i think the non-subweapon battle system in this game, in the same mind set for chibi's brush time limit, fits because chibi is too young to be capable of carrying multiple instruments on his person at one time.
Also the partner mechanic compensates for the lack of a subweapon somewhat. I love Okamiden but a flaw I've just realised while watching this LP is that it's very fetch quest heavy.
Once you get Nanami back, you can go back to that point by taking the stairs the at the top of the screen from the room with the origin mirror. She says, "Those are the faces of Ashura. A sad face... A happy face... An angry face... Why would someone put those here?"
What I liked about Okami and Okamiden: You play as an animal, and not just an animal, but an animal that is GOD. Such a nice change from the usual games where you play as a human hero. Not to mention Chibi is adorable!
Ōkamiden is my favorite game for personal reasons. I will not say it's a perfect game, but you can tell the developers cared...shoddy localization aside...
It's not exactly a "shoddy" localisation (there are _plenty_ of worse examples, such as Zero Wing ("All your base are belong to us" came from this), Dark Souls at times, Resident Evil (especially 1 for PS1; "master of unlocking" and "jill sandwich" come to mind), Sonic Adventure (1 and 2)). What it is, in my opinion, is "unpolished"; most of the text is completely fine, there's just a few errors left in.
chuggaa, I just want to say, I'm glad you make these videos. You always cheer me up when I sad. I just got home today and found out my beloved cat got hit by a car. I thought I'd never get over the loss. But after watching this video today, I'm actually happy again now thanks to kind hearted behavior. Thanks a lot man. I really owe you one for cheering me up and for making these videos.
I love puzzles, especially in Zelda temples, although those Divine Beasts in Breath of Wild were a bit mind bending if you don't have at least a couple of Sheikah Shrines under your belt. P.S. Tsumagari is a reference to the first Okami game. It is the name of the first glaive you receive after beating Orochi with Susano helping you out.
06:03 I've played Okamiden lots of times and 100% it twice, and yet I still have no idea that there's a Lucky Coin there. It's a good thing that Capcom included more Lucky Coins than you needed throughout the game!
Because X and Y allow you to do short hops (just barely tapping the button to jump like half a character height), which in turn allow you to easily hit grounded characters with aerial moves. It's especially good when you're using characters like Falco, Wolf, or Toon Link because it let's you hit perfectly with their down spike moves (in fact its my main kill move with Falco). Also works well for Zelda's forward and backward aerial.
Yay the glave! Honestly, in Okami I found the glave to be the most useful of all the items, and always had it as the primary weapon (a bullet-style rosary for secondary).
Emile, i watch these videos because you saved me from killing myself. i don't care if you don't make sense sometimes! you give me reason to wake up everyday! for that i am eternally grateful.
J Ehrig hmmm............emojiis on my android youtubers who don't make videos........okami 3.......I don't see how this confirms half life 3 youtogami!
Elizabeth Moreland judging by how capcom hates megaman they've gotta do something to please their fans sooooooooo its possible but I wasn't that serious. But the god of cutcenes would be a fun charachter
Another great vid, Chugga. This is cheering me up a bit, because I'm a bit worried about my uncle, who hasn't been doing well health-wise this past week. I'm hoping he'll be okay. Anyway, keep up the brilliant work! Man, you were really self-deprecating in this episode. XD
Don't think you're the only one who became a LPer because of Chuggaa! Chuggaa, because of him, i always wanted to become a Let's Player and enjoy my past games all over again with many people out there on the internet. Chuggaa, if you somehow see this reply too, you're my internet hero. =) Because of him, I enjoy my time going back to old games and sharing those moments of reliving with other people. It feels good to doing videos like them, and now I love LPing.
is it possible to revisit the Pagoda and get the snake fig? i missed it when i was in there. if not is it possible to backtrack while in the Pagoda when i've gotten to the save mirror before the catfish boss?
I know this is an old comment but for reference, if you progress beyond that Snake fig. without collecting it, that particular one becomes unobtainable. However, there is another Snake fig. in a later area which is less jerkishly hidden but is still missable. So missing the Snake fig. here doesn't screw you out of 100%.
Thanks Pikachu! I missed it, saved, and looked at my map and saw the hidden room. I thought I had to start over after like 5 and a half hours of playtime.
Thanks Pikachu! I missed it, saved, and looked at my map and saw the hidden room. I thought I had to start over after like 5 and a half hours of playtime.
I completely understand what you mean when you said that the X and Y buttons are confusing occasionally, especially for those Mario Party games like shy guy says.
8:12 Nanami used Scald? It's super effective! I find it funny how he said he was making it a longer video, and yet he barely went a minute past when he said that. XD
Hi Emile. So glad you started this game back because I ended up playing a whole lot further and missed two items already ^_^' heh (but not for the masterpiece or manifest, whew). As for the crying/happy/angry face hack, you can actually bring Nanami back to this room and she will examine it for you & says ( I think) that she isn't sure what this pertains to. And further on, when you solve the puzzle the dialogue changes based on if you brought her back here or not. Hope that helps! GO CHUGGA!!!
4:49 Praise from a statue...It's probably best not to question it. 8:03 Connect the dots? 8:06 How are you gonna burn out torches with water? I like the strategy at 11:0611:54 Very Sneaky Capcom very sneaky.
The connect the dots and burn torches were thing Chuggaa said. The strategy at 11:06 was walking face first into fire and getting burned. 11:54 Is a rather jerkishly placed hidden required treasure if you want to get 100%.
8:17 I normally watch you because you're so relatable: gamer, plays games because you think they're fun regardless of the general consensus, get tongue-tied. ...But right now, normally I'd watch your stuff right after school, I need to forget about an entire day of creepypastas that, for some reason, many used Lavender Town music, and I want to be able to sleep at night...
The reason the vine power was changed from connecting the flower to you to connecting you to the flower is so you could use it on your partner. Drawing a line from your partner to you makes them come to you when you want the other way around.
The only time I confused X for Y on a gamecube controller was when I owned my wavebird. A friend managed to drop it and it left a large gash on the Y button, making it look like another X
mix up the gamecude controller buttons? For me the ds's button are more confusable because I remember the y buttion is horizontal and the x button is vertical.
I think they took the sub-weapons away because you have party members. You might be kind of overpowered with five types of attacks to use against enemies.
"Oh, Chugga's going to be gone for a week? Eh, may as well reach the next save point, then backtrack to anything I've missed." "If you jump down right here, it is a point of no return." "...Well, time to restart the game."
Apparently I'm one of the few who hasn't mixed up the X and Y buttons, even though I play games like SSB and Mario Kart where they do the same thing. I guess it was just having it embedded in my mind growing up that helped me not forget. No, I remember the button layout on every system I've played, save for the original Xbox. That was a stupid place for a start button
Who notices the reference from those faces to Wario: Master of Disguise? Sad first, then happy then angry. That's exactly the order Terrormisu puts on her masks in Allergia Gardens!
The blade, in my opinion, was the most annoying and infuriating weapon in Ókami. For me, the beads made the best use of the Wii remote because all you had to do was shake it twice and get a potential 8-hit-combo. But I just used reflector, particularly the Solar Flare, because it just looked SOOOOOO cool! And it was nice to have a weapon that did elemental damage. And plus it was Shiranui's weapon, and Shiranui is a BOSS!
" Am i the only person who thinks the X and Y buttons are confuse-able ON a gamecube controller? " When i first played the game cube i thought there was two X buttons
Chugga: "We're almost to the end of the dungeon. You know what that means!"
Me: Dungeon Map?!
Chuggaa makes so many puns he made one on accident and didn't realize. He said 'sick burns' after talking about fire... XD

"Sake figurine"? Uh... if you say so, Emile.
What I liked about Okami and Okamiden: You play as an animal, and not just an animal, but an animal that is GOD. Such a nice change from the usual games where you play as a human hero. Not to mention Chibi is adorable!
Now that he got Nanami back, could he go back and check the thing with faces that he wanted to check with a party member at 15:25?
Yes

I prefer "rushed"...
11:59 Sake Fig? its Snake Fig. The game's typos have possessed chuggas's Computer!!!!
#what #are #you #talkingbout #annoyinghastagmeme.htm#
10:27 I thought he was speaking to the viewers in expectation of them mocking him for saying he is doing something then immediately failing.
I like how he said that we get a longer episode but it was just 30 seconds.
I went to watch your okami series and now I am hooked
chuggaa, I just want to say, I'm glad you make these videos. You always cheer me up when I sad. I just got home today and found out my beloved cat got hit by a car. I just love Nanami's theme, it's my second favorite out of all of Chibi's partners!
The Picture of Nanami at the end was cute...
And so was the hug line...
Aw....
I never thought 'confusable' was a real word until now. Chugga is not only entertaining but also educational!
2:03 awwwww I could have sworn you were gunna say "A fish out of water"

awesome sake figurine you got there. its very funny actually, like the butterfly thing from emerald. and even cooler are the people who realize it.
It's referring to how well hidden those two items where and how Chuggaa replied to those hidden items by saying "very sneaky Capcom"
this came out on my b-day..... best gift ever!!!!!!
Yay the glave! Honestly, in Okami I found the glave to be the most useful of all the items, and always had it as the primary weapon (a bullet-style rosary for secondary).
6:55 "So were crossing this water, hopefully we'll get into a battle again soon" - The words never spoken while playing Pokemon
Emile, i watch these videos because you saved me from killing myself. i don't care if you don't make sense sometimes! you give me reason to wake up everyday! for that i am eternally grateful.
This game is the god of cuteness!
Hmmm.... Stupid concept.....? OKAMI 3CONFIRMED!!!!!!!!!!
Really
J Ehrig hmmm............emojiis on my android youtubers who don't make videos........okami 3.......I don't see how this confirms half life 3 youtogami!

Thank you so much. You guys are so nice.

I typically don't confuse x and y if I don't think about them. But as soon as i think "Where are y and x" i mess up
I love glaves. They're my favorite weapon to use in Okami and Okamiden
And yes, the puzzles in this game are amazing

I completely understand what you mean when you said that the X and Y buttons are confusing occasionally, especially for those Mario Party games like shy guy says.
I've always gotten X and Y confused as well. Melee passed the curse over to Sunshine for me.
For some odd reason, I'm totally in love with nanami's cuteness than chibi's! She's so awesome!
Never been confused on the X and Y buttons. Also, I used up jumping too. I prefer it over the other buttons.
8:12 Nanami used Scald? It's super effective!
I find it funny how he said he was making it a longer video, and yet he barely went a minute past when he said that. XD
The X and Y buttons all ways mix me up. Like Vivians attack that attacks all enimies in Paper mario TTYD
"if that watersprout brings you up, you wanna jump down because-" (me)"there is stupit advertisement! AAARRWWGG!!!'
you are an awesome and funny person and you should have a billion subs
Nanami's theme is one of my favorites cause of the little splashes. ^^
God, that Sash Snake looks AWESOME!
"this would be a good stopping point, but I'll keep going." *one minute later* "I think we should end it off here."
This was uploaded on my birthday. YAY!
The Ammy Glaive combo from marvel vs capcom: fate of two worlds is also great
I watch you because you´re funny.......... and because your puns is AWESOME!!
"I would stop here but..." 1 minute later with 0.000000000001% progression. "I guess this is a good stopping point."

wow, I save at the save point after the point of no return, and now I have to start my game all over to get 100%. great game design
You're not the only one Emile. I always get the two gamecube buttons confused.
Puzzles. They're the new art direction.
4:49 Praise from a statue...It's probably best not to question it. 8:03 Connect the dots? 8:06 How are you gonna burn out torches with water? I like the strategy at 11:06 11:54 Very Sneaky Capcom very sneaky.

at 12:01 it said Sake Fig. at the top Right corner when it's supposed to be Snake Fig.
Oh yes, I love the _sake_ figurine!
8:17 I normally watch you because you're so relatable: gamer, plays games because you think they're fun regardless of the general consensus, get tongue-tied.

HEY CHUGGA, TURNS OUT YOU CAN EXAMINE THOSE FACES! ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS GO BACK TO THEM AFTER YOU SAVE YOUR PARTNER, AND SHE WILL TALK!
Chuggaa used Scald! It's super effective! the foe's torches fainted!
I've never had an issue with X and Y, because I played Metroid Prime a lot, and the Y button was used for missles, and X was morph ball.
20 minute episode? YES!
The reason the vine power was changed from connecting the flower to you to connecting you to the flower is so you could use it on your partner. Drawing a line from your partner to you makes them come to you when you want the other way around.
I mix up the A and B button on the WII retro controller. Why did they change those any way...
I really liked the puzzles in this video.
4:37 That's an Asura Priest, not a Senju of the Thousand Hands :D
"I think we should keep going."
-one minute later-
"Okay, we're ending this off here."
1:10 "Through the portal: with chuggaconroy, weeknights at 10."
The only time I confused X for Y on a gamecube controller was when I owned my wavebird. A friend managed to drop it and it left a large gash on the Y button, making it look like another X
Doing what you should already know, when you're at the end of the dungeon? Oh, you'll get the map!
i never had that problem with the gamecube controller because you can feel the letter on it without trying hard and looking down makes it easier
I grew up with Metroid Prime, and I grew to know that Y was the top button on the GameCube controller.
Chugga we watch you guys your funny, amazing, cool, great at gaming, and of course WE ALL LOVE YOU
The video title is my head during puzzle games and ice block push puzzles
That a cute picture of Nanamia!!! In the end of the video
mix up the gamecude controller buttons? For me the ds's button are more confusable because I remember the y buttion is horizontal and the x button is vertical.
awesome vid chugga I like when you make longer videos!
I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO MIXES UP X AND Y HOORAAAAAYYY

Chuggaa, I think vine works that way because if you did vine like in okami, it would be the same as guidance when trying to vine to your partner.
Who notices the reference from those faces to Wario: Master of Disguise? Sad first, then happy then angry. That's exactly the order Terrormisu puts on her masks in Allergia Gardens!
1:39 Chibi used vine whip!
It's super effective!

But I just used reflector, particularly the Solar Flare, because it just looked SOOOOOO cool! And it was nice to have a weapon that did elemental damage. And plus it was Shiranui's weapon, and Shiranui is a BOSS!
the only time I ever used dual reflectors was on those wheel enemies, and even then, all I did was the sub-counterattack
19:31 ooh nice picture of Nanami, beautiful
the cuteness is better
Am I the only one who laughs at Emile's bad puns? Yup it's just me..
I do!
Upload? On my birthday? I approve!
8:24 haha sick burns after putting out torch's
" Am i the only person who thinks the X and Y buttons are confuse-able ON a gamecube controller? " When i first played the game cube i thought there was two X buttons
Isaac Davis Also the scroll for the snake figurine says: sake figurine
This episode... it reminds me of a puzzle!
The Partners kinda act like a sub weapon by finishing a combo and doing a ton of damage
Chuggaa: "You guys are gonna get a longer episode, thank me later." Ends episode within 2 minutes...
Clearly the end of the dungeon means free ice cream.
When you got the snake fig. did you noticed that the card thing said sake fig.
We learn the way you speak. That is how we understand you.
Actually, Tonberries weren't introduced until Final Fantasy 5. I probably shouldn't know that like it were an instinct, but I do.
chuggaa where did you get that picture of naname at the end cause its soooo cute
Chibi used scald!
It's super effective!
