Thank you Chuck! I've been googling how to do this for a bit and this video was nice and concise! Who knew that the problem could be easily fixed?!

Thnq u sir....
Hello! Do you know how to add value labels with range? For example I want to label 1 to 5 as "Label X", 6 to 10 as "Label Y", 11 to 12 as "Label Z"...
did just as the video for a categorical variable rather than a binary one, when using reg y i.x, where x is the variable I labeled values to, regression output still comes out with x and separates cases but for the values and not the labels: x x.1 x.2 x.3 x.3.... i want to get x label1 label2 insted of the assosiated numerical values... can it be done?
Is there a faster way to relabel counties in a state? For example, I have 159 counties. Or do I have to do that individually?
Hi. Do you know why my stata14.0 crash, when I am creating a new value label?
How do you relable "male" and "female" into 0 and 1?
Hello, is there an updated url for the file in this video so that I may follow the tutorial for Stata?
my stata value label option is disables , how can I enable it?
My data is a string variable, so this does not work. What can I do?
Did you find a solution to this problem? I am experiencing the same issue.
Used a mix of Excel and Stata I think
How do you do this when it's a string variable? The "manage" button is greyed out
You cannot attach a value label to a string variable; if you would like to convert your string variable to a numeric variable, please type *help encode* . You can then attach a value label to the new numeric variable.
Dear Sir, How to resolve r(950) error, any video on that
It seems like you don't have enough memory. Please type *compress* in the Stata Command window; this command will check whether the amount of memory used by your data can be reduced. You can then try issuing the command again. If you still get the error, please email us at tech-support@stata.com.
One more explanation, please! gender should be categorical/string variable, not byte/Numeric?
The sex variable could be stored as a string variable or as a numeric variable with 2 categories. In the numeric case, value labels can be added (as shown in this video) to identify what each numeric value represents. In some cases, such as including a variable in a regression, it is necessary for the variable to be stored as a numeric variable. If you need to convert from a string to numeric, you can use the *encode* command, which will automatically create value labels for you.
