.👍👍

@allscalerc On the website showing it is closing down on February 21. I don't know if it is only for maintenance or closing for good. 🤔
@Harvz78 It probably is a vacation or something. The banner said it opens back up mid-March. 👍👍👍

@@allscalerc What’s the website?
That’s a wild looking vehicle. I am worried about the wheel design, though. I’d also like to install a chassis brace.

The electronics layout makes it look like it's designed for left turn only.

Very true. Thank you for watching. 👍👍👍👍
What were they thinking with the chassis layout... Everything is on one side and the center driveshafts are at a crazy angle.

Not sure yet, but I will try and capture the speed when I run it on the beach. 👍👍👍👍
